What are the most popular student activities/groups?

Racheal

Some of the most popular groups are the sports teams and those who play intramural sports. I met my closest friends through joining a sorority and from study partners from class.

I dont really know about most popular groups, maybe the football team and the well known frats on campus. I'm involved with the greek life here as a member of alpha phi sorority and its been a good experience for me. I think athletic events should more attended by the students. I'm no good with dating. I met my closet friends by joining the sorority this year. I'd say most people party 3 nights a week. If I'm awake at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday most likely its because I have school work. To me fraternities and sororities are important because its large part of everything I do here on campus. It keeps me busy. Last weekend I celebrated my BFF's bday on Thursday, had sober sister bowling on Friday with the girls in the house, and Saturday made my way to a couple different parties. On a Saturday night that doesnt involve drinking? I dont know sleep maybe.

Greek Life is very popular on campus. Although only a small percentage is Greek, I feel like for the most part we are respected, and many people come to our events. Sports are also of course a huge thing. Even if a person can't make a team, intermurals are huge. I met most of my friends from either my sorority or my first semester dorm. Doors being open helped. I also met other friends during Rush and Classes! I think Fraternities and Sororities have a name to upkeep, and set a good example, because Greek life is definitely watched more closely than some other organizations. I go home a lot on the weekends, but I also try not to drink during the week. I still go to Frat parties and drinking events and not drink. It's good because I can take care of my friends/sisters.

I think greek life is very important on campus. I am not just saying this because I am a sorority member but I think that greek live is very popular on campus and we bring a lot to the table. We are always holding philanthropy events and participating in events in the community. We are always raising money for charities and helping others out. Other events that are popular are athletic. Whenever there is a football game or hockey game, good luck driving around on campus. There is tons of traffic and students everywhere. There is so much excitement and everyone supporting our amazing sports teams. There are other things that you can do on a Saturday night that doesn't involve drinking; the MUB often holds sober events that students can go to. Last weekend we had a sober sister even and all of my sorority went bowling then came back to the house and shared stories. UNH isn't all about going out and partying. There are also many things to do off campus like go shopping at the Fox Run Mall, out to dinner, or head over to Portsmouth.

Hockey is probably the most popular sport. Im on Alpha Phi, which is probably the most popular sosority. Some people leave their doors open. Guest speakers I dont think are to popular, if theater is popular its only because teachers make you go, and it dpeends what sport it is. at 2am on a tuesday- watching tv, Evets - homecoming, greek week. I think frats and sororities are important. Last weekend I went home. You could go to a game, or stay in, or do something that a resident hall sponsors.

The open doors in dorms really depend on what floor yo uare on and who you live around, but for the most part doors are always open and everyone is always friendly. I am involved in a sorority and I am a pre med major and am involved in the leadership fraternity as well along with working every week and I still among all that find time to go out on the weekends, and my sorority is a huge part of my life. There are also lots of things that the dorms and the campus as a whole plans that doesn't invovled drinking every weekend and most of the week nights, so there is something to do for everyone.

I'm in Chi Omega but greek like only makes up about 8{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the campus. It doesn't control the school but it helps you get involved and gives great leadership oppourtunities. Partying on campus is like a job. People generally go out Tuesday through Saturday night especially if you are 21. Tuesday is bar night, Thursdays are huge on campus, Friday is usually slower, and then Saturday is huge again. If you don't want to be apart of the drinking scene the MUB which is the building in the center of campus has plenty of activities scheduled every weekend from casino nights, movies, bands, and speakers. I met my close friends outside of Chi Omega my freshman year all of which lived in my hall and then I met all the girls who are in my house. Off campus you have Portsmouth which is really pretty town that has a great downtown, restaurants, shopping and then you have your basic mall the next town over. When it gets warmer everyone goes to the beaches.

Ashley

People go to the bars once they turn 21. Campus use to be more of a party school. People definately don't go out as much.
