I really dont think you can compare the UT experience with other places, it has the tradition, the athletics, the academics, the size, the town and the people to make the best of your college life, but you gotta make it happen, it might be intimidating but if you make it happen, you will have the time of your life. TIME MANAGEMENT IS KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL FRESHMAN YEAR! Trust me, partying with no worries is probably the best feeling ever. BE sure to balance social life and academics. It's important.

The top ten percent rule sucks. I'm a national merit scholar. I got an 800 on the Critical Reading part of the SAT, an 800 on the writing, and a 660 on the math. My high school GPA was around 92/100. A ridiculous amount of extra-credit and community service. And i almost didnt get into UT. (I had to do summer school). Nuff said.
