Cottey's academics are absolutely phenomenal. The class sizes are small, and you get to truly know your professors and your professors also want to learn about you. It is a small campus, so it's very quick and easy to get around; it's hard to get lost. The food is also incredible!

Briannah - 07/14/2019

Cottey is a great school for women who want to make a difference! I'm super excited to be a part of this community and be able to enjoy my learning experience with other students who want the same thing! Even though this fall will be my first year at Cottey I have heard great things about the community and school. I am excited to be able to participate in traditional events and make new friends!

I love Cottey I can't wait to attend!!

Heather - 04/12/2018

Academic wise, it is a fantastic school. Your teachers are always available and willing to help. Making friends is very easy, and there are tons of things to do. The community is very involved in helping and being there for the students with job opportunities, homes to stay in during break, and just supporting the school in general.

  8. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

During the 2011/2012 school year I attended Cottey College on an Academic and Volleyball scholarships. I did know that Cottey was a private, all-girls school, and I think that Cottey's aim of women helping other women is great. However, I felt that Cottey was just like a giant sorority, and I was not comfortable with all the traditions, etc. The curriculum at Cottey is extremely tough; I didn't feel that my high school had prepared me enough for some of my classes. I would recommend Cottey to academic achievers.

  9. What kind of person should not attend this school?

The bottom line: women wanting to be only a number in college and who are uninterested to take an active role in life need not apply. Cottey challenges students, and women unwilling to open themselves up, explore their options and recognize their value in the world have no place at Cottey College. Students looking for the "typical college experience" may also be disappointed. Those wanting to change the world, however, find their home at Cottey College.

  10. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

I think the most frustrating thing about Cottey is all of the false advertisment that you get as a perspective student. All I heard about before I came here was how incredible the education you recive is, and how great the staff are, and much more. Most true or at least mostly true, but I wish the school would just sell its as it is a unquie small school with tons of personality, rather than trying to make seem like something it isn't.
