The staff at Central Arizona College is friendly and helpful, the tuition is affordable, and there are adequate professors. I felt support and guidance were always at reach when attending CAC. However, my campus offered limited in-person classes and few extracurricular activities or clubs. The in-person classes I did enroll in were substantially small in number of students, with one of my courses consisting of three students, including me. As an out-of-state student, I found it difficult to make friends, connect to others, and get involved at this school.

It's a good school to get your general ed courses done. The campus is nice with good food and student life center. The athletics aren't really attended as much or announced. The campus only operating from Monday-Thursday with Friday-Sunday the campus being close with the exception of the cafeteria & couple other places. Pros nice weather, walkable campus, food. Cons lack of student engagement, lack of activities to do on weekends.

Central Arizona College is a good community college to attend. The professors are amazing and are always willing to cooperate and help, whether its with academics, internships, scholarships, or projects. There are not many clubs, fraternities, or sororities on the campus however, which is a big downside in my own opinion. However, that doesn't hold anyone back from creating little groups that we all get together and socialize in. I for one have a group that's full of other engineers. We talk about the classes we have, help each other understand all the new concepts we are introduced to, and have great times when we are all together. CAC provides a lot of opportunities to socialize as well since they do hold events where people can get together and meet new people. Overall, Central Arizona College is a good community college that I believes just needs further development to establish that overall "college" experience.

I have only been coming to Central Arizona College for a semester and a half, but I have learned that the registration of classes is pretty easy and the administration is very helpful with getting you the information you need. For my first semester, I took an ITV class where my professor taught at another campus and I did my work online, but now I am studying completely online and that has helped a lot with balancing my schedule. Whether it was at the ITV or at home, my professors never hesitate to answer any questions I have, making the college experience easier than I expected.

Very good community college. People care about each other and there is always someone available to answer questions. Professors are either really good or really bad, there isn’t much in-between. For the most part the staff is really good, but some of the advisors are really difficult to deal with.

I enjoy being a student here, however when it comes to student services it could use some work. For example, a lot of students don’t know about certain services and should be aware of them. There should be more workshops teaching students how to access things that could make college life easier for them.

I feel the staff and professors are very active in directly helping students. However, many facilities are lackluster and information can be hard to get on specific topics. Central Arizona College is also more interested on making engineers and farmers exclusively. This isn't against those in the professions, but it means the college greatly negates other programs. The arts are almost non-existent as music, theatre, and dance, were all but picked apart just after hiring very notable professors to take the helm of these courses. If you don't want to work in a field or factory all day, Central Arizona College should be your last choice.

I am primarily an online student of CAC, I like all of the online options that this college offers. I like that many professors are available to help and have both offline and online office hours so students can get access to help when they need it. The testing center has long hours to accommodate the schedules of online students as well.

I have really enjoyed my time here at Central Arizona College. It is quite versatile and very easy to make dreams happen. You can be a part-time or full-time student and there are multiple campuses, so if you cannot attend class at one campus you can always take it at another. I think it is a good place to get prerequisite courses out of the way and also take other courses as well.

This school is a in small town in the middle of no where with only one store close by. Don't let this rural location fool you because this college offers big opportunities with always someone willing to help! There are many sources to utilize when you need help with academics, books, financial aid or anything else that you need.

It's a good starting out college. There's multiple campuses to go to, and one was just ten minutes from my house! It's small enough to get to know the people and be comfortable after a short while. I enjoyed most of my professors. They provided a good learning environment for me to learn and thrive in.

It is a good place to start your education and learn about the world around you as well as gain opportunities for future scholarships and transferring to higher universities. The primary campus has housing but the other campuses do not, there is food available at all campuses.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would have continued with my academic career after graduating from High School opposed to coming back 20+years.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
Central Arizona College is small, convenate and have great professors. The Professors really care about you.
Central Arizona is a fun school to attend.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
My advice for prospective students will be take a tour of the campus first so that you won't get lost as I did and to not let the college scene intimidate you so much. Focus on work.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The classes at Central Arizona College are smaller compared to many other schools. This is good because it means more one on one learning and it helps to better understand the material. It means you can ask questions during the class, rather than having to ask questions after class, or not getting to know the professor at all. This intimate setting allows students to perform better in the classroom.
The best thing about my school is how there are many resources to get assistance from, for instance the library staff is very knowledgable about where to find good sources for research papers, the tutoring center have developed a system where everyone can get extra assistance, and the school continues to find ways to reach their students online. Central Arizona College also does a great way of mapping students' courses to transfer to universities.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Central Arizona College is perfect for students who are getting their general studies out of the way or are looking for an AA as a starting point of finding the path they want to take for a career. It is not for those who plan on going into a specialized field such as being an Anthropologist. They just don't offer the courses required for specialized goals.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is some teachers still treat students like they are still in High School. Once you miss so many classes, despite your high points on homework and tests, they will still withdraw you. I have run into only select teachers who still practice this guidline.
I really do like this school. It allows me both online and in school classes. When I need help I am able to get with advisers, professors, and financial aid personnel. I have helped my daughter with her school financial aid and it really is a pain. When you call in you are sent to a call center and they have 6 other schools they work with. The only way to get any help there is to stand in line for hours and finally talk to someone from that school...I am able to speak to my school directly. I have personal lines for the proper people, and they get back to me like they say they will. They have much to offer every time I log into my blackboard I see a new event that has been scheduled. When I am not near the college and I have a midterm or final I am able to have it proctored at a local college where I am at...I love it.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
71% of students attending Central Arizona College receive some sort of financial aid.
57% were awarded federal grants.18%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
