What do you consider the worst thing about Howard University? Why?

The worst thing about my school is the neighborhood that it is located in. The neighborhood isn't very safe. Students must use percaution and walk in groups when going off campus. Also it isn't wise to walk around the campus late because it is an open campus meaning that anyone can just walk on to the campus.

We don't have the best facilities in the world to assit us in receiving the best education possible.

It isn't very environmentally conscious. Security is strict in the worse ways. Hard on visitors of residents, but loose tempermantly. Books are pricey. The math department.

The administration. Sometimes the employees working in the administration building seem t o not know what they are doing. If you were to ask them a question they may be unsure of the answer or give you conflicting information. Also, financial aid takes a long time to process your scholarships or loans.

In my opinion, I have had numlerous encounters with the faculty at the University. I feel that the faculty are only there to accept a paycheck and not to meet the student's needs.

The worst thing about Howard is that the social organizations sometimes overtake the school. A large majority of the students are looking to join fraternities and sororities, and they allow that to control their personalities and what activities they choose to participate in on campus. For example, organizations that do not have Greek affiliations have a harder time finding active members because being involved in the organization will not better that member?s chance of being accepted into a fraternity or sorority.

The worst thing about my school is the amount of money allotted to students. There should be more money for low-income families

Jai

They don't offer finanacial aid for students who would qualify for it at other Universities.

Toi

The housing availability & the employees in the administration building.

Personally, due to my socioeconomic status, the worst part is the little financial aid they offer students, and how expensive everything is. I'm ready to drop out of school due to the expenses.
