Great school. Have visited many times and attended games, plays, and other activities on campus. The professors are available and care about their students and content. It is easy to get in touch with whomever you may need from admissions to academics.

While I did enjoy taking classes at Bluefield College, my online options were a bit frustrating as all courses were 8 weeks, and eventually I was forced to leave due to lack of financial aid. After leaving, only a small number of my classes were able to be applied at a community college, which has ultimately left me with some frustration and disappointment.

I visited the college for RAM Day to tour and everything and it was great and so was the staff! I decided that with my kids it would be hard to attend school full time, so I went to online. Even as an online student, the staff is easy to contact with very prompt answers!

The campus is beautiful and easy to maneuver. The professors enjoy what they do and are always willing to help when a student is struggling. Not matter what you are struggling with there is always someone who is willing to listen and help. The students are active in the community and on campus. You feel like you are loved and welcome. I can't think of a place better suited for furthering your education.

It is a wonderful school if you are interested in liberal arts! The sports her are wonderful the school is mainly about sports because the is what most of the school is base off of. The class rooms are not big there is a lot of one on one with you and the teacher. The cafe food is good on some days mostly on Wednesday. Because that's when we have chapel. I like to go to chapel every wednesday because i get the word and we also have a guess speaker that gives a little bit of information about life.

I loved everything when I came to visit can't wait for my first day in August! I will be playing volleyball which. will help ease my freshman year experience in meeting new people. The school is very clean and laid back and the class room sizes are smaller than your average.

Bluefield College is an overall great college. There are a variety of activities to be included in, during and after class. There is little to no parties/ drinking going on. For all I know, there are no drugs going on. Most all of us students are here to be educated. Bluefield College is an amazing college where anyone can fit in.

Bluefield College is the college you want to go to if you want to be loved and cared for by the people in the environment. At Bluefield College, there is only positive attitude and a healthy learning environment. It's small campus and beautiful, rolling hills is always a sight I love. Attending Bluefield College was the best idea I've had.

overall, I am having a very pleasant experience at BC. The academics are great! It also feels as though everyone on campus cares about your well-being. The class size is small so you can have good conversations with your professors if there is something you do not understand. For my classes I have had about a 15:1 teacher student ratio for most, sometimes a little more. The food is not great but there are places elsewhere you can eat in driving distance. I am so glad I made Bluefield College my choice!

Through my time at Bluefield College, I experienced a lot, and my faith became stronger. I’ve got closer to God and have a better understanding of what he has called me to do. The people I have become friends with are my friends for a lifetime; I would say that they were put in my life for a reason and I just don’t plan on losing contact with them after school. I’ve learned to put my priorities first and stay true to what I want to accomplish. I have never felt closer to God before coming to this College, and I felt as if my faith and relationship with God has gotten stronger. I came from a difficult background, and my first year here I would say I didn’t want to be here really, but as I started going to chapel and listening to different messages that were being preached, I felt as if they all was directed towards me. It made me think differently about myself and why God brought me this far. Throughout my life, I have always wanted to encourage other and help them any way possible, and I met a teacher/advisor/academic coach named Brenda Workman who did exactly that. I would say that Mrs. Workman helped me better understand how college works and that it might get hard at some points, but you can make it happen if you put your mind to it. Mrs. Workman reminds me of my grandmother because she shows to everyone here nothing less and wants everyone to succeed. She has taught me a lot about what helping and caring for others look like, and also how much faith she has in everyone in this school. I believe that God has called me major in Criminal Justice because I admire helping and protecting others. Since I was young, I always played either football or cops and robbers, and I would always be the cop. With saying that I think he already mapped out what he wants me to become in life once I reach the stage I am at right now. I plan on joining the Law Enforcement where I could find a Job at after College, but I am also debating if I want to adhere to the military and become a Coast Guard. Either route I take, I believe I will be happy, and God will show me what will be best for me. My grandmother always told me if I am unsure of something pray on it and God will show me the way, I would say that every time I have something great always happens. I’m very grateful to be able to attend Bluefield College, and becoming closer to Christ I hope that he continues to bless me with knowledge for the rest of my life so that I would continue being the example for my younger siblings and my future family I hope to build.

I love Bluefield College! I admit the college is different than I thought it would be but I still love it. I expected it to have more of a religious community, But then I had to realize that we are not all here for the same reasons. There are students here that only attend because of sports and they do not all know who God is.

Bluefield College is a Christ-Centered College that provides a wonderful education opportunity for students. Most of the Students that attend Bluefield College are working towards an Education Degree or a Criminal Justice Degree. Another popular reason to attend Bluefield College is for the athletic program. They do have quite a few wonderful extracurricular activities/clubs to join which look excellent on your resume, including but not limited to, Black Student Alliance, Latino Student Alliance, Bluefield Student Ministries, and much more. It is very easy to become involved on campus. It is a very small town and there isn't always a lot going on but it's what you make of it. The facilities are all update and have the latest technology. The professors are all very helpful and are always available for help, if you ask for it. I enjoyed my time at Bluefield College but they do not offer my major. So, I will be transferring but overall the experience I had was great.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Try to make friends first before dating. Also, be aware that having a roommate means there is no way to escape them. Make sure it's someone you know you can get along and/or compromise with. If you're too different, you'll do nothing but bicker for 10 months, which is miserable. Don't take on too many extra activities, and focus on work. The library is the best place to focus, since a dorm is more relaxed.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
Currently I feel that the most frustrating thing about Bluefield College would be the confussion of the programs that they offer. When searching for an institution to complete my graduate degree I was completely unaware that Bluefield College offered a Master's of Arts in Education. After reviewing their website and speaking with advisors I then realzied that this would be an excellent fit for me.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I love this school. It may be a little far from home but they make you feel at home. I just wish I would have knew how expensive of a school this is. I wish I could have saved money up for it. Now because of the money issue I am not so sure how many more semesters I can be here. I hope I never have to leave though.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The school is in a area where you have to accept what they have. You are surround around mountains and if you are looking to be in a city area you woud have to travel to the city. They have shopping areas and stores where you can go and get the stuff you need , but it might not be in your standards. You do not have alot of opitions to pick from and that would probaly be the wrost thing about the school. It is in a very country area you must get use to.
Bluefield College is to help people find God's calling for your life. Through their weekly contemporary praise service called blessings and more (BAM), campus wide convocation, residence hall bible studies , you will grow toward becoming the man/woman that God has call you to be. Their 17 majors are designed to help all students realize their greatest potential in service to God, their country, their communities and themselves. The students come from more than 35 state and six countries. The average SAT was 930 and GPA 3.0. Curriculum of the college endeavors to equip its student for life.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
When you come to Bluefield you learn that there is not really a certain type of person that shouldn't be here. We have people from all over the world that come here, whether it be for sports or an education. Here at Bluefield we accept everyone.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I only brag about the education department at this school. Bluefield College's education department is nationally accrediated and it is a huge accomplishment for the college since this school is one out of very few that are nationally accrediated.

What makes Bluefield College unique is the fact that not only can you find an amazing education in a rural, community setting , but also an array of close friends that you'll have for the rest of your life. Take it from me! I'm a Psychology, as well as, Art major and I met my best friend there and more importantly, the love of my life!
