Sports are huge at Washington State, especially football and basketball.
There is always a party going on at Washington State, thus, the stereotype listed above.
The dating scene is basically non-existent. People don't just ask people on dates, they meet at parties or other social events and "hang out."
The greek system is large at Washington State.
Last weekend I participated in our philanthropy "Cougs at Bat."

There is always something to do or someone to talk to. Although people say there is nothing to do in Pullman, they couldn't be more wrong. I have met so many people through the greek system, in my classes, and have become best friends with the girls on my floor.

I met my closest friends when I joined a sorority. I came to WSU not knowing anyone. I lived in the residence halls for a few weeks. It was absolutely miserable. No one is the building was friendly.

many people play sports for WSU and many others play intramurls, are in clubs. Our greek community is great to be apart of, you gain so much from it, i could never have imagined the kind of leadership i have, and they amazing women you meet that really will be your bridesmaids and your "sisters" for life. If you do not like to party there are many different options held, there are movies (on campus for free! and good ones too) you can go to the rec, get ice cream, bowling, there are up all nights, a drug, alchol free inviroment to play games and win prizes, its really fun to do!

I'm a part of the greek community, and I think it's a pretty vital part of WSU. We get a bad rep because our actions are under a microscope and we're held to a higher standard than the rest of the student body. If our grades and philanthropic events were scrutinized the same way, people would definitely have a different opinion of us. You can always find a party on greek row- but you can also find them in the apartments. Keep in mind that the majority of the bars are on greek row, so chances are, that's where everyone is on the weekends. Greeks make up a big part of the social scene on campus. In Pullman, weekends start on Thursdays. The majority of people meet their closest friends in the dorms and in their fraternities and sororities. Living in a sorority gives me a bigger network of friends than many. Bottom line, no matter where you live in Pullman, and no matter what day of the week it is, you will always be able to find someone to drink with. On the flipside, some people choose not to drink and I know that they always find stuff to do as well; such as bowling, the casino, and going to movies.

The greek community is a big part of student life and is where most of the partying and socializing takes place. However, these organizations also donate a lot of money to philanthropic organizations and get involved in various activities and events on campus. The dating scene is almost non-existant because so many people are just looking to drink and have a good time and not be tied down by a relationship. This is mostly true of the greek system and I do not really know outside of that community. Most of the social life is partying because there isn't much else to do in Pullman. Other options might include going to the movies, bowling, or the casino.

Always someone to get involved. The best are sporting events (football, basketball, and baseball) lining up 12 hours early to get front row seats and singing the fight song even if its snowing or if we're losing, etc.
Cheap movies at the Audian, studying at the Daily Grind, community service opportunities, concerts, Munchies, etc.

Being in a sorority or fraternity is really popular at WSU. But there are other things to do besides that. A lot of people like to be involved in intermural sports. There are also clubs for every major on campus and racial based clubs like BSU. At WSU theres something for everyone. Athletic events are so big at WSU. Football and Basketball season are important. If you are a student without a sports pass, good luck on getting tickets. Cougs are die-hard-coug fans!

Social life is fun and that's one of the best things about WSU.
