My first attraction to Nichols College was the size of the college. I didn't want to be stuck in a lecture hall packed with hundreds of other students. From the moment I walked on Nichols College, I felt it was more of a close-knit family atmosphere where I would receive the support from not just the faculty but also the students. I loved the quieter atmosphere so that I could focus more on my academics and personal growth. I wanted the easier access to professors and advisors who were able to get to know me on a personal level. I also loved the beautiful campus of Nichols. It seemed like a family and it has become my second home.

I really enjoyed the campus and it was small enough that everyone knows everyone. The community is really connected and is good at coming together. The forms are nice and even have their own bathrooms. Everyone at the school is very nice and I have multiple people say hi to me.

Nichols college is a place I have admired driving through every day. It is a prestigious business school with many extra curricular activities to take part in, and many opportunities to make college a fantastic experience. I am extremely impressed with the Nichols college campus and the people there, as they are extremely nice and well mannered.

My opinion is Nichols College is extremely advanced. The community is very clean and pretty. Everyone is super nice. I only have gone to visit for now but i love it. Everything is high tech and you always need a key to get into places. It helps you feel safe.

Nichols College is a fantastic college, it is amazing to be on that campus, you cans see how many people take pride into that Bison Pride, I love seeing a smile on everyones face and that is what you see at Nichols. Sports nature over at Nichols is amazing, they pack the seats floor and outdoors. Food is fantastic and class size is perfect for a student like me who might need extra help.

Nichols College is a close-knit community that will draw you in. The class sizes are small enough to get to know the professors and every person in the class, yet there are so many people on campus you will never hear of until your last week of college. It is unique in that aspect, and everyone becomes a family and looks out for one another. There are fabulous clubs to join that really shape individuals into who they are as people.

My review of Nichols is that it is an amazing school with a very nice home feel. The school is not like a UConn or a Michigan but it is big enough where everyone gets involved in every sport weather you play or watch everyone. The class sizes are excellent also the teachers are very good with providing you with help if you need any.

I love it here! As a commuter, I do not get to fully experience Nichols College. However, what I do experience is an atmosphere where everyone is not just focused on the now, but on their futures. Professors and faculty members genuinely put the students and their careers first.
Alyssa
Nichols College is my home away from home. For a small private college, it has so much to offer! I highly recommend it! There are numerous clubs, group chats, business meeting and even concerts on campus. The professors are always available to help and even know you by name. I'm very proud to be a bison!

Nichols College is an amazing school. I feel comfortable and excited to learn everyday. The class size is great and the professors are extremely helpful. There are many things to do on campus. The campus is small and beautiful. The sunset at night is the best part of my day. Academics is great and academic advisors work with you every step of the way.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
No parent should push their child to attend a college or university that they do not want to attend. Every child should pick the college of their choice, they know best what fits them. I am currently a commuter student after living on campus my freshman and sophmore year. I do think it is importnt to try living on campus in order to gain a sense of independence and repsonsibility. Living on campus did not work out for me because I am not into the party scene, and since the commute from my home to Nichols is only 30 minutes, I was always at home. In college you have to be open-minded. You must be able to accept and try new things, if you don't you are not going to enjoy the experience.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
Neither is true.
Although we are a private school, almost all students receive some sort of financial aid that helps them with their tuition costs. Also, through grants and scholarships, it makes it very affordable to attend the institution.
Also, many do play sports at Nichols, although there is a growing number of students that are choosing to go down a different path, whether it is through the many clubs and organizations we have on campus, or the many different departments that offer work study jobs and regular paid jobs.
Usually on average, a classroom size is about 25-35 students which is great because the professor usually gets to know you by first name. They get to see your strengths and weaknesses and are able to help you when the time comes, if you are having trouble in a certain chapter or section of the class. You’re known by a name here, not a number like some of the other big colleges around the area. Students study when it is needed and act very professional, since we are predominantly a business school. Students are not so competitive when it comes to the classroom, usually because many of the classes that are offered have students team up and work together to get a project or assignment done. The most unique class I have taken was my sophomore year; Physical World. I learned all about the effects of global warming and pollution around the world, and what we can do to stop it. Also learning about glacier melt and sea level rise was interesting to see what the world will look like in about a hundred years.
The education that is provided through Nichols is one that will have you learn a great deal about your major, but in addition, it will also prepare you for the “real world”. Nichols also offers a great and unique 4 year PDS program (Professional Development Seminar). This is a one credit course that is taken one semester each year, for four years. By the time you complete your senior year, you will have an immaculate resume, a portfolio with your greatest pieces of work to show potential employers, great interviewing skills, and a general knowledge of how to negotiate sales. With a 95{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} job placement rating within 6 months of graduation, the school gets you ready for the rest of your life.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
All Clubs have a good rep to them. Sports have the greatest interest. We have a rugby club and hockey club that have gotten some good positive feed back in the last couple of years. Student ambassadors have a good interest, which gives tours to interested high school seniors. The ambassadors have a great working environment for a work study. If you want to make up a club, all you need is a sponsor and about 6 people to start it up.
Students that reside in Shamie (freshman) tend to leave their doors open just because it opens up the room and gives people a chance to stop by. Other halls, people do not keep their doors open because most have a common room and people don’t want to leave the main door to their appt open.
The best thing about Nichols College is that it is a very close community and very friendly. Saying hello to someone you don't know happens daily here on campus. In addition, we have some of the most scenic views, sitting on top of a hill with almost a 360 degree view of mountain landscape.
We are a smaller school (1,100+ enrolled - 2008) but i feel it goes well with the rural theme of campus. It’s hard to say where most of the time is spent, because its usually everywhere. It could be in one of the 11 Residence Halls we have or the Student Center or in Davis. Nichols College demonstrates great pride throughout the campus, during any season. There is a great attendance when it comes to sporting events or cultural’s that we have on campus and people get active around the community.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who likes large cities and not being any farther than 10 minutes from the nearest mass. If you're not here for business, don't come. If you don't want small classes, Nichols is not a good choice.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
97% of students attending Nichols College receive some sort of financial aid.
33% were awarded federal grants.82%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
