They are all very nice and helpful. No matter how much of a diverse group they are, they are a family.

There is a strong sense of community between my classmates at James Madison. While the school size is growing, JMU is still small enough to where each individual student feels like an integral part of the James Madison community. Students often share common stories of balancing a challenging academic work load, social life, and the ever elusive quality night's sleep. Despite students ranging from all over the world, we are able to appreciate our differences, which gives a sense of family. Truly a home away from home.

My classmates at Jame Madison are all very nice people. They are all open and willing to talk when I sit near them in class or even just approach them and some of them I have gotten to know on a more personal level.

Ambitious and world traveled, many of the students who graduated James Madison University came from the suburbs of Washington DC, Richmond and Hampton Roads, Virginia. Most of the students were well versed in world events and many of the students cared deeply for the world and communities we would impact post-graduation. This is an important trait of JMU students. When they mentioned to us to "be the change"you want to see, most of the students took this advice seriously. Many of them have done just that regardless to the profession they chose to work in.

The students here are great. It is a very relaxed and accepting community where anyone can be happy I think. On the Commons, on any given day, there are a ton of different clubs and organizations raising money for a good cause. A couple weeks ago, two guys on the bus were casually discussing current events. This is definitely a socially aware environment and getting out into the community and into the world is highly encouraged with things like the Alternative Break Program.

As I said when first describing JMU stereotypes, it is easy to say that students are extremely diverse here. There are a good amount of organizations that cater towards specific interest and orientations in life. These people are all accepted, and in most classes different types of people always end up becoming good friends. This is what makes JMU such a great community and provides a prosperous environment for learning and making new connections. All students are engaged in what is going on in the world and this is a good thing. A lot of kids come from wealth but recognize what life has to offer when you're not greedy. JMU has proven to me that I will make a lot of money when I get out of college and most kids have that general attitude of success.
