I’m so glad to be here. I started my education at Merrimack and thought I would have a culture more like this one. I love the feel and culture at the school with the staff and students. The surrounding community is safe and welcoming. I believe I can contribute and grow as part of the Lasell community. We are a university now so your page should adjust that but it’s all good.

Mylena

Lasell has given me many opportunities, that I would have not encountered if I had committed to another school. The tight knit community is a huge part of Lasell, and it really is what makes it so special. Not only are students close with one another, but you also get chance to build connections with the faculty here on campus.

Isabelle

As a current student of Lasell, I love attending this school! It has given me so many opportunities to learn and grow through hands-on experience in and outside the classroom, through clubs and leadership, and through the friends and connections I've made. Everyone here is very friendly and the school wants to see you succeed. You are not just a number. As a first-year student last year, the community was really welcoming and the staff and support really want to see students flourish. I would recommend for first-year students to get involved on campus as it really sets you up to make amazing friends and have fun!

Rebecca

Lasell is a great school. The faculty and staff have real world experience and connections, take time to get to know you, and really help you tailor your classes and projects to your interests and passions. The extra curriculars are also great for helping provide hands on experience that you can use in real world settings.

Erica

When I started my education at Lasell I really liked it. As I started to grow within my educational studies I realized that there were a lot of things that the college lacked, one being the inactive advisor that we are assigned according to our majors. I feel that in college, especially when you are looking at graduation, it would be helpful if your advisor replied to their emails and made efforts to guide you to your next step. I wish my advisor would step up, but I felt lost most times and had to struggle on my own. I wish Lasell cared more about writings and took pride in other majors and not the one most students take at the university.

Julia

I am so happy with my choice to attend Lasell and could not have picked a better school. This university gives you real world industry experience while still in school, and so many opportunities to explore in your field. I feel very well prepared to find a job in my industry post grad after all of the experience I already have while attending this school for two years. There is always something fun to do on campus, and you do receive a lot of individual attention which is great for building connections with faculty and staff.

Emily

I love Lasell. I have been having so much fun here. There are always different events happening on campus. I love being involved on campus and joining clubs and organizations. There are so many different clubs and there is definitely a club for everyone. I have also made some awesome connections with my professors here. There are so welcoming, kind, and helpful. I know that if I ever need help with anything I can always reach out to them.

Sophia

Overall great for academics. Professors go out of there way to help you succeed. Location is great, perfect distance from the city. One thing they need to work on is the food. Please make it better. All the class buildings are in great shape and most of them are brand new.

Alexis

Lasell offers its students so many opportunities to succeed and find their passions. I didn’t realize how much I love to write until starting at Lasell, but when I did, I quickly switched my major to Journalism. I also found my passion for fashion and media through the clubs I became a part of, and am now working as a social media intern in Boston. My professors at Lasell have been very beneficial to my success and finding my internship! I was never focused on these things in high school, but Lasell offered me the chance to find my passions and has offered me every chance to succeed. If anything, sometimes there are too many opportunities and I get stressed because I don’t have time to take advantage of them all! Lasell has so many clubs and activities, there’s something for everyone. This has been a great way for me to connect with people, and some of my closest friends I’ve met through my involvements in the Lasell community.

Emily

I love spending time on campus and there is always something going on for events. There are a ton of clubs on campus here too. The professors and advisors want to see you succeed and will help you anytime. There are also a lot of variety for classes and there are some really fun ones that you can take.

Rayana

As a student, I have overall enjoyed my experience at Lasell. The location alone is incredible, and has presented me with so many benefits. Being located so close to Boston has allowed me to experience so much socially, while also having a quiet place to come back to at the end of the day. I also have enjoyed the small class sizes and feel as though I am getting the most one on one attention from professors when I truly need it.

Brennen

Lasell is in Newton, Ma meaning that it has a very home like feel because it is quietly tucked in a neighborhood. There are small classes of under 15 or 20 students so it makes it feel more of a family than a class. The student body is one of the kindest ones you will ever meet. It is also 8 miles from Boston with just a 13 minute drive!! There is also a train station next to the school that can take students right to Boston for a day or night out!

Amanda

I truly love Lasell. I think people are quick to complain about things around campus, but all the faculty and staff are so thoughtful and truly care about the students so any issues that you may have are easily solved when you let someone know. There is always something to do around campus, whether it be an event put on by a school club or organization or a party in someone's room, big or small. The class sizes are small so professors really get to know you and it makes it much easier to put yourself out there in the classroom and push yourself. Overall I think Lasell deserves a lot of credit and if I had to choose a college all over again I would absolutely choose Lasell.

Jasmine

I am a current student at Lasell University and choosing to go to Lasell is hands down one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. The campus is exactly what I was looking for coming from a very small high school it was very easy for me to go get accustomed to the class sizes. I have personally lived in the Victorian Mansion residence hall option since my freshman year and I truly attribute my easy transition to living away from home to living in the Victorians on campus. Living in these historical houses really gave me a sense of home although I was not with my family; I also made very close connections with my housemates which made it an even more exciting place to live. I have gone to every single drama club performance at Lasell since my freshman year at the school. The club is filled with insane talent and they seem to have a very close connection with each other. The fall musicals are my favorite event every year; the school even partners with Regis College becuase we have outgrown our on-campus auditorium. I have also attended the fashion show every year for senior design majors and I am always blown away by the creativity. I have also loved going to a few sporting events when I get the chance. I mainly frequent soccer games and basketball games, both sports have a lot of school spirit at all of the home games as well as the local away games. There is always lots of high energy cheering our student-athletes on to victory. The dining services are rather good in my opinion. I have found every single staff member to be very accomodating and friendly. The food choices are always changing and the staff makes a valiant effort to take student feedback/suggestions into consideration when prepping for the next week ahead. There are a few stations that are always changing but there are also certain stations that you can always rely on like the pizza oven or grill. My personal favorite station is the stirfry station becuase you can customize what is going on your plate every time and the chef will make it right in front of you.

Stephanie

I absolutely loved my time at Lasell especially the campus life. On the weekends you will always find students attending various sporting events on campus. I love the support Lasell students have for one another and that really shines in athletics. I spent time as an athlete on campus for my first 2 years and absolutely loved it. It brings upon a great feeling of support on campus and it is a great way to get involved and meet new people.

Lasell College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Lasell College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lasell College is 76%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to join clubs right away, to fill the hole that not being physically able to play soccer would make. If I had joined clubs and been more involved on campus right away, I would have had more fun during my freshmen year and would have been more confident in myself. I would have known that I am someone beyond just being an athlete, and that having once been an athlete does not define who I am- I can survive and be social without clinging to sports.

  6. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is most likely the food. There isn't much variety and I basically live off pasta everyday. In a small city like Newton and with no car, you're basically forced to eat at the dining hall. This means the same basic food everyday.

  7. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about Lasell is the lack of school spirit. The clubs and organizations try to put on fun, interactive events, but a lot of the time, nobody even knows they're going on. Because we don't have a football team, we miss out on events surrounding games, but we do have other sporting teams. It would be nice if more people knew when games were going on so we could not only support our teams, but also have events for them. Although I am involved with clubs, I still want to cheer on my school.
