What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Find a school that fits, don't wory about how much it cost at first, everything will work out in the end. Students, if you can see yourself there it is a phenomenal thing; you will feel right at home, you will be more involved and do better in school if you enjoy where you are. Parents, don't decide where your child decides to go to school, let them decide on their own, it will mean more to them if they go to a school because THEY truely want to be there rather if you pick it for them, but do help them in their decision making just remember the final decision is not yours.

What's unique about your campus?
The best thing about my school is the sense of community. Everytime you walk to class or into the cafeteria, you know everyone you see. Everyone is always extremely helpful and caring, and there is a definate sense of unity among all the students. The professors here are also really helpful and a substantial part of the community feel. If a student needs anything from a professor, he/she can very easily contact that professor and recieve the necessary information on the same day. Overall, attending Immaculata is a stimulating and enjoyable experience for everyone who chooses to do so.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before coming to this school I wish I would have known more about the environment during the weekends. Being a student that is far away from home I knew I would be staying on campus over the weekends, and I wish I had known about the fact that alot of people that come to this school go home on the weekends. As long as any future student gets involved like I did, then they will have no problem with the lack of people that stay on weekends. As long as any future student gets involved they will love Immaculata University.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The spirit of this university is very unique. There is a great sense of home and family that resides on this campus, especially if you live on campus. Here, people you don't even know always smile and say hello to so as you walk to class. Being a catholic college often, nuns live in the same dorms as the students an even in the sames halls. There is a certain sense of respect that students have because of the presence of the sisters and this is unlike any other university that i know an i love it!

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I realize my school is a Catholic University but sometimes I feel that the Catholic part is a little too engrained. Sometimes in classes even classes that are not theology or religion based I would hear or find that being interjected somehow in the conversation. Sometimes I thought it was not such a great idea. Also I want to live on campus next year and I was informed the financial aid would be more than sufficient and now their word is being changed and saying it isn't.

What are the academics like at your school?
Class sizes are small, allowing for individual attention. The professors go out of their way to make sure that the students get the help they require. Professors have offices on campus and are more than willing to help anyone that drops by. Each student is assigned an advisor that helps them plan out their schedule each semester. Tutoring is free and there is a tutor for almost every class. If there is not a tutor for a class that you need to be tutored in, the Tutoring Center will find a tutor for you. Many professors include attendance/participation as a part of your grade.

What are the most popular classes offered?
I don't know that is any one class that is most popular. It would be hard to determine which classes are the most popular because of core, major, and minor requirements.
However, there are professors who's classes are almost always full.
Because we are a small school, the required classes run every semester or every other semester, but the extra classes tend to change. Every semester there's something new and exciting to take. For example, last semester, the English Department offered a class on graphic novels. This semester, the Honors Program and History Department is offering a class on the Holocaust. Professors are always looking for new material to teach and new classes to add.

What are the most popular student activities/groups?
There are many clubs, groups, and activities at Immaculata. If you cannot find a club that you want to join, faculty and staff will help you create your own club. There is a group on campus that plans events for the weekends and it is rare to find a weekend without a dance or some other event. The dorms are pretty nice. Each dorm is air conditioned and heated. All of the dorm rooms have a sink in the room except for the suties (they have a connecting bathroom). Immaculata is very tradition based. These traditions range from the class ceremonies (pinning, the ring ceremony, graduation) to ringing the bell by a statue.

Tell us about your professors.
When I came to Immaculata for an open house, one of the big selling points for me was that the professors who where introducing me to my prospective department knew about me before I even entered the room. They obviously had taken the time to review my file before I can to open house. They cared about who I was and what I was interested. I wasn't just another number to add to their department.
That type of attention has continued throughout all of my four years here. While I've had professors who have not been my favorite, in every class I've felt as though the professors cared about my success as a student and a person.
Almost all of my friends have at least one professor whom they have grown close to and can go to for advice or for just a casual conversation.

Describe the best and worst parts of the social scene on campus.
Student Development and Engagement works to ensure that there are plenty of activities on campus for students to attend. Such events include, Sunday Family Dinner once a month, Cotillion and other various dances throughout the year, and movies played in the theater throughout the semester. In addition, other clubs and organizations hold events such as The Variety Show and Volley-A-Wish.
Although changing, many students still go home on the weekends. Also, there are few areas on campus where students can truly hang out.
