Wayne State is honestly a really good school. The professors are typically passionate to some extent about what they teach. they're very receptive to concerns or struggles you may be having. The facilities are well kept up on, most of the buildings are newly updated. There's no shortage of clubs or activities to get involved in and crazy good food options on and near campus. Parking will always be the biggest issue in my opinion, especially with Wayne State being a commuter heavy school, it's a game to get within a black of your building lol but not terrible, just a little time consuming if you're a latecomer.

Wayne State University (WSU) in Detroit is known for its strong emphasis on research, diversity, and community engagement, making it a well-regarded institution, especially within Michigan. It has an excellent reputation in fields like medicine, engineering, law, and business, partly due to its close partnerships with local industries and Detroit’s major medical and research institutions. WSU's location also plays a big role in its identity; the urban setting offers students unique opportunities to gain practical, real-world experience, particularly if they’re interested in fields like urban planning, social work, or public health. Another standout aspect is the university's commitment to accessibility and support for first-generation and non-traditional students. WSU emphasizes making education attainable for students from various backgrounds and offers support programs and financial aid initiatives tailored to students’ diverse needs. WSU might not be the first choice for those seeking a traditional, residential college experience with a strong campus social life, but it’s an excellent fit for students who thrive in an urban setting and are looking for a university with a mission of social impact and engagement.

It is an amazing college, I hope that I am accepted. Everything about Wayne State, I absolutely love. I’ll be a future warrior this upcoming semester. My experience from visits all the way up to what I hear about it from current students who attend brings me to say great things about the university and campus itself.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Every day that you walk through life as if you can hit rewind at any moment, realize that the rewind button you are counting on to be there is being phased out as we speak. That's right, everything you're doing is going on film, and that film is going to be your life. Make each day worthy of being recorded and watched by you one last time with no editing. Whatever happened in the past all happened for a reason. The important thing is to make those experiences, positive or negative, a strictly positive influence on what you do now. And, even more important, don't just know what you need to be doing, do it! Start acting on what you have learned from your life. I was once a high school student with a GPA below 1.5 or something tragically close. That ended with my getting a GED after a few years of not attending school whatsoever. And it had nothing to do with my learning abilities. But once I realized what I wanted to do with my life, I was able to start college with a whole new attitude and believe me, it?s working!

  19. Where is the best place to get work done on campus?

There are many places to get your work done here at WSU. There is the Undergraduate Library, known as the UGL, that is open 24/7. There are multiple floors of which to study on. There is also your dorm building if you are staying on campus. Each floor has 3 lounges in which you can study. You can also, if you wish, study in your room. We have a Starbucks, which is also part of Einstein Bagels, where many people go to grab a cup of Joe and study. The quietest place of them all is the Purdy-Kresky Library. It is so because nobody really goes in it. It is a very empty place, but yet the best place to go for a quiet area. I tend to study in the lounges of my dorm floor.
