I wish I had known how much the school was going to change within the four years I've attended. The school has recently added a new library, student union, medical building, and math/science center. I became extremely attached to the old student union because it was such a great place to meet and hang out with friends. Now I become nostalgic every time I walk by that old building. The new student union is amazing and uncomparable, but it doesn't have the "small town" feel like the old one.

I wish I would have been better planning on a career path for myself.

I made sure to research all the schools that I applied to tso I could make the right decision. When I researched IUPUI, the university I am attending now, I thought it was a perfect choice for me. It had campus apartments so I did not have to live in a dorm, a good science program, and I got directly accepted into the school of science. What I did not know was that there would not be many students on campus all the time since it is a commuter school. I wish I would have know that.

I am from Reno, so I knew a lot about this school before I decided to attend. I wish I had learning how to prioritize school before attending college, as during my freshman year I was more focused on social activities rather than my studies. Reno is a 24 hour town, and it is easy for students to become far too involved with the party/gambling scene. It can be managed, but only if school is your number one priority, as it should be.

Had I been more aware I would have taken advantage of all the opportunities this school has to offer. Anything a student could need assistance with can be found within walking distance on campus.

I wish that I would have known that you need to be organized and you need to have a good work ethic. Within the first couple of weeks I found this out but those first weeks were a strain on my strength and it made me reconcider how i viewed an education. Back in High school I was a student that didn't have to go to class to pass, but now that i am in college it is a whole new animal. Don't get me wrong i love college it is just harder taht i thought.

I did not have the opportunity to speak with an advisor before I signed up for my first semeseter classes. I think that everyone should take the time and meet with an advisor because they do make sure you are taking the right classes and classes that fit to your major. As a transfer student I never lived in the dorms. I lost the opportunity to meet and connect with people through the dorms. So I think it is important to go to orientations and any opportunity to meet new people.

I wish I would have known how costly college can really be. I would have tried to save more to help my parents out.
Carolyn
I wish I had known how affordable it would be. I may have attended sooner!
Brooke
Nothing really. I have really enjoyed college and have learned alot in the past 4 years.

I wish highschool prepared me with better study habits. It would of helped me prioritize my time better, and give me a better hand in my study habits. I struggled at first, but after seeking help with professors and spending more time in my studying I was able to overcome that.

I wish I would have known that it is a totally different atmosphere than it was when I was in high school in Reno. It is a much more mature environment with a positive outlook on life. Meeting new people and becoming involved with the university, gave me the resources to want to succeed.

How to get scholarships.

Nothing, I have learned everything to succeed in Graduate School. I try and learn by every experience life has thrown at me.

I wish I knew that my previous GPA from almost 10 years ago would count as my cumulative. Although I maintained a 3.9 GPA for the last 2 years my cumulative is only 2.7.
However I do not regret this, for I also did not have to repeat a lot of core curriculum courses.

That the advisors are COMPLETELY worth your time! They are valuable resources...take advantage of them!
Heather
That it didn't have enough sections of classes to sign up for. There isn't enough sections open for some classes. I also wish that I knew that semesters are worse than quarters. I like quarters better then semesters because you get more classes to take and you don't get bored in classes that you have to take for semesters.

About our Liberal Arts College, it has a excellent programs that I don't think most people are aware of.

I wish I had known how to get involved and the importance of getting involved right away. My first year I focused on my schoolwork, while making time for my job, family and friends. But, I wish I would have made time then to join a club. I'm glad I am getting involved in school now, though. There's over 150 different clubs at my school.
