Describe the students at University of Colorado Boulder.

Ryan

Freshman year I lived on the "culturally diverse" floor. I sincerely think it housed every freshman minority student that wasn't an athlete. Racism is a very real and present problem on campus and in Boulder. I do give the administration credit at trying its best to create groups and panels to help solve the problem, but the reality is the problem exists. Many of my friends from the dorm decided to transfer to other schools because of race-related issues. Boulder is a very liberal and progressive town but you can't forget it is stuck in the center of the mid-west.

Andrew

Boulder is not a terribly diverse school. Most of the students are upper middle class, white, and pseudo liberal. There's not much of a political discussion to be had, and most of the racial diversity seems concentrated in our Ethnic Studies department. The professors are equally as white, and while many would claim a left-leaning status, it's not exactly a well-considered label. If you're not a fairly well-to-do student, I would say you definitely feel your economic status pretty sharply.

Leah

Outragously diverse in interestes and what they do and who they are.

Stefanie

They chose CU Boulder for a variety of reasons (e.g. mountains, athletics, academics).

Alec

Jenna

Devin

My classmates are so helpful and friendly that they pushed me and made it possible for me to complete my classes.

Dawn

Im my experience Boulder is very open to all people. There are your certain groups for sure but nothing you didn't see in High school.

Julie

It being Colorado, there are very few African-Americans, Indians, or other ethnicities. However, this does not mean that there is any racism on campus, I have never encountered any hostility that was serious in any way. Though many of CU students come from affluent families, one doesn't feel out of place if they do not come from wealthier families.

Devin

I really haven't been involved in that many school clubs because I work full time while im in school and just wouldn't have the time. Wish I could though.
