What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Alexandra

Greek life on campus is very popular, but there are also tons of other ways to get involved. There are all kinds of student associations for people from every kind of race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation. There are intramural sports that a lot of students get involved in. On weekends, heading to the Rez is pretty popular. It's a lake owned by the school where you can lay on the beach, rent kayaks and canoes and paddle boards (for free). We even have a wakeboarding club that uses the lake for practice.

There is a big football culture here. Students at Florida State are obsessed with football and have a high amount of school spirit because of it. Students also enjoy going out to bars and clubs as well. As for the dating scene, there are some couples but a lot of students prefer one night stands and to hook up instead. There are a lot of things to do in Tallahassee and campus tries to attract people by having movies run or other things like breakfast for a buck.

The social scene at FSU consists of partying and football games. Greek life is encompassing, people party 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Tallahassee provides some relief to the party scene. There are a cornucopia of good restaurants in the area and in the summer there are many outdoor activities to do if you leave the city.

Greek Life plays a huge role at FSU. The events thrown by the different Fraternities/Sororities on campus are incredible (your time at FSU will always be your Glory Days). The var, sity athletics program is a big part of social life at FSU, whether it be a basketball game, baseball game, or football game the students are always looking for a reason to cheer on the Seminoles! The school also has a steady stream of guest speakers and performers that come to the school, so there is always something to do!

The most popular groups on campus are the Greek life, sororities and fraternities are popular. Also the tennis team, lacrosse, football and rugby. I am involved with the FSU Catholic Student Union; it is very worth it, you will renew your Catholic faith and have tons of fun with your Catholic family whom you can always count on. Some studnets do leave their doors wide open. FOOTBALL is the MOST popular event. FSU is known for its football. Theater is wonderful here. We do hae guest speakers from time to time. If I am awake at 2 am on a Tuesday, then I am most likely studying and listening to the radio. We hae FSU HvZ, the game Humans s. Zombies, made famous by being played during the Halloween weeks. There are plenty of parties at the different sororities and fraternities. Here at FSU, people party A LOT. Fraternities and sororities are very important and BIG here. Last weekend, I went to a house party and played beer pong. You can go see a movie at the FSU Student Life Center on a Saturday night or play tennis, without drinking. When off campus, I ride my horse.

Greek Life is really good here, but not necessary. Our nightlife is the best, there is something to do every night.

The 2009 introduction to the Vagina Monologues!

Greek life is big, but you will still meet a bunch of people if you aren't involved.

FSU Campus Recreation is HUGE. We just opened the largest outdoor recreation complex in the U.S. (The Rec Sportsplex) which is amazing. Dorms are friendly and inviting, and can be loud, noisy, and full of fire alarms depending where you are. The east side of campus is better, however you're required to have a meal plan. But also try for a living-learning community, they MAKE you get involved with the people you live with which is awesome.
