The freshman dorms are crappy, which is the best possible way to do things - I met almost all my best friends freshman year, just wandering the halls from room to room meeting people. After that, social life can be tough, since so many people live off-campus. I highly recommend going greek. I pledged a fraternity, and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made. Greek life isn't huge at Temple, but it is the backbone of the social scene. Most students aren't greek, but the vast majority of the parties and events are thrown by fraternities. The dating scene is what it is. There's a lot of people, so there are options for everyone. I met someone my first week there and ended up being with her for two years, and many of my fellow alumni are marrying people they met at Temple. But sometimes you just need to get the hell off campus, so senior year I dated a Penn girl. I highly recommend that - it's good to spend time at other area schools.

Given that Temple is located in the great city of Philadelphia, there are an endless possibilities of things to do. One of my favorites, is to take a group of my friends on a nice day and walk around Old City or Rittenhouse Square and take pictures. Philadelphia is a gorgeous city with so much fascinating history, there are still things that I haven't been to or seen that I want to. Fraternities are big at Temple but sororities are not. They exist but since they don't have sorority housing, I guess it never really grew. The coolest thing about events at Temple happen at the Liacouras Center. A huge venue right off Broad Street where everyone from Barack Obama to Green Day come to visit. And maybe you won't be a huge Temple Athletic fan, not gonna lie our football team is kind of a joke, but HELLO you're in Philadelphia! Going to Phillies games have been some of my greatest times here. Then theres always tailgating in the parking lot for Eagles games, Flyers in the winter-you can't go wrong!
