CAN INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS GET SCHOLARSHIPS?

Many non-U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals may be eligible to receive scholarships for international students. For instance, if you hold a green card, yes you can fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may also be an eligible non-citizen if you:

  1. American University
  2. Emory University
  3. Cornell University
  4. Brandeis University
  5. University of California – Berkeley
  • Check with your country’s embassy or with a consulate here in the U.S.
  • Look for a government office in your country that may offer aid
  • Ask the college or career school you plan to attend whether they offer scholarships for international students
  • Have an Arrival-Departure Record (I-94)
  • Hold a T-nonimmigrant status
  • Are a “battered immigrant qualified alien”
  • Are a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau

Rotary Peace Fellowships

Each year, Rotary International provides scholarship awards up to 100 fully funded fellowships for dedicated leaders from around the world to study at one of their peace centers. Certificate applicants need at least three years of related full-time work or volunteer experience, five years of related full-time work or volunteer experience.

India’s first education financing marketplace, GyanDhan aims to equalize and expand access to education. Providing end-to-end education loan assistance, GyanDhan is a digital-first company that seeks to revolutionize education financing in India. Started with an aim to make abroad higher education more accessible to students, GyanDhan has helped tens of thousands of students in selecting the right financing option. Boren Fellowship

The Boren Awards for International Study were established by the National Security Education Act of 1991 in honor of Senator David L. Boren of Oklahoma to increase the number of students in languages, fields of study and world regions critical to U.S. security. Boren Fellowships provide unique funding opportunities for U.S. graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to U.S. interests, and underrepresented in study abroad, including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East. The countries of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded. The fellowships encourage graduate students to pursue specialization in area and language study or to add an important international dimension to their education. GCSP Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security

Under the leadership of Ambassador Thomas Greminger, Director of the GCSP, the Prize for Transformative Futures in Peace and Security was initiated by Professor Nayef Al-Rodhan, Head of the Geopolitics and Global Futures Programme, and Ms Anne-Caroline Pissis Martel, Head of the Global Fellowship Initiative and Creative Spark. It seeks to reward groundbreaking concepts that offer exceptional promise in addressing peace and security challenges. The inaugural edition of the prize will be awarded in 2023. Applications may come from any country, but the potential impact of the concepts submitted should extend beyond national borders in their scope or thinking. Concepts from a wide variety of fields may be eligible for consideration, including, but not restricted to, transformative technologies, pandemics, biothreats, autonomous weapons, climate change, human rights, cybersecurity, education, or disarmament, for example. The winners (first, second and third place) will be announced publicly during an event to be held in late May 2023. The prize for the application coming in the first position is a fully funded 2-month incubation programme within the GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva (worth CHF 15’000) and a certificate of excellence. The two other finalist applications will receive a certificate of recognition.

Fighting Bullying with Technology

For over 20 years, we have been working with companies, big and small, for their design, development, and support needs with ecommerce, websites, mobile apps, and custom software. Write an essay (minimum of 1,500 and maximum of 3,000 words) that details your personal experience with bullying and how you have overcome it, or the initiatives that you have done to help stop and campaign against it in your school or community.
