I love Indian Hills Community College. My teachers never leave a question unanswered, and never make me feel as if I am asking a dumb question. They all have let me know their exact expectations for assignments. They are quick to reply to their email. One teacher in particular lets me hang out in her classroom between classes even though she does not have to. All of my teachers attempt to make the experience enjoyable. I like the small-campus feel. Overall, I like the college a lot.

I think that Indian Hills Community College is an excellent school for people who aren't able to pay for expensive tuition at a university or people who want to continue their education. They offer a great class size for the most part and instructors are always fast with responses through email and are always willing to help you with anything.

I love the environment and how well things are organized. I enjoy the health sciences building, the professors and students around make you feel welcomed and we all know we are all there to learn and move on with our careers. The professors and instructors are there to help us succeed and not out to get us.

I wish the Centerville campus was bigger but Ottumwa campus is amazing! There is lots to do there and its lots more fun I think then Centerville campus. Plus Culinary is taken at Ottumwa campus and their food is AMAZING! In my opinion the teachers are very interactive with their students and try their very best to help us in everything we do and need. If there is info we dont know there is a center on both campuses to help us.

Indian Hills has been a God send for a older adult who is continuing education and has needed lots of questions answered and has needed help with things like my Fafsa and getting around on the computer programs. My academic advisor has helped answer many questions and better prepared me for this next chapter of my life I am so happy that I chose Indian Hills to further my education.

I think it is a great school. Both of my parents went there for college and they lived it too. This is my number one chose of school. If this school was not available I dont think I would find one like it again. I have visited this school quite a few times and I think this is the place that I want to go to college and I would recommend this college to anyone who is looking for a small college and not a big university.
Natalie
My overall opinion of Indian Hills Community college is that it’s a friendly, out going, and gorgeous campus. Staff are really friendly and will help you get you where you need to be.
My first day on campus, I went to the student center building, and I was greeted and they offered me a tour of the campus and willing to help me find my classes.

The college has a great campus for enjoying outside activities. All the staff and very friendly and interacts well with the students. There are many services available to help students on their college journey. Indian Hills is a very diverse college with a large number of opportunities for those that attend.

Absolutely love this school and all my teachers. I hate asking for help, but not a single teacher has seemed annoyed with me when I needed some assistance, and several have actively voiced their opinions on helping me succeed inside and outside of the classroom. I think I made an excellent choice when choosing this school, and I will definitely recommend it to all my friends wanting to achieve higher education at an affordable cost.

I think that Indian Hills gets a bad rap just because it is a community college, but honestly, I really love it. I love the class sizes. I love that the teachers take interest in your life. The staff is happy and helpful. Facilities are clean. Everyone that goes here and work here are generally good people that want you to succeed.
Keenan
its a great school to come here to learn. overall no matter what your going to get a great education because your professors push you to the max on learning. the people here are great. you will feel safe as always nothing to worry about. i give this campus an A+
Kaitlyn
There needs to be work done with communication from staff to students. That is the main issue I have heard collectively. Workers at the One Stop place are terrible at communicating what needs done and when, often leading to confused students and broke parents.
Rhiannon
I think its an affordable option for people in the community.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Hey Cortney!
Wow, it's pretty crazy--you're a high school senior. As you get ready to enter college this fall, I just want to tell you that you can stop worrying so much. You're classes and teachers are an adjustment, but it's defintely not something you can't handle, and I know that for a fact! And don't think you're going to get there and not know a single person!! There are people from all over that you know, but lots of other people left to meet. And guess what?! Some of those people will become your best friends. So when August finally arrives and you get settled into your new room, don't worry about whether you'll find your classes on time, if the teachers are easy to get along with, or who you'll sit with in the cafeteria because everyone else is thinking the exact same thing. So just relax and enjoy your last few months of high school because college will work out great. You're gonna love it!
Best of luck,
Cortney 1-11-10
I think the best thing about my school is that it is small and more community oriented. The classes are also smaller so that instructors can have more time to help and be more acquainted with the students. It's a great please to start out if one is a bit nervous about the whole college experience because there is more one-on-one time with the insturctors.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known that college isn't anything like high school. There isn't near as much pressure on academics, athletics, and you are free to be your own person with out having to conform to the preconceived idea of who you are supposed to be. There are lots of people and different types of people that you can befriend. There are so many more opportunities than high school so it just takes a matter time to find your own unique niche.
Anyone who is unsure of what they want to persure as a career should start at Indian Hills. The transition into college is smooth and it is very active in the community by providing classes on a variety of subjects so people of all ages attend my school. It's a great place to test the waters before plunging in.
My classmates are people that, while in high school, I probably would not have ventured out to get to know, but now i find them to be some of my closest friends and most important people in my life, and who I truly cherish for their many unique qualities that they offer.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I would say that the most frustrating thing is that there are so many students there, that I cannot ever find a parking space at most of the buildings I have classes at.
