I chose Angelo State because I am excited to take part in a school dedicated to a close community and school pride, as well as state of the art education -- specifically I am interested in Angelo’s state's Physical Therapy Program.
I believe Angelo State will give me the best education. Over the course of the next four years, I look forward to taking part in campus traditions, sorority activities, and making new life long friendships.

Angelo State University is gentle and welcoming community. Through my time taking Dual-Credit and visiting on campus, I have always felt a sense of comfort and kindness. Though the town of San Angelo isn’t exactly the biggest , it’s a very tight community. The professors are excellent and so is the school pride!

I love Angelo State. I attend the school as a Physical therapy student. The faculty is amazing, the students create a great atmosphere that makes you feel like you are at home. I feel immensely supported despite the fact that I am 13 hours away from home. I don't know much about the rest of the campus as I am mostly confined to 3 buildings but one of the buildings is new and nice to be in. The other ones are something to be desired but they get the job done. Overall, I love this university and I would suggest the Physical Therapy program to anyone interested in the field

It is a really good school. it has its flaws but it is pretty good. it has a nice area to help students who are struggling. I always feel like it is a very safe place. They also do a great job at hiring people to keep the place looking great. I also see people trimming the trees or hedges or just simple maintenance every day as I walk to class. It is also decently affordable for normal college prices so that is a big win.

I love this campus ! Very friendly people and the energy around the whole school is very good ! I hope to return soon to campus and see all the smiling faces greet me back. This is one of the first campuses that makes me feel at home for the most part because they are so welcoming!

Advisors do a great job of getting students the information they need in order to move forward. Coming here as a first-generation student, I was not sure what to expect. It was due to the administration that I lasted as long as I did. Classes were informational, and most professors are easy to get along with.

Angelo State offers a quality education at an affordable cost. The professors truly care about students and are readily accessible, whether you are looking for help understanding the course material, wanting advice on how to start a research project or needing a letter of recommendation. With its well-developed exchange program and large international student population, Angelo is ideal for individuals who are interested in studying abroad or want to experience other cultures while still at home. This incredible academic opportunity is paired with reasonable tuition and fees and a unique scholarship program. They automatically qualify students for merit scholarships based on their SAT/ACT scores. On top of all this, the school is located in the friendliest place I have ever had the pleasure of calling home. I loved every moment of my undergraduate experience and I would highly recommend ASU to any college-bound student.

I really do like ASU. It's a hidden gem that is nice and laid back. Here, I do not feel pressured by my classes or having to keep up with everyone else. Everyone here is easy to get along with, there isn't much to do in the city itself but it's great for those that don't go out much. My friends and I usually hang out in our dorms or in the library, we grab a bite to eat, and sometimes go to the gym, and play racquetball. It an easy-going place, but my favorite part is that I can feel at ease anywhere there.

It’s a pretty good school. I like the classroom sizes bc you get to interact more with the professors. The on campus housing is good too I just wish the faucets and shower drains would work a little better but overall it’s nice. The clubs on campus are really fun as well I’m glad they offer so much options when deciding what to join.

The school is very humble but great! I love going to the University Center to grab a bite to eat and relax or study with friends. The library has great hours and friendly staff. The professors are helpful and educated. Plus there is a large art scene here and motivation for creating art in a creative and safe space.

The first moment I set foot on campus over a year ago, I fell in love. My love for ASU only grew more profound as I began attending and making new friends. And now, after completing the second semester of my freshman year in May, I can say that ASU is truly my home. It will always hold a special place in my heart because that is where I met my chosen family. The experiences I've had so far and the people that have come into my life will have a lasting impact on me. Not to mention that the faculty and staff are wonderful. You always find a smiling face and someone open and willing to talk to you about anything. The campus is beautiful and very well-kept. Well, except for the wildflower reserve between the Rassman Building and Texan Hall (my dorm). The food is always delicious and they always have something for everyone. They are also extremely accommodating to those with physical, developmental, or cognitive issues. They are happy to allow a service dog or cat to live in the dorm so long as the student provides the required documentation. I couldn't have picked a better place to continue my educational journey.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Angelo State University is 74%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell my self to be more open to making new friends. That I dont have to be afriad and only hang out with the same people from high school becasue it is easier to get through college when you know other people at yor school. It also helps so that when you need to study for classes then you can get help. It also helps you stay more active in school and getting involved. I would tell my self to go to school events and not worry about what my firends want to do. if i want to do something then i should do it. I would remind myself that im the kind of person who like to be active in school and groups and if i dont stay with it in school then I will not always be happy. i would also tell myself to apply for scholarships early on and get money for school because its not cheap. I would have tried to get into more school financial aid programs that are offered to freshman that would help me to pay for school since now i work all the time just to pay for classes.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Angelo State University is an amazing school with friendly professors that are willing to help students if the students simply ask, classes that are engaging and interesting and full of information that helps you learn more about various subjects, a beautiful campus that provides a calming and peaceful atmosphere, and friendly classmates that are easy to communicate with.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known that my parents were not able to help me more financially with college. I did not know that I would have to pay this much to attend Angelo State University. My my expected family contribution was supposed to be 15,000, and unfortunately my parents are not in the position to help me out with any money. It would have helped to know that I would not be receiving any financial aid because my parents make too much, but are not able to help me.
Angelo State University is probably best known for being one of the top universities in west Texas. As a member of the Texas Tech system of universities, Angelo State provides top academic and athletic programs. The nuring, physics, and agriculture programs are some of the best in the state and it one of the reasons I chose Angelo State among other choices.
I have seen all kinds, every kind of student from the driven to the lazy, from the white american to the chinese immigrant, I found the driven and intelligent and we succeeded together.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Angelo State is a great environment for hardworking students, but if you are planning on attending Angelo State and simply partying this may not be the school for you. It's a friendly medium sized suburban area that seems crime free, if applicants are trouble makers and or criminals I discourage them from attending Angelo State. But overall if you are not friendly, hardworking, leveled tempered, outgoing or open minded then this University is not for you.
Angelo State really is a school for anyone and everyone. While we are located in west central Texas and a typical conservative mentality seems to loom in the background occasionally, we have a diverse group of students and faculty. It is apparent that our staff is trying to engage and attract a diverse group of students. We also have an international studies program that has grown exponentially in the past few years and only continues to improve. The faculty and staff on campus are also relatively diverse and do an excellent job of making all students feel welcome.
While visiting many other schools I also had the opportunity to tour Angelo State University. It's a very small school compared to some of the other campuses in Texas such as A&M and the University of Texas. However, I found that was the novelty of the school and what I enjoyed most about it. The ability to walk from one end of the campus to the other in ten minutes enticed me. Supplemented by the great people that go there and the many friends I've made makes it a great school in my opinion.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
