La Salle has professors who are very invested in a students education. Philadelphia is a great city to explore and have fun. Classes are easy to get into. Facilities are nice. Campus is not large and easy to get around. On campus townhomes for students are nice living area

This review is in reference to La Salle Universitat Ramon Llull. It is a nice school, with a clean and pretty, yet small or compact campus. The classrooms are nice, and there are many resources. If it were a public school, I would rate it highly, but it is private and you are paying for what you get. For the most part I have had good experiences with the teachers, and if you work hard, you are given all the tools to succeed. I will say the online campus leaves much to be desired and there is room for improvement there.

I have mixed emotions about LaSalle. On one hand the campus is very small which means you know a good handful of the student body that lives on campus. I think in order to really feel a[art of the school and make friends you have to join a sport or club. I was on the cheerleading team for 4 years and that is how i met some of my bestfriends and really got known/involved around the campus. I think some of the career resources can be better. The tutoring center will forever be my home if you ever need any type of help go there!!!! Also a lot of the professor's are very helpful even more then the career center in my opinion.

Overpriced, many worthless Liberal arts degrees. Not much student independence there due to being stuck in such a rough area. Its easy to stand out in such a small school and know your professors well. Academics are fairly easy, depending on your course of studies.

I believe La Salle is a great school if you're looking for pure academics. The community life fails due to the high demand and concern for setting a high expectations for academics. Not to mention, most of La Salle's professors are older, not to say that's a negative thing but the ways of teaching differs and aren't as successful. You'll be better off going to another university with just ass good of academics in the city with brighter community life.

A great school with a great education with a lot of school spirit. It could use a little bit of work in the freshman housing dorms ,but they have a beautiful library. They care a lot about their basketball program and could use more appreciation toward other sports.

It is great if you love your major. If you don't like it or do not like the department it can be very hard to feel like you are supported as a student. I am in the arts and science department and I love the way that the teachers are always helpful. As a PoC the students can be very sheltered and off putting but that quickly goes away. Try to make friends the moment you get there because it can feel like a such a small school.

La Salle University lacks funding for their science programs and research. If you are planning on attending a graduate program that requires research, I would look into another school. In addition, if you are a pre-medical student, do not attend here. The medical program has been severely diminished and there are no ongoing shadowing programs. The pre-med advisor will not meet with you if you are a first or second year student. However, they do have an excellent business school and there is a phenomenal nursing program. I've been here for nearly 9 weeks and I still get sick off of the food. There are abysmal vegetarian options on campus, it is mainly pasta and they do not have many protein options for vegetarians. The teachers are kind and keep an open door policy. While this school may be more affordable than many other places, remember that funding for programs comes from somewhere. In complete honesty, La Salle University has not found that funding.

it could be better. slight improvements are happening though. As far as academics, you have some good teachers and then, you have a couple of lecturers that have no idea what they're doing. Not the best for parking but great for public transportation takers.

As an out-of-state student, my experience at La Salle University has been somewhat disappointing. While the academics are great, I wish the campus was more energetic. The few campus planned activities never receive large turnouts and the school spirit only lies within its athletes. In addition, there is not much to do outside the immediate campus unless you take a train into center city. The campus is surrounded by a bad neighborhood with little to no stores within walking distance. Students are afraid to walk alone off campus as well as the edge of campus because of the frequency of robberies and incidents. Multiple times I have considered transferring schools to somewhere safer and more affordable, the only reason I have not is because of the wonderful people I have met thus far. I have made healthy and long lasting relationships here at La Salle University and I do not wish to give up on them easily. Despite my distaste for La Salle, I am determined to stick it out and make the most of it.

La Salle University is a great school for those who want to learn in an intimate environment. The class sizes are small and the student are usually intellectually stimulated. The professors are very caring, helpful, and accessible outside of class. There are plenty events that occur throughout the semesters for students to attend for fun!

I love the diversity of this school. I am also meeting new people and learning more about their background. I am involved with many clubs such as Peer Educators, ADP leadership council, Public Health Student Organization, as well as being a Peer advisor to incoming freshmen. I am happy that I am able to lend a helping hand to my fellow classmates whenever it is needed.

The nights and weekend program is the pits. There is very little support for those students and it really needs to be corrected considering we pay just as much for tuition. The building that houses the nursing program is terribly run down and in need of some help. The business center is brand new but they can’t even keep the nursing building from leaking every time it rains

La Salle, in general, is a good school. Dorms could be updated, but other than that the major issues are not the fault of the school, like how dangerous the area is. I get a good education and I enjoy the people I'm with there.

La Salle University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at La Salle University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for La Salle University is 76%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Knowing what I know now about college life, I would have handled high school very differently. I would have payed attention more and tried to apply myself. I did not do bad in high school but I feel as if I did not push myself as much as I should have. I played around and took the things that I was being taught for granted. For example, in high school I thought that Biology was very boring so I did not pay much attention. I payed for it once I came to college and took Microbiology. I had a very difficult time grasping the material because I did not understnad the basics of biology due to my lack of care for biology in high school. I did not do very bad in microbiology, but I know I could have done better if I had payd attention to the things I was taught in my highschool biology class.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about the school is that it is a little on the pricey side. The school does provide a top notch education, but I get the feeling sometimes that I pay so much money and do not see it being put into the school properly. The food is on the poorer side, the dorms are not in abd shape, but could certainly be fixed up and some of the buildings are in need of renovations; nothing is broken or leaking, but just out dated.

  4. What's unique about your campus?

The size and location of the school is probably the best thing. It is small enough that you can get to know everyone you want to know and classes are small, but you get to see a variety of different people throughout the days. The location is right near Center City, so there is always something to do off campus if you decide to take a trip into the city.

  11. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The lack of ethnic diversity is definitly a frustrating thing about La Salle. I'm Hispanic and I grew up in a minority-dominated environment so it was a cultural shock to come to the predominately white population of La Salle. The socio-economic status is middle to upper class, which differs from my lifestyle. All in all, La Salle lacks diversity, and I think it hurts their image. Another frustrating element is the constant alcohol abuse. The majority of the students party with alcohol, which has comprimised the university's image within the community.

That the size of my school is perfect! It's big enough that I can get the classes I need WHEN I need them... but it's small enough that I can't walk 5 minutes without saying hello to someone I know (even if it's only by name or face).

  17. What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?

There are not many "stereotypes" at my school. Most of them are taken as jokes as with any other school so they are not always accurate.

  18. What is the stereotype of students at your school?

Alot of the Jersey kids are stuck up. The campus is dangerous. La Salle has a ton of law suits A lot of the staff are rude and unresponsive. They sweep everything under the rug. Predominantly White. Only one Black Fraternity on campus. Super expensive. The dorms are cockroach filled, and incredibly hot or freezing. They need more teachers. Showers and toilets are almost always digusting or broken. Do not supply tutoring in the subjects that you really need.

  19. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

Alot of people are really nice. SOME staff is another story, especially the security working in the dorms and people who work for student housing. One woman...her CA duties has gone completely to her head. She's very nasty to the students. She fails to realize that we pay her.Another misconception..Philadelphia is dangerous and there is nothing to do. Ive grew up in Philly so ofcourse I'll know where to go to have fun and that doesnt involve drinking etc. Fun like shopping, sight seeing, shows etc. People who arent from around here like to go to south street and think they have fufilled their Philadelphia experience. NOT TRUE. the danger thing, I'll be the first to say that Philadelphia as a whole is not dangerous but the campus sure is. The one block stretching from the church to the cafeteria is safe but you also have people coming up from the neighborhoods looking around etc. There has been many security alerts this year and LaSalle can do alot better with that. People have continuously been robbed until recently when they arrestted two people after some uproar. That is one of the main things I do not like. But I do walk around during the day and early night (on campus) and I feel safe majority of the time. I have not encountered any danger myself. Their dorms suck...that is true but there is also a few that are nice. I would suggest tearing them all down and rebulding but ofcourse they wont do that. Alot of my furniture has to be as old as the dorm I live in which was built in 56. I also have a curtain for a closet door which I think is strange. There are a few dorms that are fairly nice but they rate who gets them on a point system so better get straight A's if you want to have air conditioning in your room.
