The worse thing about the school is the inability to get answers from the financial aide department. There is a constant run-around when you are trying to get answers about your money.

The parking is very hectic at the start of the semester.

Parking! They admit so many students but have a limited amount of parking. So, everyday is basically chaos, trying to find a parking space.

Because FIU is a fairly new school, it is ranked lowered than other Universities in the state of Florida. I think it's an awesome school with great professors but it doesn't receive the recognition it desires and it is widely unknown to those who live outside of Miami.

The advisors, most of the time you're better off advising yourself.

My worst experience at the school was that I had an advisor that directed me to take additional courses that were in fact not needed to complete my degree and just ended up delaying my graduation date along with my grade point average. I found myself another advisor, one for my major, and he pointed me in the right direction.
