College is a wonderful place where one experience life being on his or her own and pursuing a life-long career. The advice I would give to parents and/or students about finding the right college is choosing a college that has the field of study they are interested in and also the right atmosphere. When choosing a college a person should pick a college where their social life would not interfer with their school work such as too many activities going on or parties. A person should make the most out of their college experience because the memories and the accomplishments they make only last for a season but it is going to make a tremendous difference in their life.

Make sure that your child is ready to go to college and be serious about their studies. Social life is important for young people but it has it's place and should not rule their lives at college.

The best advice I could give to a student searching for the right college would to be to visit the campus first. When the student visits the campus they should talk to many of the students and faculty to see how well they fit in and how well they like what is offered. Finding the right college is important and the student should really take in consideration all aspects of their life, what they want to do, and where they see themselves in the future.

Choosing the right school is very important. Visit as many schools as you possibly can. Look at all the schools that are going to offer you the mots for what you want to study. And if you don't know what you want to study, then go visit the school, then you will know for sure if the atmosphere is going to help you succeed and find your path. So many of my friends came to Tech not knowing really what they wanted out of their college career, but they knew Tech would be their home for the next 4 years. Atmosphere and feeling at home will be just as important as cost of tuition and the distance from your parents.

The advice I would give to parents or students who are searching for the right college is to accurately and in a timely manner do the research on any college that you have interest in attending. After researching, send applications to every college that you have interest in and then make your decision based on the college you would like to attend by making a personal survey for yourself. I suggest that parent and student, together, make out a survey, rating such things as the financial cost of the each college the student has been accepted to and is interested in, the cost of attendence, tuition, books, and others factors such as gas, distance from home, city, suburb, rural area. After filling out the survey the parent and child should find the college that has the best rating and then make the decision based on the students interest in that college he or she wished to attend.

I think that the best thing to do when looking for a college is to go with your instincts and your first choice. When picking a college you should make sure it has the most of what you are looking for in a college. This includes things like how is the degree program ranked and how are the school living accomidations. When first getting to college the student should try to stay in a dorm their first year and they should also try to get to know as many people as possible. Make sure if you like playing sports join an intramural team its a lot of great fun and you get to know a lot of great people. But the most important thing is to get out as much as you can and have as much fun as you can while still getting good grades and being true to yourself.

Make sure college is really where you need to be. There are a lot of technical and vocational schools that can help you in achieving your goals for life without charging ungodly amounts of money and leaving you in debt for the rest of your adult life. Also, if you don't know what you want, find out soon. A lot of people will tell you that you have all the time in the world to figure out what you want to do with your life-- this is a lie. You have until your scholarships run out and you're left depending on wits and hard work. If you want your 20s to be a happy time, decide expediantly what you need to do to be happy, then do it.

I think it is important to select a college or university that provides adequate financial aid or requires a tuition that is within ones ability to meet. It is imperative during one's years at a college that the student have the time and means to apply ample energy to academic study. This influences your grades. Your grades influence your GPA. To have to work strenuously to afford the college you choose to attend will hamper your ability to provide the necessary amout of time to study and your grades will suffer because of it. It is also important to have time to enjoy yourself. Your college years are some of the best years of your life and you will want to be able to spend time relaxing with friends and finding you own ways to de-stress.

Do not worry about if you're son or daughter will do fine by themselves. You are only a phone call away. Make sure that they are focused on what it is that they want in life and remember to keep an open mind. College kids will do exactly what you did back when you went to school. Let them have fun but make sure that they know their limits and when focus should be put on school. Do not stress. Its not as bad as some make it out to be.
