Lakeland University is a great school to attend. It is a private 4 year institution. It has many great aspects which includes access to campus housing, a shuttle bus for students without a vehicle, great class sizes, a good selection of majors and minors, great professors, and an amazing learning environment. There is also a lot of room to get involved on campus there are academic clubs, sports, and Greek life. It’s not a very big school and there are a lot of out of state students including myself. Lakeland in my opinion ranks a 4 out of 5.

Lakeland is a great school with professors and staff who genuinely care about the well-being of their students. The community is small and close knit. Classes are small which allows for as much one on one interaction with the professors for every student to be able to learn the way they do best.

The atmosphere of Lakeland University is geared toward higher learning. The graduate program is strict and full of challenges; which is needed for a career in the Clinical Mental Health field. The instructors are knowledgeable and available for students to work on their projects and gain a better understanding of their coursework. I would recommend Lakeland University to anyone in the Northeast Wisconsin area looking to further their career.

Lakeland University provides a rigorous education and all of the tools needed to succeed. Professors and administrators are knowledgeable and attentive. I have attend two colleges in the past and Lakeland's student services and resources absolutely blow the competition out of the water.

Great School over all. All of the staff and students are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. From my personal experience, I have had nothing but fun and laughter. The food is wonderful, especially since the new addition. I am very excited to see what my future holds with my Lakeland education.

Lakleland University is a school to go to if you want a family atmosphere. Since we are in the middle of a cornfield information gets around faster than you would want it too. The campus has a nice size for the small amount of students and people attend from everywhere around the country.

Lakeland University is a school perfect for those people wanting to continue playing collegiate sports (Division III) while still having time for their academics. I would recommend Lakeland for students who want a small school atmosphere in a place where it feels like a second home. You are guaranteed to know everyone on campus within a matter of a month. While not every area of study is the strongest, Lakeland University prides itself on its business and exercise science majors.

I am from Indiana and when I am at Lakeland I feel like I am at home. I play on the football team and the coaches care about their players not only on the field but also off the field. They help anyone that needs it academically. The professors are great and are always there to help the students. I would recommend Lakeland to anyone.

I love Lakeland because it is so personal. Everyone knows everyone and the professors truly care about all of their students and helping them succeed. I am very close with my professors and with their office hours, they are readily available to help students in coursework.

Lakeland is a small community where almost everyone knows each other. Because it is a small, rural town, we participate in as many extra curricular activists around campus as possible. There are plenty of resources and faculty to help with courses and internships as well as finding jobs after you’ve graduated.

Lakeland College, now known as Lakeland University is like home to me. I came here a year before graduation high school, with my cousin. I sat through the parent meetings with my mom and grandma. After hearing all about Lakeland I literally looked at my mom and told her, "I want to come here". I had other schools in mind like UW Greenbay and Ohio State but after hearing all the faculty, staff and students talk about the things at Lakeland I was sold. Lakeland has been a home away from home for me. I love everything about it, such as; 24 hour security, student;teacher ratio, and all the extra-curricular activities they provide whether it is academic-wise or just on-campus fun.

Lakeland can be better at helping students with the accepting process and breaking down tuition. Lakeland is a great school with 2,000 something students. Lakeland is a growing school with little in the area but a few things to do on campus. You'll get to know everyone so there should be no reason to feel unsafe. Lakeland is a big family, if you open yourself people wont mind embracing. I play sports and compared to other schools your not just a number your a person and if you feel as though the school may not be right for you they'll show you why it is. Other schools say they would love to have you but Lakeland means it 100%. Get good grades, graduate, be employable!

I love going to Lakeland College, they are very accommodating to students needs. I graduated from a technical college with my associates in Accounting and I applied to Lakeland College so I could get my Bachelors or CPA. They accepted all 72 of my credits from my associates degree so that put me at a Sophomore/Junior status. I love all of the options for classes and the class times. The teachers I have had have all been great too

Lakeland has its pros and cons but overall it is a great college. you get to meet a lot of new people and the bibe is always so positive. There is always a helping hand anywhere and anytime. I didn't 5 starred it because there is no such perfect schools.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Here is the advice I'd give myself:
College is easy for some and not for others. A 4 year college can be confusing with registration and knowing what you need to do to be prepare for graduation. I would suggest that if you don't know what you want to major in, certainly start with something cheaper such as the technical college and complete some generals there. By followign this path, you'll give yourself some time to learn about yourself and learn about what you really want to be in life. This option also is cheaper, saving you some money. The technical college works every well with their students to understand college life and you won't be lost as far as not knowing what classes to pick out and what to do next. Jumping right into a 4 year college can make you feel like you are lost and noone 's around to help.
The availability of help for students who are struggling academically. There are tutors, nightly study groups and professors are always available to help those who request it. If you are in a sport, your coach may hold mandatory study groups for players who are under a certain grade.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Cost, that's the big thing. Every school is different and the finicial help is different too. One school I wasn't having to take out a lot of loans. Now that I am at Lakeland I see myself taking out the most I can. Finicially, a education is better for my family, but it's not easy when you have little money to being with. I wish I knew how much help I would have been getting because it's hard to get out of debt when you go further in.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing isn't even that bad. I have been an untraditional student for a few years now, and the hardest part is not getting to know your professors or students. I love that I can do my classes at home, but I sometimes do miss the classroom setting.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I brag about my school it is usually about the accounting program. Lakeland College has a very good accounting program and a high success rate for students taking the CPA exam. Also, I like how helpful the professors are and how quickly they respond to emails.
My school is best known for offering blend ed classes. That is where a student can have the option of coming in the classroom or doing a course online. Lakeland also has classroom flexibility where you can attend classes in the mornings or at night.
This school, especially the smaller satellite campuses, is very focused on academics, rather than total campus life and involvement. The school also understands that many of its students are also full-time working adults, which makes working adults the ideal candidate for this school. The instructors plan the curriculum to incorporate many different styles of learning to maximize the learning potential for all of the students in the class. This seems to have the benefit of increasing the understanding of concepts without unnecessarily enlarging the workloads.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
85% of students attending Lakeland University receive some sort of financial aid.
39% were awarded federal grants.83%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
