I am a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and I love it! It is such a great way to meet people coming from a high school where I only has 2 other girls who came to Auburn with me. My favorite social tradition is the Alpha Psi Rodeo. It's always such a good time.

In my opinion, it is hard to find something to do on the weekends that doesn't involve drinking. Since the majority of students at Auburn drink, finding things to do on the weekend without alcohol is especially difficult. Going to the movies or going bowling get old and cost alot of money. One thing I enjoy doing on the weekends is taking road trips. Even though it makes the weekend go by too fast, taking a short trip can be so much fun. Students who are not into drinking have to think to come up with creative things to do for fun on the weekend.

THe most popular groups on campus are club sports teams, greek life, honor societies, SGA and camp ware eagle and SOS.
Athletic events are very popular, guest speakers are popular for the particular major or department that it applies to.
The best way to get a date is to meet people through groups and organizations. I met my closest friends from my freshmen year dorm, sorority and through some of my major classes that I have with all the same people at this point.
If I'm awake on 2am on a Tuesday, it would be because of homework, but I cant remember the last time I've had to be up past 1 because of homework.
People party whenever they want, birthdays or just having fun. But it's not everywhere and it's easy to either take part in or to avoid, it just depends on what you prefer.
I went ot the beach last weekend, which is another good thing about Auburn, its only 3 hours away.

Athletic events are very popular and usually crowded. Dorm life is very relaxed and you tend to form a bond with those you live around. There is usually always something to do on campus on any given night. Its just knowing when to party and when to study.

I am a Pi Beta Phi and I met most of my new friends through it. Either they are a pi phi too or I met them through a pi phi friend. I would definitely recommend joining a sorority. I just wish we had sorority houses where they fed us meals like most other school's sororities have and also our fraternities have.
Kris
everything Auburn hosts turns into a social event. THE students at auburn love to support eachother, whether is't a play, soccer game, or school gathering.
Brooke
Fraternities and sororities are pretty big and most people drink a lot.
Alli
Sororities, Fraternities, and sports are the closest organizations that I have seen. You get very close to these people because you do spend a lot of time with them! I am pretty involved around campus and love it! I continue to meet more and more people, which can only beneficial. Bowling, movies, band parties, house parties, and going out to dinner with your friends. Since we are in college, a lot of people do drink, but also there are many people who do not! Auburn truly is a diverse campus, and it is not hard to meet people!
Allison
Football games are by far the most exciting, popular sporting event. So much, that sometimes people complain that we are not fully supporting our other sport teams. . I think Greek like is very important, and i LOVE it. I live off campus so most of the things I do are generally off campus.
Brooke
I think the most popular activity on campus for my sorority would be intramural sports. Every girl loves not only to be on the teams but to go to the games and cheer each other on. A lot of Auburn students love to party. Some a little too much. My sorority is extremely important to me. It really helped me to find the right group of friends and a way to get involved on campus.
Mary
There is always something social to do in Auburn. The University Program Council makes an effort to put on concerts and movies frequently. Also, if a student decides to join a Greek organization (fraternity or sorority) there are plenty of social activities to get involved in.
Alex
The most popular groups on campus are sororities, student gov't and sports teams. Football is a major part of Auburn. I am involved in Pi Beta Phi its a great way to meet life long friends. Athletic events, guest speakers, and theatre are very common and i have been to several event already this year. I have met my closest friends through my sorority, dorm and through orientation over the summer. Greek life is an important part of Auburn , but it is not necessary it does not make up a significant amount of the student body and many of my friends are not invoved in greek life. On a saturday night you can go see a movie, hang out with friends, go downtown and get coffee, go to a concert.
Katherine
Auburn is a small town so not much is going on outside of what the campus is promoting. The few bars downtown are always busy and it always seems like the same thing every night you go out. Fraternities have big parties that usually just consist of other greek members but mostly during the Fall. The football and baseball teams are the most popular.
Sara
We used to leave our dorm rooms unlocked at night, but with a couple of rapes that happened last year, we started to lock it. The bars at Auburn are so much fun, and you can always run into people you know at every single bar. I feel that fraternities and sororities are getting less and less popular and don't mean as much as they used to. During freshman year, I felt that people partied all the time. As you get older though, your school gets harder and you can only go out on weekends.
Addison
The most popular is the greek system, college republicans/democrats, intramural sports, ROTC, Project Uplift, . I'm involved in the greek system and also other organizations. I really love it and i think that it is something that must fit you. It has many opportunities and activities to participate in. Yes my whole hall leaves their doors open. Athletic events, guest speakers, and theatre are al popular i have attended them all and still plan to. There are a lot of couples around campus. I met my closest friends through my sorority and my suite mates from freshman year. If i am awake at 2:00 i am either studying or downtown. People tend to party a lot. It's not all about frats and sororities but when your in the greek system and can seem that way. I went out with my friends and shopped downtown. You can go see a movie, go bowling, go downtown. I shop at tiger town, go bowling, go to the movies.
Kaitlin
When I lived in the dorm I left my door open becauyse I was really close with everyone on my hall and that is where I met my closest friends. Athletic events are very popular especially football. Saturdays turn Auburn into a new world and EVERYONE LOVES IT!!! WAR EAGLE!!! If I am awake at 2am I am probably getting food. EVerything around here stays open pretty late but SURPRISINGLY the library is a pretty hoppin place at 2am also becuase it stays open 24hours. Fratiernities and Sororities do not even make up one fourth of the student body but a great thing about sororites here are that they hold the highest GPA of any student group on campus. Events that happen here each year that are amazing are tailgating on saturday, rolling toomers corner, the rodeo, O days, War Eagle Days, Tiger Nights, Greek Sing, Tiger Stomp, pep rallys, Greek week, Derby Days
Lauren
Greek organizations appear to be the largest on campus, or at least the most present at the most events from what I have seen.
Whitney
I think that greek life is a big part of Auburn. However, the people not involved in them are not looked down upon or treated any different.
Allison
Greek life is pretty big here
Dean
We always leave our doors open in the dorms. Everyone loves football and other sports. Rolling Toomer's Corner is probably the best known Auburn tradition. Greek like is definitely optional, but it is awesome!
