As far as I have seen, there isn't any discrimination at all of any kind. Whether its race, beliefs, money, or whatever. Of course there are groups of people that may have opinions about some things, I havn't heard of anyone being put down because of any of those things. I'd say everything is pretty much average with everything. It is a big campus, and a big mix of different people from all kinds of backgrounds.

Students here are awesome because you can meet a wide variety of people and become friends with people you would never expect to become friends with. There are lots of groups to get involved with and everyone is very friendly because we are all here for the same thing.

WSU is a wonderfully mesh of very diverse people. It still confuses and surprises me slightly when the Pacific Islanders club is selling tickets to their Luau and I know snow is just around the corner. I love seeing all the clubs and groups working together with the community making Pullman a place we all want to be.

I have friends that are of various races, religions, and socio-economic statuses standing but I do not take part in any such group on campus. I don't know what type of students would feel out of place in WSU--I have not directly experienced any negativity or exclusion toward different types of groups. Most students wear jeans, a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and the infamous north face leece to school. I think different types of students interact with others. I assume most Washington state students are from Washington...with a fair number from Hawaii as well. I'm not sure what the most prevalent financial backrounds are - doesn't come up in conversation that much. Some students are politically aware and some are not. I'm not sure what the ratio of left to right to center is here at WSU. Yes, students do talk about how much they will earn some day.

The students body is full of pride because when you are here for a while and realize you have nothing to do to entertain yourself besides develop relationships around you, you start to get really close to your friends. Students are pretty cool but pretty lazy. There are a few that get involved and politically active. The school is pretty even between conservatives and liberals.

WSU students are very diverse there are a number of ethnic religious sexual orientation based clubs and groups. Everyone is treated with respect but students that were really metro, emo or hippy clothing would most likely feel out of place, although some do and seem to feel quite relaxed. Most of the men have the expensive snowboarder / surfer look going on. The women dress to kill although there look is not real creative it is obviously very expensive and looks really good. There is some separation of groups; people that are in the their groups don’t go out of their way to interact with new comers.

Being in RHA I work a lot with the different groups on campus from the pacific islanders club right down to the GLBTA. It is really hard to form stereotypical groups when looking at the students around campus because everybody is so diverse but that doesn't stop them from getting along and being friends. Even in the dining halls its hard to determine the groups that are sitting together because there is always one or two people that don't allow the group to be stereotyped.

Most students at WSU are white. Dress at WSU is normally very casual, with the occasional professional dress for people doing mock job interviews or musical performances. Mingling among what ethnicities are at WSU is common. Students who aren't pledges in residence life tend not to talk with people in Greek life. WSU is politically split, with actively competing student organizations working on both sides.

From what I've experienced all races or groups interact very well. I came here not knowing ANYBODY. Now that I have friends they're from all different racial backgrounds, and we all have a good time.

With almost 20,000 undergrads at WSU, there are all sorts of clubs and student bodies on campus. The largest student body is the greek system with I think 16 fraternities and 9 sororities. They are pretty much everywhere you look on campus, always involved in something. Those students tend to be the funnest and loudest who are always at the football/basketball games. These students in teh Greek system are known for being rich snobs sort of wit no backbone or mind of their own. That is what many people see them as because if you are not greek then you arent invited to many parties and you dont meet many people. So its a tough decision to make when you come here. Before, when I was in the greek system and I would tell girls that I was in a fraternity, you have no idea how many times I would hear, "Oh...you are a 'frat' guy?" Usually, college students are more liberal, however, there is a very large conservative student body here. So if you tend to be more liberal, dont fret, there is still a large liberal body as well.
