Most of them consider themselves to be enlightened free thinkers--meaning that they are extremely liberal and see that as the only way. Most of the time they are nice and friendly, everyone ranges in the dedication to the class. SOme are very into it others just sit in the back and try to wing it. Everyone varies.

Freshman year I lived on the "culturally diverse" floor. I sincerely think it housed every freshman minority student that wasn't an athlete. Racism is a very real and present problem on campus and in Boulder. I will give the administration credit at trying its best to create groups and panels to help solve the problem, but the reality is - the problem exists. Many of my friends from the dorm decided to transfer to other schools because of race-related issues. Boulder is a very liberal and progressive town but you can't forget it is stuck in the center of the mid-west.
