Westfield State University is a well-regarded public institution in Massachusetts, known for its strong commitment to affordability, diversity, and academic excellence. It offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields such as business, education, criminal justice, and the liberal arts. The university emphasizes a student-centered approach, providing small class sizes and personalized attention from faculty members. One of Westfield State’s strengths is its welcoming campus community, which fosters inclusivity and student engagement. The university offers numerous clubs, athletics, and extracurricular activities that enhance student life. Additionally, its location in western Massachusetts provides a balance between a suburban setting and access to larger cities for internships and career opportunities. Academically, Westfield State is particularly known for its education and criminal justice programs, producing graduates who are well-prepared for their careers. The university also prioritizes hands-on learning experiences, such as internships and service-learning opportunities, to ensure students gain real-world skills. Overall, Westfield State University is a great choice for students seeking a high-quality education at an affordable price, with a supportive and dynamic campus environment.

For people like me, who might feel lost or directionless at a larger school, Westfield is a great choice. With small class sizes, invested professors, and abundant resources for career and educational support, you will get back what you put into your education. I felt that my professors actually knew me personally and supported my success. The campus is small, but growing, and the new developments are very nice. My senior year I even had a single dorm - every college student's dream. The only caveat? The food is borderline inedible, so bring an air fryer.

Westfield State is great school. I highly recommend coming here. The professors are great and it has a very unique learning environment. You will definitely learn a lot here, and overall have a great time. What makes this a school great, is the close attention you receive from the professors. Classrooms aren’t that big so you get a lot of one on one attention.

I highly recommend WSU! I had a great experience attending this University and will forever cherish my memories throughout those 4 years. Nursing is a highly competitive major and this University offers small class sizes with plenty of one on one interaction with professors and clinical faculty. Clinical experiences were provided to all students and were a huge part of the nursing program. The capstone course took into consideration the students top choices. Persoanlly, I was able to move back home and attend my capstone preceptorship at local hospital that aided in my career. I now have had an RN position for over two years at the very same hospital.

Westfield State University could be compared to Hogwarts in a way. Most residential halls have a stereotyped group of specific people living there. Courtney is where the kids who like to party are, Lammers Hall is where the quiet kids are, the students in Scanlon are the cool ones who are usually teachers favorite, Davis is where the students stay low key but are actually pretty cool, University is where the students are smart and think they are better than everyone else, New Hall is for the richer upperclassman, and then there is Dickinson, Olds, Welch, and Seymour where the outsiders live. Despite this, the students all come together for events and different clubs that Westfield has on and off of campus. Westfield State is a smaller school so there is more of a sense of community; the school makes sure there is somewhere for everyone to belong. I love the school and I am so happy I chose to come to Hogwarts 2.0.

John

I love Westfield State University and highly recommend it! It is the perfect size school not too small but also not too big. The food is very good with lots of choices. The professors are very nice. They are accessible and approachable. The facilities such as the campus center and the Athletic center are phenomenal and just as good if not better than some private schools. The faculty and staff are phenomenal. There are so many resources available including free tutoring to help everyone succeed.

chelsea

I think WSU is the perfect fit for me. It is not a big school, it is perfect for someone who went to a small school and is used to one on one teaching. The food at WSU is not the best but it makes up for that with the education and the housing!

Kali

It's a safe accessible school. When I needed help for Calculus or anything else tutors were readily available. Teachers provided extra help and study sessions for those who asked for it. There's plenty of resources such as computer labs, extensive library, career development, etc. I am proud to go to Westfield State University. As a Biology major with a concentration in Biotechnology which will give me a minor in Chemistry the new Science building is exquisite and beautiful. I love the new labs they are incredible! The school is excepting and quick to eliminate any kind of discrimination. I am proud to be a Westfield State University student. My only dislike is the parking situation. As a commuter parking can be quite a nuisance. You have to pay for parking and then don't even have a choice where you park! Other than that Westfield State University is a beautiful and amazing school filled with talented faculty!

Madison

Westfield State University is a very welcoming college. The faculty and professors are always willing to help and make sure you’re getting the things you need to get. The class sizes are small which allows the students to be able to engage with the professor and really learn the course material. The campus itself is beautiful, things are easy to get to. If something is far away there a shuttle buses to take the students to ever they need to go. There aren’t a lot of parties or go on on campus however there are a lot of things on campus that will allow students to really engage and connect with one another.

Amber

I loved every minute of my time there. The campus is a pretty friendly place and I really believe that all of my professors were genuinely invested in my success. I still speak with many of them. Classes were interesting and challenging but not hopelessly unmanageable. I graduated summa cum laude.

Alexandria

Westfield State isn't really one of the best out of all the State schools in Massachusetts, it has its good parts as well as bad parts but I honestly think that other schools in the state are much better. Salem State University which I where I am transferring to, has a beautiful campus and is right in the city so it is close to everything you need where as Westfield State is extremely remote from downtown. Westfield State may have some nice facilities but the campus life is dull, there is nothing close by as far as shops or stores go, and the campus life is really boring. There also is not that much diversity at Westfield State either. It seems that the rest of the state schools have more diversity compared to WSU. Overall, Westfield State is okay but it is really up to the individual if they like it enough to want to go there.

Grace

i love it here feels like home and its a very easy campus to navigate

Shauna

I have enjoyed my time at Westfield State. It is on the smaller side, which had its benefits and downsides. The campus is small which means everything is close by but also that there isn't much variety on campus. The smaller size does allow you to stand out of the crowd more easily and make a larger impact. the faculty and staff are enthusiastic and everyone I have met is nice. Overall I am happy I chose to come to this university.

Aleah

Westfield state is a amazing school that gets kids involved in music and sports and drama. A place for people to speak their mind. Westfeld is very welcoming and feels like home. Professors are very helpful and easy to reach and the classes are challenging but I learned alot first semester. On campus activities are great when getting involved and meeting new people it is a very safe and friendly place to be.

James

Beautiful campus, filled with brilliant students and amazing faculty. The sense of community is HUGE on-campus and we are provided so many resources that, in turn, help us succeed. Typical student-to-instructor ratio is 17:1, meaning that there exists a strong connection between student and instructors.
