Gateway has good professors, but the administration does not understand the students, their needs, how to provide for the classes, etc. they have been very discriminating against me and my disabilities and have been very forceful about what they want instead of what is needed or permitted/ required under law.

I'm not a student but an employe. The school is a mess. Losing students, no clear focus and top administrators are never around. The provost doesnt answer emails or phone calls and rarely is on campus. Administrators have time for conferences in lush places that have little to nothing to do with their jobs and ignore the work they should be doing.

Gateway has been good for my carerr goal and academics. i have run into a racist professor and a mutlicultural person who seems to have a chip on her shoulder against white people. there was an event on campus that talked about how all white people r to blame four everything.
There r no sports and few things to do outside of class. most students just go home after class. i would love it if there were sports and a fitness center on campus.

Not all counselors can provide the same input on academics as the one before. There was a turn around within departments and left me personally unguided for a bit of time. It became very frustrating when you do not receive information on enrollment in a timely manner. Some teachers are strict and treat adult students like children. There is limited availability of classes online for pre-requisites which limits time with family. As an adult learner and non-traditional student, I need to be able to complete my courses in my free time.

Gateway is a great technical college. The teachers are all very knowledgeable. The ones I encountered have had experience in their field of choice. The choice of degrees is quite varied. They're ones that you know will be in demand. The campus are nice. Some campuses are even beautiful. The food on some campuses are ok (though there's only vending machines on the Burlington campuses). I love how the culinary students are able to practice their skills by making lunch for the students on the Racine campus. Most campuses are safe. The only campus that may have safety issues is the Racine campus, but I wasn't really fearful for my life on that campus. So if you want to get a degree in a good field for a cheap price, choose Gateway Technical College.

Gateway Technical College has always been very welcoming and helpful. The classes are normally very small giving the teachers a lot of time to be hands on and work with the students. Personally, my teachers were very supportive and involved in helping me become the best I could be.

I love the accessibility and understanding of the instructors. The tuition is very reasonable and there are a lot of activities for on-campus students. The Racine campus is located on Lake Michigan and it is makes doing homework enjoyable when you step outside to the benches. I attend classes online and am active duty military. The instructors have been very understanding of my obligations and are always there to assist. I love Gateway Tech!

Gateway is a pretty decent school for a technical college. The school provides a lot of useful programs for the students varying from job searching programs to financial aid help. The teachers I've had at the campus that I go to have been quite friendly and helpful as well.

I really like Gateway Technical College. I transferred from Alverno and the environments are similar. The class sizes at Gateway are a nice, comfortable size and I like knowing what my grade point average is all the time, which is different from where I transferred from. I like knowing how well I'm doing in the class.

Gateway Technical College is an amazing community college. They offer over five different campuses in Southeastern Wisconsin with a variety of different degrees and certifications to learn. It is an affordable college that accepts payment plans and pay all upfront. Every one is always very nice and the professors are always there for you.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior. I would say to work a lot harder than I did my senior year. The transition into college is a lot harder than people think. Especially if you have a lacking sort of attitude. So buckle down and get moving. College waits for no one.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing that I consider a pain in the butt is the numerous user name ID/passwords that are required to enter the various sites that Herzing has to offer. To log into any online class through Herzing Blackboard, I have to enter user name ID/password, which is standard. If I want to see to my schedule for the future terms, I log onto another website. The logins that I used to enter three sites are completely different. It is hard to remember the various passwords for the numerous sites and becomes challenging when trying to access information.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I brag to my friends about my school, I tell them that the staff are very helpful, the classes are flexible to fit my schedule, and they make sure that I am on the right track towards achieving my goals.
In my opinion the best thing about Gateway Technical College is the class sizes. You get more one on one time with the professors and they actually treat you like a person, not just another face.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wasn't able to add t the college that I attend in Kenosha, WI - Herzing University.
I wish that I would have had the college experience. I started college full-time online with Kaplan University in 2009 and grew accustomed to working on my time. Currently, I attend an evening College Algebra class from 6-10 PM two weekdays per week for this particular term. I wish I would have had the college experience before I made the decision to enroll with online schooling (Kaplan) so I would utilize my time between being a student and a mother/wife.
