Belhaven University fosters an environment of respect, love, and service. The small classes allow for greater interaction between the professors and students. Students are encouraged to explore different worldviews to gain a greater insight into the world around them. Students on the Belhaven University campus have opportunities to serve the community around us during natural disasters or simply care for those in need. I believe that the foundation of this campus reflects the work of God's kingdom on earth as best as it humanly can. There are areas that could always be improved and the President Parrott of Belhaven is always open to concerns.

I have had an amazing experience at Belhaven so far! There is an amazing sense of family and community between the student body, The faculty is helpful and genuinely wants you to succeed. I can't recommend it enough. It has an amazing dance program as well! Definitely a stand out!
Lashavia - 01/17/2020
Belhaven University is really big about academics and I love it because it is a small environment and people here are friendly and are willing to help you with things when help is needed. You can actually go to the professor one-on-one help if you have questions about any kind of work.
Carissa - 07/19/2019
Belhaven is a quiet small campus that has many opportunities for students and teachers to get involved. I like the school, but most of the students are very unwelcoming and rude. They are very judgemental sometimes
Wesly - 07/14/2019
Belhaven University is a very clearly defined liberal arts college with distinctly Christian values. It is why I chose such a place. Occasionally the two things mix and conflict, but most professors are well-versed in steering constructive discussion. I would certainly recommend their part-time graduate level programs in Education.

BELHAVEN HAS THE BEST SCHOOL ACADEMIC WISE AND I LOVE THE PEOPLE THERE ! Also, I love the students there. My teammates are the overall best. The coaching staff there is great. The overall staff is awesome. There is nothing there that you cannot get done.

I believe that Belhaven University fosters an environment that puts education in the top position of importance while still working to create a student life that is engaging and enjoyable for students who live both on and off campus. The class sizes allow for each student to receive the attention they need and the availability of my professors both in and out of class has been nothing less than great. Not only have professors helped with educational needs, but there have been times where they have helped non-local students find services for things dental care or auto repair. All in all, both faculty and staff at Belhaven have proven to be kind and helpful, expressing genuine care for their students.

Belhaven is a great university if you are looking for a place with a small, homey feel. Class sizes are generally pretty small unless they are general education classes, and the professors are amazing. Very helpful and accommodating. However, it is a really small campus and can tend to seem suffocating at times.
Shonda - 06/21/2019
I feel as if Belhaven is a place of not just learning to get a degree but they are more into our worldview of our lives outside of school, due to Belhaven being a Christian college. Not only you take what you learn academically but making sure to keep God in our everyday life and work as well.
Letassha - 06/20/2019
I love my school, i love the Christian foundatio we have there.
Cristan - 05/24/2019
I love the school! Belhaven has helped me grow academically, musically, and spiritually! The professors are always available, and the relationships you create with the professors are irreplaceable. I could not imagine being any where else. Belhaven is the perfect fit!
Jadyn - 04/22/2019
Belhaven University has a beautiful campus. I like the smaller size of the campus because it feels more like a family and a home. The people were so welcoming and pleasant and I loved the Christ-center environment they provide.
hailey - 11/04/2018
It is a beautiful campus, there is a ton of scenery all over campus and the facilities are clean and the campus security is wonderful and always make sure that it is safe, the chemistry is amazing on campus, and the teachers are very supportive and are great at interacting with students
shanda - 07/26/2018
My overall opinion of Belhaven University is described as a great opportunity for people of Christian belief to really expand in their faith. We are a Christian school and Christ is a big priority for us. We learn how to grow in our faith and how to teach others especially the youth. We are a division three school and we have a beautiful campus and we are still building and trying to make it better. The faculty and staff are humbled and sweet people that genuinely care about their students. They are willing to work hard and make sure that their students have an understanding of what they are trying to accomplish here at Belhaven.
Kylind - 07/05/2018
Belhaven is a great school. It's very safe, and everyone there is polite and very helpful. The classes aren't big which makes it easier to pay attention, and to ask the professor for help if needed. I am so glad I chose this university, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Belhaven University is 42%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I've had a very bad experience with picking the wrong school because of the scholarship they were ofering me . Althought my entire undergraduate education would have been payed for, the city the school was located in was not a good fit for me. I would tell students and parents to make sure everything about the school feel like the best fit for the student because you can not learn if you are not happy.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I would say that the most frustrating thing about the school that I attend is that there are not as many financial resources as perhaps larger universities would have available to them. The campus has somwhat older facilities and the meals could definitely be better prepared.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about Belhaven is the judgemental people. Some of the teachers have their own ideas of the school standards and judge you silently (and sometimes not so silently) on those ideas, and the students aren't always much better. But that's not everyone.
Belhaven is one of the only private Christian institutions accredited in all of the Arts. That is what most people seem to know about it, and initially that is why I chose to go there.
The professors are the best thing there because they actually care about what you think and feel, not only when you're in their class but also in your daily life. They're completely approachable and caring, but their not afraid to say "Hey, I'm the teacher here. Mind yourself." A lot of the professors regularly have students over to their houses for coffee or tea and philosophical discussions. I doubt that there are very many people at Belhaven that are unmentored by a professor, except by choice.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known about the policy of counseling. Certain staff members are hardcore about the mental, emotional, and spiritual welfare of the student body, sometimes too much. Extremes are at both ends, and the staff goes to both ends.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
My professors are truly wonderful. I especially appreciate the psychology faculty; I can tell that they genuinely love what they do. Plus, they definitely care about the growth of students, not only as students, but as individuals in the world.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
100% of students attending Belhaven University receive some sort of financial aid.
59% were awarded federal grants.74%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
