University of South Florida-Main Campus Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Patrick

This school is extremely ethnically diverse. Sometimes, it is like walking through a different country

Jason

I wish I would have known everything about the area surrounding my university.

Tara

The difficulty of finding parking... I probable would have tried to live closer to campus.

Natalie

I wish I would have known all of the right people to call on campus if I needed anything. For example, in the College of Education, some of the people who hold high positions are very helpful if you can get in contact with them. Also, which classes to take... after I began college I learned about ratemyprofessors.com but that was after my first semester which I think I would have done a little bit better had I known which professors / classes to take.

Bryttani

I wish I had known how difficult it would be to get out of the school. Also how difficult it would be to meet new people as a transfer student.

Sarah

I wish I had been more prepared to cover the costs that college entails. I had bright futures for my tuition, but then there are books, housing, food, gas, entertainment...etc. It has been very difficult for me to pay for everything I need for school. But, this school is one of the more less expensive schools around, and I am happy with the quality of education I have been recieving, so it is worth it, but still pretty difficult.

Nick

I actually think I came to USF prepared for whatever was thrown at me. I basically took anything with open arms and went with the flow of things.

Mary

How bad the parking can be.

Kate

Coming to the university, I had no idea what kind of experiences I would have, which clubs I would join, and the friends I would make. It almost seems like I stumbled upon each with opportunity and friendship I came across. I don't wish to have known anything, because, if I'd known what to expect, the precious memories I will always hold dearly would not be nearly as significant. Since enrolling at USF, I have become stronger, more independent, and a new person . My journey is still not over, but I wouldn't change a single step.

Laura

That the meal plans and the on campus housing are expensive and a rip off. That finding parking is extremely difficult. That it is better to live off campus.
