It is a great and affordable school. I predict in the future years to come, it will be a larger institution with lots of years of experience to serve the upcoming generation of students. The school is constantly growing and always finding ways to create a better environment for students in and outside of the classroom.

Jessica - 09/19/2019

West Oahu is a great school with great staff. While the sports and housing are lacking right now there will be expansion in the future that will solve that soon. I am participating in a dual credit program with them and when we do go on campus all students and staff make us feel welcome, the facilities are great too!

Christian - 09/01/2019

It is a commuter school where students come and leave. The campus is nice but would really love to see more class involvement in terms of meeting our whole class. The cafe food is alright but since they signed a contract with the school, we're not allowed competition. Majority of the friends I made was through intramurals and that's pretty much the place I would hangout the most.

Denique - 07/18/2019

It is a nice campus, I went there for orientation and I felt very welcomed. They have plenty of classes and activities in their curriculum. I might end up going to this college!

Keelie Rae - 06/10/2019

I love it here at UHWO. It takes me about 10 minutes to get to school. The campus is large but not overly huge where it takes a while to get to your other classes. Parking is free, and there is a lot of diversity. I love it here! It is a smaller school which means smaller classes which is nice if you like the smaller community! All in all it is a really great school

The University of Hawaii- West Oahu delicates and delivers the students needs towards programs, activities and services. Although the university is on a small-scale, I am able to see that the Chancellor has a big vision towards the school as a whole. As new buildings are being built, I believe that this will draw more undergraduates to strive better at this university as they will continue to grow their majors/programs. As a college student here at the University of Hawaii- West Oahu I am proud to say I enjoy the beautifully structured library, walking around the campus, talking to my professors and counselor.

Aijalon - 01/07/2019

Personally, I really like the way the campus itself is set up. Overall, the university is a moderate size, it's not so big that anyone can get lost, but it isn't ridiculously small either. The library is one thing that stands out on this campus. There's a large stained glass window that lights up at night. It's a really interesting thing that adds beauty and life to the atmosphere. Due to the connection to the Native Hawaiian culture, the classrooms are organized similarly to the way ancient Hawaiian hale's were. On one side of the building is the classrooms, while the other side is reserved for the professor's offices. They also make sure that the class size isn't too big. Unlike the massive lecture halls at UH Manoa, there isn't more than the standard classroom limit, which is around 25 to 30 students. The faculty is another important thing about this school. They're extremely friendly and always willing to help you out. Campus culture is very active as well. There are a few different sports to play for those interested. The student government there always has some event or activity for the rest of the student body to participate in.

Desirie - 11/08/2018

I love the friendly environment and the vibe that I get from the staff, students, and professors. Although I have just visited the campus, I would consider the University of Hawai'i-West Oahu to be one of my top choices for college. I believe that this college can help me in the long run.

Sydney - 05/25/2018

I think that UHWO is a great school! It is so brand new which makes learning very enjoyable. The library is beautiful and a great space to study. Parking also is great because there is no parking fee and parking never runs out. However, I do wish the UHWO had better/more extracurricular activities and that the extracurricular activities/opportunities were better advertised.

Angelynne - 05/04/2018

It’s an amazing campus that provides so much for their students. I value going to this school so much. The campus is growing. Though it is small now, which means people can interact more often each day. The services that are provided like the cafeteria, the tutoring center, the gym, etc. is really amazing to me. The administration really cares about their students and their life choices when coming to school.

Valery - 04/01/2018

This college campus is amazing. The class size is small and the professors care and are attentive to all students. There is an organic school garden and plenty of opportunities to get involved both on campus and in the community. If I was able to complete my graduate studies on this campus I would have continued my education here. The campus is new, clean, and easy to navigate. I had multiple mentors and amazing advisors who still play a roll in my success in my continued education and in my career. I would recommend this campus to anyone! Four year university with a community college feel. Perfect!

Sianna - 10/23/2017

The University is fairly small, making it rather intimate. However, it is slowly growing due to the new buildings that are being added. There are many opportunities for the students.

Maxine-Anissa - 03/14/2017

I've been attending this University for the past three years. All that I can honestly say is that it's a perfect place for those who are wanting to go to school, to learn and be able to have access to an education that are still trying to search within themselves for what they really want to do in their lives. The professors are always hands on and always seems like they want to be with their students in a way they help them in all they do. The faculty cares a lot for the students well-being. For example, the shuttle system to deliver students to school or back home. The security system and emergency posts within the parking lot that keeps the students automobiles and other transportations safe. The University of Hawaii - West O'ahu has an amazing student council that is constantly trying to involve themselves with the students on campus. There is at least 1-3 activities happening every week or every two weeks. There is always something fun to do on campus. UH West O'ahu is a very homely and homebound campus. Most of the students live closely to the west side and the many of the Hawaiian History classes presented are easy to understand due to the amount of access we have to land around us. It's a school that is very, very student based and such a great place to fully experience the "college life" without having to stress too much on the cost, the competitive anxiety between other students, or being overwhelmed by too many people. It's a small and growing school that is exceeding the feeling of being at home in Hawai'i and brings comfort to those going to school.

Gabriele - 11/17/2016

My first impression of this campus was outstanding. I was very impressed with it's beautiful, green scenic campus and high-tech resources in class. The library is a welcoming and peaceful environment for students to do research and focus on their work. The professors are extremely easy to talk to and really care about our success. Overall, I love this school and glad to be continuing my education here.

Ariana - 11/11/2016

I have enjoyed being a student at University of Hawaii- West Oahu. I am in my second year and almost every faculty I've worked with is willing to go above and beyond to really help you succeed, as long as you're communicating with them. Tons of programs and assistance available for those who need it and look for it.

Considering what I know now about college life and making the transition from high school student to college student things currently would have been different. Coming from a small town I would advise students to attend community college first before attending a university away from their home. This will help with the transition process from being dependent students to independent students. Also, being focused and dedicated as well as being prepared for the college life is a must. 11. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Initially, UHWO caught my attention because tuition is cheaper than UHManoa and parking is free. I always wanted to attend a private school/college but since I do not have a lot of funds to pay for college I am unable to do so. Another reason why I chose to attend UHWO was because they focus in professional studies and that is something that I am interested in. I also enjoy the small class sizes which provide me with the capability for my instructor to know me personally, and provide in depth class discussions.
