It is probably best to stay in the dorm your first year so that you can make friends for may different people. I stayed in an apartment when I started and because this school is so big, it is hard to meet people outside the classroom.

I wish I would have known that politics plays a huge role on wether or not you are accepted into your field of study...the bigger the school the greater the politcis. I learned this the hard way. However, I haven't learned this too late. This semester I plan on getting to know as many people as possible and making the right impression on people who can help me get a foot in the door.

I wish I had known to retain more information, so that I could remember more now. I wish I had not been wary of many things. I wish I had known that each quarter would be different and that the decisions I made there would be important(but not defining) for my future career and life.

Don't be afraid to talk to people in your classes! Be sure to make friends and find things to occupy yourself with on the weekend

I wish I had known that I would meet so many great and diverse people before I came to the University of Georgia; then maybe I would not have been as quiet and shy the first few weeks and I could have made more friends quicker.

I wish i had known about the courses offered at UGA (University of Georgia) that were made to boost freshman GPAs, and about good sources to search for scholarships. When i signed up for my courses i chose courses that were very advaced and very difficult to master. I passed with B's and B pluses , but i wish i had taken the freshman courses so that i could have raised my GPA even higher so i could be eligible to receive as many scholarships as possible to help me pay for school.

I wish that I had known that there is more going on at the University of Georgia than just Greek life. Although the Greek system plays an important role on campus, there are SO MANY more outlets for people's creativity, beliefs, and interests. There are many clubs, organizations, and groups. I needed to know that I would find my niche, even if it wasn't in a sorority.

Before coming to the University of Georgia, I wish I would have been better informed about the majors offered here. I came to the university declaring a Business Major. Once I found out the courses required for this class, I immediately switched majors because the major included subject-matters that I tend to not excell in. Enlightened by this fact, I decided to go into a major that was of more interest to me. If I had known about the majors before coming to the school, my judgment in declaring a major would have been much different.

It would have been nice to have done a little more research on the classes available, but such past mistakes have since been learned from.

I wish I had known more about the local music scene as Athens is very music oriented. Also, I would have liked to know more about the intramural sports
