What do you consider the worst thing about Florida International University? Why?

Annessa

For international students, the tuition fees is realllllllllllly high. And finding financial aid to help you is really hard. But you must persist! :~)

The worst thing is the lack of effective guidance. There is no easy way to find out what classes you need to take or what options are available to you in the event you've failed one or missed something. It is difficult to plan for the coming semesters when it is so hard to find out which class you need to take and then that class isn't even offered in the semester when you need it.

Renee

The worst thing about FIU is the amount of large classrooms that it has. Students who have difficulty with a subject tend to be left behind when in a class of 185 students.

Linnette

There are too many students and the administration is the worst because they give you the runaround for everything and do not know what they are talking about. Also, really difficult to register for classes.

Adriana

I think that the worst thing about my school is that it is so large that it sometimes can seem so impersonal. I came from a small catholic school and it was a culture shock for me to experience a large academic community. I think sometimes that it is too large and there are too many people.

i don't think there's anything bad abot my school

The classes are sometimes too big and the classrooms need a makeover. Also, the financial aid office should be more helpful. My personal experience has made it almost impossible for me to get financial aid. They should also provide more parking spaces since it is mostly a commuter school. FIU should also think about enlarging it's southern campus to accomodate more buildings, widen it's streets, and create a greener environment on the outskirsts of campus for outdoor recreation. It is very overcrowded.

Budget cuts. Class availability.

The worst thing about my school is the fact that the main campus is more than 20 miles away from my house; commuting on the turnpike can be a real drag.
