I am a student that will be attending Morningside College next year. When I stepped on campus it felt like home right away. The school has a great culture and athletics are extremely impressive. They won the football national championship two years in a row and the basketball team is number 1 in the country. I am really excited to be a Mustang next year!

Morningside College affords its students many opportunities, however, there are a lot of financial issues. Also the food in the cafeteria is absolutely horrendous.

Morningside is known for multiple reasons but most importantly for its academics and sports teams. Most students that attend Morningside are there for either a sports team or the nursing/business program. Being a smaller school means that class sizes are smaller and you are able to have a close relationship with your professors and get all the assitance you need. Being a minority student, I have encountered some racial issues on campus as well in the community which is not something I enjoy dealing with. Overall, I enjoy attending Morningside.

It is a great school with great professors. There are a lot of good opportunities for students to expand their horizons. Class sizes are generally small so you have the ability to actually talk to our professors and learn with hands-on activities. The professors and other people really seem to care about you and the on-campus jobs are really flexible.

I love Morningside, because it is such an open and friendly environment. It’s a small town vibe, and help can be found anywhere. Teachers are easily accessible and game days are a huge deal. I love the small campus, because you don’t have to walk too far to classes, especially in the cold.

I felt at home at Mside since my first visit here. I don't know exactly what it is here, but it made me feel more at home than my old home. The dorms are a great way to meet friends and new people. There are also clubs, groups, and activities to become involved in if one chooses too. I am a member of a few bands on campus, the Marching Mustangs, the pep band, and our concert band. There is also a jazz band on campus and they are AMAZING. Mside, overall, is a grand school with an absolutely beautiful campus.

Morningside has a really great atmosphere. Even though we aren't that racially diverse, everyone is really friendly. You might not know every person on campus, but that doesn't stop people from interacting with others in a positive way. The campus itself is also really beautiful!

Morningside has given me so many opportunities I never would have received at another school. The faculty and staff care about you, and want you to be successful. You can be as involved as you want. We have some great sports teams to go watch, some very nice new buildings and a beautiful campus. We are in a city that is the perfect size to have everything we need. It is also ranked as the college with the lowest crime rate in the country.

I love Morningside because of the student to teacher ratio which is 13:1. You get that one on one time with your professors if your in need of assistance. I love the side of Morningside, not big or too small. Everyone knows each other which makes it feel like a family environment. Everyone wants to feel comfortable away from home and Morningside made me feel comfortable, thats why I chose to attend Morningside in fall of 2018. The campus is beautiful, Morningside keeps the grass ad plants looking lively year round. The dorms are clean and cleaned regularly. Morningside is just an amazing school!
Maureen
Morningside has become my second home this past year. I have made many friends on campus. I have become very involved while attending school here. The environment is great and the professors are excellent. I love school so much and Morningside has given me a great college experience.
Nicole
It is a great school and they offer outstanding financial support. They have scholarships for everything from academics to whatever activity you are interested in like sports (basketball, football, soccer, etc.) to band, choir, theater, and e-sports.
Vilita
Morningside is a great school with many activities, events, sports, clubs, and organizations for students to be a part of. Being a smaller school, there is plenty of opportunity to get to know other students and professors which has been great in helping me through college. There are many different classes offered and the advisors at Morningside are willing to help you find the classes that will help you on your academic journey and encourage the exploration into classes outside of your field of study.
Mari
I love it here! Morningside has helped me find a family away from home, while also pursuing the career and major that I have wanted to for years! Honestly, the professors are accessible whenever you need, and the classes are challenging, too. I can't wait to continue my education here.
Beau
Morningside was very well organzied in everything they do. They make sure you know that at the univeristy of morningside you are not just a number, you are part of a life-long family with a bond that will not break. Morningside offers you many opportunities to do something you like even if it is not becoming involved in sports. Every kid has been apart of something big at morningside! Morningside is a wonderful place to be.

Morningside College is a small, close knit, Liberal Arts University nestled in-between three states. The campus is filled with vibrant colors during the spring, summer, and fall, and during the winter it’s white, from all the snow. For being a small college, it offers a wide variety of opportunities and experiences to its students. From meeting presidents and presidential candidates, religious leaders, to Fortune 500 businessmen/women, there are exciting things happening for everyone. Our football team is top notch, for NAIA, and most of the rest of our sports are equally spectacular. An aura of success surrounds Morningside, and they have help you find your true passion in life. Professors go out of their way to create a learning environment all learners can learn from. They are experts in their fields, waiting to impart their knowledge onto eager learners.
Morningside is a great community to be a part of, and they go out of their way to help.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Morningside College is 56%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself not to have taken so many easy classes. I'd say to myself to keep challenging yourself as much as possible and pay attention to everything your teachers are putting in front of you, becuase that's what the professors in college are going to do. I'd also tell myself not to worry so much about the small things because once you're out of that small town everything just seems to dissappear and only the things that really matter will follow you into college.
The best thing about my school is the size of it because the classes are the perfect size for a good learning environment. So you are not just another kid in the class the professor actually knows you by name.
My Classmates are intelligent and never afrain to say what is on their mind. The class and the professor creates a comfortable learning environment where every point of view is respected. Classmates support and challenge eachother all in order to do better.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
It's a small school, so some of the professors do actually care about how you are doing. It is more of a school to go to if you plan on being a student-athlete in college.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When bragging about Morningside I mention the class sizes, around 30 people, and how beautiful the campus is. The faculity is great and there is never a dull moment on campus.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I felt well informed before making my final descision to come to Morningside - I don't think there is anything I wish I had known because I was not surprised by anything.
The person that should attend Morningside needs to be a hard worker, and hands on type of learner, also someone that is prepared for tough classes, and be expected a lot out of.
I think that the best thing about Morningside is the atmosphere. By that I mean that everybody, the faculty, staff and students, are all genuinely nice. It makes it easy to like it here because the kindness is very genuine. One thing I would change about Morningside is that I would love to have more students from a wider range of hometowns. The school is currently trying to get more kids from farther away and I would love to see a wide range of students
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
Because Morningside has a lot of athletes, athletic events are very popular. Especially our football and basketball events. Some of the largest organizations are the student government and MAC. MAC is the counsel that bring all sorts of events and programs to Morningside like comedians, bands, and comics. The social life is pretty lively here, for the most part I would say a great majority of the students at Morningside like to party. But the minority of students that don't are not outcasted in any way, its just more common to meet a student that loves to get drunk on a Saturday night than it is to meet a student who likes to read on a Saturday night.
The academic life is good at Morningside. The largest class I have ever been in was 30 people, but most classes are around 20 people. The professors are very accessible and actually know you. It's very easy to get extra help on schoolwork and to feel like the professors care about how you do in their course.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
These stereotypes, for the most part, are accurate. The majority of the school population are white, and a large percentage of the students are also involved in athletics. But you don't have to be an athlete, there are a lot of other clubs and activities to get involved with such as theater, choir, student government, the television network and the campus radio station. There are a good chunk on students that are not from the Midwest, and a lot of kids come from all different kinds of backgrounds.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Morningside College receive some sort of financial aid.
37% were awarded federal grants.74%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
