I like the community college experience. Its in a nice area and is very modern and accepting.

I have attended other colleges in the past and West Los Angeles College has a sense of COMMUNITY. What I mean is, when you step on campus you get this sense that everyone there is open to seeing you for who you are and they won't put you down for who you are not. I have had wonderful experiences between my fellow classmates as well as my professors. I have always been able to ask questions and never feel like what I was asking was a dumb questions. The environment is overall encouraging. I highly recommend this campus as it has been a life changing place for my studies.

West LA College is a high quality operation. The physical aspects of the campus are outstanding in architecture and quality. The student services are exceptional. They leave no one hanging for answers and provide many different types of support from financial aid assistance to scholastic opportunities and learning in addition to classes. I am pleased with this education beyond what I expected from a community college.

West Los Angeles college is a pretty good college to attend if you are unsure of attending a four year university first. It is very affordable and the class sizes are less than 50 students per class. You have access to professors that care about you.

I love all the online programs that are available. My first semester, I'm only taking one class at the school, and the rest are online and I can do at my own schedule. It makes my college schedule very open and flexible, which is necessary due to work.

So many opportunities to chose from. Throughout my time being here, I have been able to experience the opportunities this school has to give. For 2 years now, I have been on the Women's Basketball team. Last year, we won the championship. Amazing school and amazing athletics, especially for student athletes. I also was on the schools Gold Team, which was a honor roll for student athletes with a 3.0 or higher. This school opens so manydoors for their students. They allow their students to be the best they can be, and reward them for their success. Great school, and I couldn't be happier with my choice.

I love it so far. I have been very fortunate to have amazing teachers, thus far. My only complaint; and I don't know if it's the school's fault or not; Is that, my financial aid is always somehow delayed. :/ I have never gotten it on time and it's always an issue because I can't afford my required text books.

Great campus. The campus is always improving and great professors. The college needs better math teachers but the teachers are tolerable. Cafeteria food is deplorable. This campus is always improving. I have seen this campus growth and I am happy to see the funds they do receive goes to work.

Great facility to attend. Professors and staff are helpful and encourage students to engage with them. Campus is safe at all times, tutoring and lab is available. Hands on learning and updated classrooms and equipment. Apart of a great college district. On campus and online classes available for working students or parents.

My over all opinion about West Los Angeles College is that there can be some slow movement in the business office but it’s okay. The classes are great and the food needs a little work. They should have more sports in general and I believe that there should be more walk-in for ed plans.

Poor; too much discrimination ruining GPAS and other related educational opportunities. Leadership is anti-student and corrupt. They even hate VETERANS students! Aside from the tough obstacles leadership place in front of students, you can find some good professors here to help students maximize their educational advancement; but they are the minority. Thank you!

I love the fact that there aren't many students but as far as resources I would say that WLAC isn't really "for the students."

My school has been a safe space and helped me find a path for education that prior I wasn't sure I even had. There were opportunities and I was able to afford my classes while working minimum thanks to the support network I had. I'm nervous for the future, but for now I'm glad WLAC has been able to support me through the decisions I've made.

We are a secluded police oriented program called Police Orientation Preparation Program or POPP. We are located inside a police academy and are in school full time. We are more well knit socially and have the same group of students for both years. We are only at West Los Angeles College campus about 4 times a year for certain testing.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for West Los Angeles College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and talk to myself I tell myself to start searching for scholarships as a freshman because paying for school is hard. I would tell myself to take track and field seriously, so I could get a scholarship because I'm actually good at running. I would say hold off on working and run, not to trade in doing a sport and being in clubs for a job. If I coud go back I would tell myself to live, not to be so shy. To get good grades so I could qualify for all the scholarships out there and not have to pass up the ones that say 3.0 gpa only. I would tell myself the transition isn't hard at all rather smooth actually, and not to worry. I would tell myself to prepare now for college and transferring so when the time comes it'll be a breeze.
The best thing at West Los Angeles College is that it's a community in itself. I don't believe that there's one student on campus who feels uncomfortable in their enviroment. There's so much diversity that there's this openess amongst the students; it's very alive and and dominant in a sense and it makes me feel as though I'm at home and surrounded by people who are eager to learn and ready to better themselves and their future through the means of getting an education.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The type of person who should not attend West Los Angeles College is a person who is not ready to learn. In order to be in college whether attending a university or even a juinor college like West, one needs to have their mind set and ready to learn at all times. It doesn't matter if a person is merely trying to earn a few class credits or spend two years at West and graduate, college is all about learning and if one keep that perspective in mind than they can succeed in all aspects of their life.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst this is the food/eating area. There really isn't one, there is the food truck that comes and the student store. It would be good is there was a cafe' or something.
The kind of person that should attend this school, should be someone that is not looking to go to a four year college right away. A person that is undecided about what kind of career they want to persue. I attended this college knowing what i wanted to major in but my only obstalce was that i could not be a full-time student only. I also have to work full time and take care of my son. West LA was the best decision for me to go a steady pace that gives me time to manage my life .
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
West Los Angeles has acquired a new state of the art mathmatics building. As students it is our goal to succeed but we need confidence, and higher math is the first step. It challenges the reasoning power to think mathematically about issues thrown about in print media full of incomplete date, ambiguous graphs and hasty generalizations. My school has set a priority to prepare us confidently in a solid foundation of math.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be the cost of books. The pricing is ridculous when it comes to buying different books every semester. My only problem is when the school buys your books back, they only give you less than half of what you paid, and thats only if they buy the books back. It hurts even more when you dont recieve financial aid to pay for your books.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
63% of students attending West Los Angeles College receive some sort of financial aid.
43% were awarded federal grants.1%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
