What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Look at more schools and learn more about my career choice more. Also don't worry about having friends go to school the same place you do. You will make new friends that will become your best friends. Don't take college to seriously becasue then you won't take the time to hang out and try new things.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
There is a real sense of school pride and community among the students. Everyone is very into hockey and it translates into a very large alumni group that seems active on and off campus. The location is unique being so far north. It is very cold at the University of North Dakota but it brings people together in a way that I do not think would happen at other universities. I am very happy with my education and the friends I made at the University of North Dakota.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The location is the worst thing about the University of North Dakota. There is little to do in way of cultural events, such as art museums, concerts, or historical sites. Also, because of where it is located, the University of North Dakota suffers freezing temperatures. It was -35 degrees yesterday without windchill. The climate is definately not for the faint of heart.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known more about some of the added on fees that came with being an Air Traffic Control major. I didn't realize that the labs that the University has and uses for ATC training cost so much, but then again I feel that it is worth every penny due to the fact that the education I am getting here is, in my mind, the best education.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating part of school is not the school part, is the college part! You are basically thrown to the wolves when it comes to financial aid, registration, payments, deadlines, figuring out what class needs what pre- requisites and how to get into the classes you need! After the first few semesters you figure it out and then are able to laugh at yourself. I had to do a lot of rabbit trailing to get to who I needed to talk to about certain things and emailing back and forth is frustrating also.
