I think that Macomb is a great transition school out of high school. It really helped me get the hang of college and allowed for a smooth and seamless transition. I played on the women's basketball team and made lots of friends through there. My professors were always extremely nice and helpful. The one thing I would have to critique is the fact that there is no on campus housing. While it is a community college, it is hard to recruit athletes without housing. I also wish the South Campus area was a little nicer and had more restaurants near by. I loved the class sizes because they were smaller and similar to high school.

I entered Macomb Community College as an early college student and my experience has been pretty great. The class sizes are pretty small, which means you get more interaction with your professors. Also, most of the professors are pretty easy to get ahold of which is great if you have questions or anything. Also, the campus is always clean and it is really pretty.

Macomb Community College is an amazing school. I feel all the professors I’ve had are great at what they do, easily accessible, and caring. There is also a wide range of academic programs through them but overall, I’m excited to get my nursing degree from this school.

The professors here are great they always make sure you know they are available whenever you need them. They teach differently but you are able to find your own way of learning for each class. There are many buildings great for studying and social life. On the center campus, they have the perfect little market and cafeteria area for you to meet up with friends, study, and have a snack!

My opinion of Macomb Community College is that it is a clean, safe campus that provides an excellent learning environment conducive for people of all kinds to learn. The staff are approachable and helpful, the buildings are clean, and the overall campus layout is beautiful. I would recommend this college to any other students looking for a good place to learn and good professors to learn from.

This college is very cheap and a fantastic way to start off your college career! I transferred here from Wayne State due to money issues and I'm upset I didn't go here first! SO WORTH IT!!! While the cafeteria is like any other cafeteria with gross nasty and stale food, I am not here for the food, I am here to get one step closer to my degree!

Some of the professors really care about their students and want you to succeed. Macomb Community College is accessible online and on campus and is very affordable. There are a lot of student organizations and the cafeteria food is actually pretty good.

I went to Macomb for two years and obtained by associates degree. During this time, I had multiple professors who worked really hard with me and helped me realize my potential. I learned more in the class rooms when I was there then I do now at my university. I still keep in contact with professors, and they always say "yes" to writing me a letter of recommendation. This school should be a 4 year school solely because of the outstanding professors.

It’s a pretty nice school, the classes aren’t huge which is a huge advantage. The professors are always happy and upbeat, overall great atmosphere. The workload isn’t over bearing. But not too little either, and professors are always open ears when you encounter an inconvenience when it comes to late assignments.

I think this college is a great place to get generals out of the way for half the cost! This campus is close to a mall and lots of food places, so you'll always have access to a variety of food choices. The campus is very safe, even at night. There are police safety buttons all around campus to contact the police if needed. I highly recommend:)

It is a good college to start off at, to eventually lead you into a University. I started in my third year of high school because I was in the amazing early college program and I have not had an issues. The classes they provide can be very difficult and have similar work to a University. Love it!

Its a great school. I am currently in my fifth semester here and I am 18. I am in the Early College of Macomb program where I attend for free for two years in high school and one year after high school. They started us off easy with two classes per semester and worked our way up to a full time student. I will graduate in 2020 with a General Associates Degree, all for free. I have met a lot of people from high school students to grandparents furthering their education for their job. Everyone attends for different reasons and there is a lot of interesting people to have conversations with. The professors are mostly part time and teach or have taught at other big universities like Wayne State. They're all very knowledgeable on the topics they teach and are willing to help every student. There is a free learning center on campus that students can go to to get help with homework along with a free reading and writing center who will help you with anything from an essay to your resume. Macomb has a very nice campus and it's enjoyable to walk around. The staff, students, and squirrels are all very friendly. There is a small cafe with plenty of snacks and there is a student cafeteria for actual food. I have enjoyed attending Macomb and am looking forward to the rest of this semester and the next.

Macomb community college is a pretty cool school filled with tons of teaching and teachable students and are willing to go that extra step to find out what they need to know or learn . The professors are pretty cool and understanding but the deadline is the deadline and that’s that but overall good school

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I was able to go back and explain to myself the transition to college life I would tell myself to not be afraid to ask for help. There are many people that are there to help you excell and make your way through life. Assuming I would still have the same financial need I would tell myself not to wait to apply for scholarships, loans, and grants. Looking at transitioning from highschool where I knew everyone to college knowing nobody, I would say "be yourself, be true to your values and it all will fall into place." There is truly nothing better than being able to make new friends that accept you for who you are and college not only is a time to create a future, but find friends and loved ones that will follow you for a lifetime in your journey. Be prepared to work, college is not about slacking or being lazy, truly make time for yourself and your studies. I would also tell myself to enjoy, these years are not to be wasted.
Most of the classes are easy. I have good teachers. There's not a whole lot to worry about. I can drive my car to and from the school. They really want you to excel in life there.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I have not had anything to complan about. At this point, the Macomb Community College staff has been very helpful. Being 200 miles away from campus makes communication a little challenging at times. Although, my questions and concerns have always been addressed in a timely fashion.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
People that are expecting a grade for just simply paying money and not doing any work should not go to this school. Those students that think that minimal work will get them by as they coast in life should not go to this school. Like all schools, Macomb Community College takes work and time to learn and progressin your educational career.
My classmates are teammates that have a competative look towards their grade and are always willing to give other classmates a hand. They are partners in a project that get excited with new ideas and want to make all of their work grade "A" work.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
What I wish I had known in High school before entering college. The teachers you have in high school are only trying to help you become a successful student in college. The professors that you have in college are only interested in one thing, and that is teaching the information. I wish I would have applied myself in a way where I could easily understand time management, in a manor that would help me as I enter college courses allowing myself to become the best student I could be.
A person dedicated to enriching their life through learning and making connections with a smaller classroom size should attend Macomb Community College. If they have dreams of moving on to a larger college with saving money throughout the way Macomb is the place for them.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
Most frustrating thing about Macomb Community College is the limited amount of class space they have to offer. The average class size at Macomb is 30 students at best, not allowing any more or less to register. This causes quite a problem if you are undecided on the classes you would like to register for on the registration date. With the overwhelming increase of students attending, the odds of being able to actually register for a chosen class is slim to none.
I went to this school because it's closer to me and it's somewhere to start if you're not ready for a university. There's nothing wrong with starting at a community college or go at your own pace.
Where is the best place to get work done on campus?
the library! Everytime I would get out of class, the library is definitely my favorite spot to get things done. Its very peaceful and the computers are always open.
I will never forget the Halloween party at Macomb. At first, I thought about not going due to my anxiety but the way I made friends in a second is something I'm never going to forget. I had so much fun with them and it made me want to be there even more.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
The college have a lot of fun events and clubs. Macomb Community College has a nice organization called student life and leadership. The organization run free stuff give a ways and more. Weekend campus is closed but you can go the performing arts center to see a play or go to the sports expo center to catch a game or event.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
37% of students attending Macomb Community College receive some sort of financial aid.
