A great school so far, but the food can definitely be better. Classes are like high school, even when lectures have lots of students, they get broken up into sections making it easier to focus. Housing is ok but there is toilet paper shortage and sometimes the bathrooms are unclean.

Lawrence Technological University is in general a very good school with some of the best engineering related programs in the state. The school retains small class sizes and a small campus while having the same amount of resources of a much larger state school. The professors are all professionals in their respective fields and are all very knowledgeable. Dormitories on campus are very new except for the senior housing. The campus is very quiet and has very minimal party activities. The organizations on campus are smaller but there is still quite a few options but it is not prioritized.

It is a relatively small college, maybe 3,000 students, which makes access to your professors very accessible. For sports, there is football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, and marching band. Because of the size of the college, there is only one Cafe on campus, but they offer a variety of dishes every day. My classes are very hands-on, which helps me learn, and there are many internship opportunities.

This school felt like home, as soon as I stepped on campus. The dorms for both freshman and upperclassmen are a decently large size, and the class sizes are small, usually about 20 students. And, they also offer a large scholarship for going into a STEM accredited program. And, there is a number of student and faculty interactions, and also activities to find around the school.

I love LTU! I came here for the rigor of their degree and the connections they have to local industry. You definitely get what you came for here if that is your mindset. I feel like by the time I graduate, I will have many connections with people who will go on to be very successful leaders!

Overall I believe that this a great school for people who are doing architecture and engineering. For those that are doing anything else should be able to apply for other schools. In terms of professors, they typically are a hit or miss. They could possibly teach you or they could have you teach yourself, you never know what you might get. The social life aspect of LTU is something that is the main concern. The concern that is the biggest is the number of underlying issues that happen among the student body. Overall this is a good student body though that works together well in the specific groups that they fit into.

The college allows you to have a better one on one time with your professors do to the smaller class sizes. Lawerance tech is the type of university that works with there students to solve any problems they may have to ensure that they get the best experience at there college. It a great college to enroll in.

Lawrence Technological University is a great place to study. Its small campus size makes it easy to get to classes by feet. You feel bored? There's always something going on. You can watch a Football or Soccer or Basketball game or meet some friends in one of the many lounges on campus.
Ardian - 04/29/2019
I really like the small classes because, it allows more student and professor interaction. The small campus is great for people that like small and to get to class quick so not much driving require. The degrees to get in great careers like engineering can be great.

Overall, I really do love this school and how much it pushes it’s students to be our best. I think the smaller class sizes really offers a special approach towards learning and it helps me a lot. The worst part about Lawrence Tech however, is probably the food. It is tolerable but sub-par at best.
Simon - 07/28/2018
It is a great school if you are more interested in learning than a party centered college experience. I know a lot of my friends went to CMU or MSU and their future is already suffering because they lost scholarships due to their GPA being to low. There is little to do at LTU other than focus on an education, so when you graduate you will already be making more money than your friends and having more fun for the rest of your life.

I could not be more happy with the time that I have spent here at Lawrence Tech. My professors are extremely kind and friendly people. They are so passionate about everything they do, and genuinely care about me while helping me succeed in any way that they can. I have had classes as small as five or six people and I am so grateful for the intimate class sizes. I have learned so much from only two years of being here. I could not be happier with my college experience so far.
Lizzy - 03/12/2018
I love the school and my time at it, it has its flaws like food and smaller problems but it makes up for it in its people and its curriculum. It is a journey I would do again in a heartbeat if it were a bit cheaper. The price is asking a lot but I have had talks with friends at other universities and they say that they wished their college experience was like mine.

It's a very good school with attentive teachers and nice people. Not much to do on campus but I commute anyways. I Teachers really care about whether or not students pass or fail, and maybe that's because the school has a rule against curving grades. But registering for classes every semeseter can be a hassle.
Henry - 01/16/2018
I love the class sizes and opportunities they talked about during my visit, but the university is also very pricey. I hope I can get the financial aid necessary to get here with minimal debt because this school showed me that their curriculum meant business. I could apply what I learn directly to the career I wish to go into (once I apply that is).
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lawrence Technological University is 69%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would advise myself to finish my senior year at an engineering prep school so that my transition to a really demanding engineering private school would be easier. Also so that I would be on the same page as the other students who had great advantages over me like: having successful family members who are engineers, or having been to many engineering camps as a young child, or having many resources and higher incomes.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Amazing balance of Theory and Practice. Top of class instructors, small class sizes, very friendly and helpful faculty. Amazing student project and group opertunities.
When you say that you go to LTU. People usually have no idea, unless they are involved with the community.
Our Architecture program is very involved and highly technical, thus University of Michigan vacuums up many of the undergrads to form a great Architectural Grad Program (Top in US 2010) I just wish we could have more recognition.
The professors all know you by name. The best classes are the social sciences, they make you think about a broader classical perspectives, plus they make writing well a big deal. The professors will always spend time talking with you. Students come with a team focus, but you have to perform individually. The Academic reqs. could use a shake up (thats coming from a senior).
What is the stereotype of students at your school?
The typical stereotype at Lawrence Tech is divided between three types of students: Inspired (Architecture & Design), Disciplined (Engineering), Visionary (Business & Arts & Sciences). They all however have one outstanding feature: Determination, this is because the costs associated with LTU sap all indecision out of the programs participants. Everyone is focused. This focus can be fun if you want to apply yourself.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
