Describe the students at University of California-Riverside.

ucr has a very diverse student body. i think any student would feel at home here. most students wear jeans and a t-shirt to class. it is very casual. the fraternities and sororities basically hang out together, but it is not that big of a deal. money doesn't seem like too much of an issue.

There is something for everyone at UCR, we have it all and if we do not you can create it. I will say that UCR can be very "clicky", due to the diversity.

Rachel

UC Riverside is so eclectic that I doubt anyone wouldn't find themselves a niche somewhere. I remember doing a lot of campus tours, some campuses were obviously frat/sor heavy because all the kids were wearing trendy clothes... some were a bit more hip hop friendly, but UCR pretty much has everything all at once. Well, I admit... we often wear pajamas to classes before 10am, but they're comfy and we didn't feel like getting dressed. Most UCR students are from Southern California,so the parking lots for the apartments and dorms are pretty empty on weekends. A lot of students like to live far enough away from mom and dad that they have to live on or near campus, but close enough to go home and do laundry on weekends.

Everyone was polite and respectful of various backgrounds and personal beliefs. I am prety sure most everyone felt comfortable expressing themselves. In fact, I really learned a lot by witnessing various peaceful demonstrations.

student body is pretty diverse. for anyone looking to join a fraternity/sorority look into the greek system and for anyone looking for coed i would suggest DSP or APhiO

Paul

UC Riverside has one of the most diverse student bodies in the United States.

Honestly I think students of UC Riverside could and need to work harder on interacting more with people of different backgrounds. Though I think there is a good mixture of it, it can still improve. Any student who is not willing to step out of their comfort zone every once in awhile will feel out of place at Riverside because though there are a lot of cool people who are quick to offer assistance, they can't and probably won't do all the work. College is what You make it and if you have a positive attitude, get involve, and put yourself out there you should have a Great experience, even with the Ups and Downs.

Shelby

The student organizations are very involved on campus and they are a lot of fun. A lot of the student body seem to be with some student organization.

Eli

Most students are either politically unaware or are just plain apathetic toward politics. The dress on campus is pretty casual, jeans and a tee and some chucks maybe. Alot of students interact with each other and are of different ethnicities. The majority at UCR-which I have heard is about 40{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}--is Asian so you see a lot of Asians hanging out together. UCR is a melting pot; there are students from all over----India, Pakistan, Dublin, Mexico, Nigeria, etc. This is probably one of the coolest things about UCR.
