Not entirely. Most of the students rioting are NOT MSU students. But we do like to have a good time.

1) Not in my immediate group of friends. I don't like to party and I found friends who don't like to party.
2) I had a couple TA's (for recitation, not lecture) and they were both horrible...

If a person tries, they can find information to support it

Not for all students.

Yes, the school is a lot of fun but you're surrounded with top performers. Being surrounded with high caliber students really brought out the best in me.

Some of those are true and some are, obviously false. The dorm life isnt too terrible nor is it restrictive. The professors....some of the care a great deal if you succeed or fail. My biggest issue was with the ones who dont speak English as a navitve language (or a first or second primary language). Until you get used to them, its very hard to get what they are trying to say. The food is not bad, there are some things that you want to avoid if you dont know what it is...but generally its just greasy and very high in fat/calories. Beware. lol
The biggest thing to watch for is finding a great roommate. Speaking from experience, I had a terrible one my first semester and ended up bitching to the lady in the housing office for a week until I finally got it into her head I wasnt going to quit until I got moved from my room. I now have an amazing roommate whom I will be rooming with again this fall and take to heart when I tell you it really does make all the difference.

We'll yes but you decide if you wan to go out or not.

None of the above stereotypes were accurate and half of the information i was given was not accurate.

This all depends on what you're looking for in a University. If you want to get drunk, then you will. If you want to meet smart and interesting people, then you gotta know where you're more likely to find them. Just be wary. Don't let the "fun" suck you in. You will find assholes. You will find cool people. Understanding which is which is the hardest and most fun part of MSU.

Yes it is a huge party school, with house parties going on at all times. It also does have a fantastic array of degree possibilities, with well-qualified professors (for the most part-there are always exceptions!). And yes, I do believe that MSU has one of the most gorgeous campuses in the nation.
