I love that VWU is a smaller school with smaller classes . I am new to the college but I am coming on as a baseball player . . I am excited to get started . I won’t be staying on campus the first year but when I visited the campus it looked as if everyone was one big family . Everyone I have talked to about the college loves it .I am sure I will too .

My honest opinion of Virginia Wesleyan is that it is a good school that has potential, but the care of the students whether it be food or housing need to be a necessity. Sometimes athletes can not eat because the cafe and grill are closed because of their practice times. The cafe food is inedible sometimes and that is not acceptable. Some of the freshman dorm bathrooms have mold under the sink or the sink does not work. The school's ability to find internships for their students is a major plus. Professors are very personable and are almost always available to answer any of your questions. Everyone is very friendly and looks out for one another. It is a good school.

Virginia Wesleyan is definitely my top choice, and I'd even go as far as to call it my dream school. For me, it's the perfect size. I love that the classes are small, and I feel that we have a very close community because of it. We have a diverse student body, which is also one of the reasons I came here. I also love the liberal arts aspect, and we are very strong academically.

I like the size of the school and it's built for learning. A lot of the buildings are environmentally friendly and we never really have to worry about bad things happening because there's 24 hour security. Our soccer and softball games are super fun to go to, and there's always something to do, not only that, the stores around campus are walking distance of the school. Our staff are super friendly and are always willing to help.

My school overall has been a blast to attend. It’s a small school and the small school makes it easier to learn, connect, and immerse yourself in the college atmosphere. The institution made such a huge impact on my life that I’m pursuing my MBA here.

Overall, Virginia Wesleyan University is a nice, small, supportive campus. My largest class is my Wesleyan 100 class, it is a lecture and all first year students must take one. My WES 100 is on the cultural phenomenon that is the film franchise, Star Wars. The food here at VWU is good but nothing can ever live up to a home cooked meal for me. I am biased towards housing as my dorm's roof failed and we had to be moved into a hotel three weeks into the school year. It did take two months for them to fix the roof but I would definitely avoid being placed in Smithdeal Hall. Other than the housing fiasco, I would recommend Virginia Wesleyan University to anyone looking for a small, no pressure school.

I cannot wait to start in the fall of 2020! I may take classes in summer just to start sooner! I love everything about Virginia Wesleyan University. It is as if the college was designed exactly for me. The moment I set foot on campus, I knew this is where I belong. The small classes, pristine park-like setting, and amazing music department are all perfect for my studies.

It does not allow you to make decisions about your own education. If you question anything, people get upset at you. It is purely for making money with no concern to the students or their well being. The facilities are never cleaned, the food is only edible when the are offering a parents open house. Every person I know has decided to transfer, and the school is not making it easy for us.

Virginia Wesleyan is overall a 4 star institution. I am currently a sophomore attending Virginia Wesleyan University, planning on majoring in business with a concentration in accounting. During the first year I was enrolled here, I had mixed emotions. The overall attitude portrayed by the student body was very negative. There was always something wrong here, something to be fixed there, and overall disgruntlement. This set the overall tone of discontentment throughout the freshman class; However, after having the time to form my own opinion of the institution, I've come to appreciate it. As a freshman, I was presented with so many opportunities that other freshman may never have the chance of receiving (such as: attending the NATO summit in Norfolk, VA, getting a paid marketing internship, having small classes where my professors knew me by name, free tutoring, free counseling, study abroad opportunities and grants, research grants, and so many more). This institution is fantastic at providing opportunities to grow, support systems to keep you feeling your best, and introducing you to life-altering connections. I chose 4 out of 5 stars because there is always room for improvement. I see daily efforts by the school trying to improve upon itself. I'm excited to see what's to come. If you're considering coming to Virginia Wesleyan University, I highly encourage you to look past the academics. Look into what services are offered for free, the overall support system the school has in place, and the many opportunities open to you. You education is not just about the classroom, It's about how you can grow as a young adult and thrive afterwards.

It is a nice small campus with more smaller class size. Most of the benefits tend to go to batten honors college. professors are very enthusiastic about their work and love to work with you outside of the classroom. the housing on campus isn't the best with mold and rodents being a huge issue. however, only freshman dorms are being redone as of right now.

I think that my school lacks diversity and equality. There is no culture of this school. There is no school pride. There are no resources for financial assistance. This school just traps people, takes money, and treats students like prisoners and not the adults we are trying to become.

Virginia Wesleyan is generally a very good school. Honestly if you love small classes you should go here. Teachers are willing to work with you and have enough time to meet with their students. On campus housing is okay. They have been doing renovations, but there are of course a few issues. There was a black mold issue in my past year roommate's room, but residence life came and took care of it. Sometimes On-campus housing isn't available for sophomores, juniors and seniors, so the school rents out a hotel nearby and offers a shuttle to and from school for free. Its a bit of a pain but they get you on campus as soon as they have a room availability. This year they shut down one dorm to replace the showers so they had a lot of people in the hotels but most of them by a month received a room on campus. Food in the Cafe isn't bad. There's a salad bar, a burgers hot dogs and fries station, a dessert station, A home-cooking station and a random station. There is also a sandwich bar that it sometimes open. The home-cooking station has a a lot of home style cooking entrees and the random station holds sometimes pasta or build your own baked potato. There's always pizza too and just regular pasta if you don't like anything. There's lots of sports and so many clubs! I never get scared on campus because there's always security patrolling around on campus and the hotels.

I have no regrets on moving away from California to come to Virginia Wesleyan University. VWU is a private liberal arts college located in Virginia Beach, Virginia with around 1,500 students. Courses here are advanced and interactive with the ease of having a smaller student to teacher ratio. I love VWU because the atmosphere here is inviting. I remember my first day here I was hesitant about meeting new people and wasn't sure how I could live without my family back home. It was weird for me to see a stranger smile at me and hear them say "good morning," in passing. Now, I greet everyone that I see and I have been able to connect with my professors, faculty, and peers since that first day. Virginia Wesleyan University has become my true home away from home.

The University could be agriculturally updated and the food options can be improved majorly and certain events could be more involving and fun and their can be an increase in scholarship rewards and financial aid also staff members can be more helpful towards students but other than that academically it’ a strong school with a friendly environment.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Virginia Wesleyan College is 89%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
David Brinkley once said, "a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. " The tools that the professors at Virginia Wesleyan College provide to you will ease all of the fears that you have about college. Everything that you have endured through high school has prepared you for success in college. If you ever have any problems in a class, do not hesitate to talk to your professors. They are here to help you succeed and I have not met a single professor on campus that will turn a student away. Most importantly, college is meant to be full of learning along with fun. Do not be afraid to express yourself and make friends. Everyone here is very accepting.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Even though this is a small school, there is a huge sense of community on campus. It starts during freshman orientation when you are split into groups and told to paint a chair. This chair stays on campus all four years you are here. It is always nice to go around and try to find the chair you painted and study in it. Working together to work on projects and then seeing them around really builds a sense of community.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
A small liberal arts college based in Norfolk that offers a wide variety of classes for any major. The mandatory liberal arts classes helps to expand a student's mind so he/she can really focus on what they want to do for the rest of their life. VWC also has a great athletics department and Greek Life.
My school is known for its size. It is a very small school so not many people know about it. It also has great athletics. A lot of different sports teams have made it pretty far in their division, including our softball team being ODAC champions.
I think the best thing about my school is that it is small, and it allows us students to get that one on one help from the professors. Since there are not that many students, teachers actually take their time to read and fix mistakes we make. I find it very beneficial when professors take the time to help students when they make mistakes.
Virginia Wesleyan is an absolutely amazing school! I have met wonderful people and the professors genuinely care for each student. Virginia Wesleyan is not just a college, it is my home.

Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
