What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish i knew more about college life, especially since i'm the first one to attend a university in my family. I had no idea what i was suppose to do. I needed more guidence. I also wish i knew how expensive it would be and how difficult it would be for my parents to help me out.

Making new friends is important for getting used to a new place. It is hard to stay happy when you are just focusing on school and not socializing with new people and friends often.

Before I attended the University of Arizona, I wish I had known how exactly to organize my life. I work about 40 hours a week, and am very social. Ive had to learn through obstacles and mistakes how exactly to focus my life in able to ensure my academic success.

I would have also liked to have been told about the true cost of attendance including housing, books, and meals, and perhaps been provided with more opportunities to acquire scholarships in the process.

That they offer a lot more help than advertised. The career center and financial aid counslers were not very easy to find! These people are essential in helping you make the most out of your degree.
