The Ohio State University has been one of the most amazing experiences ever. I came to Ohio State with concerns as to how a small-town rural Ohio girl would fit into the humming city of Columbus and the buzz of campus life. From the first week of school here I realized that Ohio State was the right choice for me. My professors expect a lot of me in my classes, but that expectation is fuel for the fire of my curiosity and determination to succeed. I have made lifelong genuine friends, had the opportunity to receive top notch education from professors that are leading the world in invention and innovation, had the chance to travel abroad and overall be a part of something bigger than myself.

There are numerous things that I have attained, even in my first year of attendance. I have met many people, all of whom have their own mindsets and ideas. Each experience with each individual has been one of substantial bearing on my life. The school's diversity has contributed largely to help meet my interests and aspirations. The ability for me to be off and on m own has helped to mold my personality into what it is today. There are so many reasons for why this experience is and will continue to be incredible.

College was a fascinating and valuable experience. In addition to the immense body of knowledge I gleaned from classwork, I learned an unmeasurable amount about so many other things. I observed how other students were able to survive the difficulties of supporting themselves while trying to succeed academically, and how challenging and rewarding it is for us to help each other. I have been able to learn from the perspectives of my classmates and everyone else on campus to flesh out my own world view. I have also observed the benefits of higher education, and how I want academia to be the essence of my future.

The most valuable thing I have gained from Ohio State University is pride. I went to a small high school where no one cared about sports, academic achievement, or had pride in our school. Ohio State has taught me that I am something great no matter how many activities I'm in or what my g.p.a is. I am proud of myself and of Ohio State. The pride I've aquired is being carried with me in every aspect of my life and has given me the confidence to succeed and put myself out there . In my mind everyone should want to attend OSU to have the opportunity to be the best they can be.

I have learned how to make new friends and I have aso learned how to properly balance my social life and my academic life so that my grades are not punished. It has been very valuable for me to attend because education has always been the most valuable thing a person can have in my opinion. I was raised to believe that you can take away everything a person has but thier education. I have met some new and amazing people, and have met with future employers.

I have never been more excited to go to school than I have been at the Ohio State University. Since I am a freshman, people are always asking me if I like attening OSU, and my answer is that I love it and cannot see myself anywhere else. Situated in beautiful Columbus, Ohio State is a bustling town all on its own. However, the size never intimidated me, I am excitied to be among 60,000 students. The big campus promises, with its many undergraduate buildings and graduate schools, many opportunities. I am in the honors college here at Ohio State, and it has been very beneficial. The honors classes are more intimate so my voice can be heard, and the priority scheduling allows me to take classes that actually interest me. So far, I have delved into General Chemistry, Honors Psychology, and Calculus, and I have a 3.9 GPA to show for my effort. My major is Biology with a Pre-Medical focus, so therefore, grades are very important to me. The professors challenge me but offer help if I fall behind. It is hard work being a buckeye, but I would not have it any other way.

Out of my college experience I have gained not only academically but personally as well. As a freshman living in the dorms taught me to be responsible and manage my own time and possesions wisely, while still holding my roommates accountable for the messes they would leave in our shared space. Growing up I lived in a small rural community and at Ohio State not only did I get to connect with other students who had a background similar to mine, I also got to experience new cultures, foods, religions and ways of living. College has encouraged me to expand my thought process and consider a whole new spectrum of ideas in relation to the entire world. I have also discovered a wealth of careers that interest me and different venues I will be able to take my education upon graduation. College has been such a valuable experience because it taught me to grow up, be more independent, and make good choices on my own. It is the first experience I had without a curfew or parents overseeing my actions and truly a time to discover and define myself as an individual.

I can say that I have gain alot of friendships within my college experience. This has been so valuable to me becuase during my high school years it was hard for me to be accpeted and be outgoing. I know since being at OSU has gave me more confidence with in my self to go outside my comfort zone and make friends and be a part of things I once was afraid to do. When I became an OWL which is an Ohio welcome leader and since particpating in this activty among my college really gave me the push I need to build myself as a person so I could be able to make new friends and feel accepted.

Overall, college has been an incredible experience. I have grown tremendously as a person and as a student since first arriving on the Columbus campus of The Ohio State University. The most important thing I have learned in college is how to be a friend. In high school, I was relatively quiet. I had a few close friends, but functioned primarily as a "loner." My first few days in college were turbulent to say the least. I missed my family back home in Philadelphia, and was being forced to live with seven other girls who I didn't know. I quickly had to adapt to this new life and learn to coexist with others, even though they may not be my friends. Once I adapted, everything fell into place. I developed a close-knit group of friends, and feel as if I am truly part of a community rather than outside of one. In conclusion, college has been valuable to attend not only because I've improved academically, but also because it has made me a better person.

From my college experience, I have learned to be a better teacher, a more focused learner, a broader thinker and a better friend to everyone around me. It has been valuable to attend because I have now relationships with my classmates who will one day be my colleagues. I have a solid foundation of great teaching from professors who are in the top of their fields. I have learned how to use my resources to achieve my goals and be successful. I have loved being on campus, in the midst of the school spirit, cheering on the athletic teams and my fellow students. The university provides opportunities to get out into the community and serve others. The world is at your fingertips if you chose to jump in with both feet and take advantage of every available resource, whether that be teacher, student, extra-curricular activity etc.

I have always known what I wanted to do – I wanted to be involved in psychology. Coming to Ohio State has made getting into psychology through internships and classes real. But besides giving me the promise of a degree, Ohio State has done much more. I am an active member of several school clubs and organizations that I probably would have never had a chance to become involved with if not for OSU. It’s been extremely valuable for me to not only get experience in psychology, but to experience what a campus like Ohio State has to offer – everything from American Red Cross to Knitting Club.

I learned how to appreciate getting education that I get. In college I met various people from different parts of the world, having lived different lives. I used to take my education granted and couldn't wait until graduation. However, I soon met people who sincerely appreciated being able to learn in college. It really enlightened me on my view of life. I decided to live my life as an owner and realizing it has made such a big impact on my life. I take an active role in classes and further more relationships with my friends and family. The vast pool of different lives, interests and beliefs in college has opened my eyes towards a deeper understanding of life. College changed my entire attitude. Now I understand the importance of being grateful for what I get. Besides a degree, friendships and good memories, learning how to be thankful grew me a step futher.

I have had access to some of the most interesting opportunities anyone could imagine. I have met people from hundreds of cultures and backgrounds and learned from some of the greatest professors in the university system. I have also met life long friends and developed new hobbies and skills. Coming from a small school (graduating class of 35) I love being part of a group of 50,000 plus students. It is great to not know everyone that you see. At the same time, the university offers individual help and one-on-one learning experiences. I would not trade my experience at Ohio State for anything. O-H-I-O!

I have gotten a great experience out of my college experience. I am currently a Resident Assistant and through that I have had my eyes opend to many different people and have been able to see the good in all of them and help them out. I also helped bring in Invisible Children to Casper College so help creat awarness and I gained organizational, speaking, reaching skills. I am also the Head Programmer on a robotics club here. We have a competition that give us six weeks to buils a robot and compete with it. I have learned in that short time how team work can get hard at times. Our robotics club also hosts other robotics competions that need to have organization that I have helped out with during the event. College has also helped me find out who I really am and has given me a direction on life and helped me make goals and make steps to achieve them. Many goals are already achieved and many more are yet to be achieved but every goal I find new experiences that make me a better person for the community.

I have attended college for only one quarter so far, and I have already changed tremendously. As a college student I have become more responsible and independent. I cook, for myself, I have a better judgement on what I should and shouldn't do, and I understand how important it is to finish school work before anything else. I have been exposed to people from all over the world and have learned a lot about their cultures. Having a college experience is something that is priceless; so many doors can be opened for you when while attending college. I have acquired a job working for the Head Coach at The Ohio State University; this job can open many doors for me when I graduate. My major is marketing, so it is very important for me to connect with athletes and other students that are involved in the media world. Without going to college I would have never had this opportunity. College is a privalege, so it is important to take advantage of all the opportunites that come along with it.

So far out of my college experience i have learned how to live life. I have learned that there is more than what is right outside my own front door. Ive learn to explore and question, to want and yearn for more. I have learned that what i want to do with my life is in my grasp i just have to figure out what i want to do with my life first and that is why college is here. Its a stepping stone to the bigger and better things we will do with our lives.

From my college experience I have gained confidence in who I am and I who I want to become. At Ohio State University differences are appreciated in valued. Coming from a small town , before college, blending in was always the safer bet.
At Ohio State, there is so much involvement you are bound to find multiple things that interest you. I became involved in Ohio State Club Volleyball, Campus Crusade for Christ, Volunteering at The James Cancer Hospital, a mission trip to Venezuela and that was just freshman year alone. Being so active I figured out the core things I was passionate about and the values learned became such an integral part of me.
I have also made such great friends that are so different from me. They help me to broaden my horizons and gain appreciation for different perspectives. Even though we might seem to not have anything in common attending Ohio State gave us a love and appreciation for each other I will always cherish.
My college experience has been so full thus far and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me next at THE Ohio State University.

I have already benefitted so much from my experience at the Ohio State University, and it is only my second year of attendence. I can't rank all of the good things that I have gotten out of my experience in order importance, so I will discuss them chronologically. Moving into the dorm was a huge change from life at home, and Ohio State did a great job in facilitating that transition. I participated in a wide variety of activities and made many friends with whom I remain in close contact with, even though I do not live with all of them anymore. Ohio State has also taught me the value of education. Even though classes aren't my favorite thing about this university, I am very interested in my studies and look forward to learning every day. This universty has also assisted me, not in reinventing myself, but in realizing myself. I wouldn't say that I'm a different person than I was before I came here, but I have definitely changed. Ohio State has helped me to realize and appreciate my potential through all of my insights, abilities, and goals.

College has definitely been a new experience, after being out of school for 30 years. Due to the economy and an on the job injury I was forced to look at a career change. Going back to school was the best option since having a degree would certainly increase my chances entering a new career field. First taking the college prep class opened many doors around the campus and what it had to offer to students. The information it provided was invaluable for use while I'm attending for the next 2 years. Finding out that scholarships are available all year was something I wasn't aware of and will certainly help in my current financial situation. Learning all the services the library has to offer was also informative along with tutoring services which provide help with particular classes you have trouble with and the availability of computers and printers on campus for those who don't have them available at home. I have finished my first semester of college with a 3.5 GPA and am glad to have gone back to school to further my education and am looking forward to graduating in 2012.

I am out for a true college experience. I finished my A.O.S. at a small school in New York and really wanted to live and learn in a big college town. How much bigger can you get than O.S.U. with over 50,000 students? I needed to experience all the quirks, challenges, and tricks to being a student in 2010. I went not only to learn about my future profession and industry, but also to add on memories of being in college at the prime of my life. My experience has been valuable knowing how to ace a Final Exam in one class on two hours of sleep knowing that another Final Exam in another class is coming my way or how to take advantage of all free food and drink specials from restaurants and meetings in order to survive financially . It has been valuable to network with classmates breaking the ice by commenting on the professor's horrendous fashion sense. Most importantly, it provides an environment to interact with my generation connecting on our struggles as students starving for knowledge and money and our future aspirations to change the world based on our college experiences.
