Although John Jay was not my first choice of school I do not regret attending. There are many opportunities to get involved in your school and community and the support system whether personal or academic is very helpful and easily accessible. I have used many student help offices multiple times and left happy and supported each time. People looking for friends are also around every corner if you are willing to look for them.

John Jay is a school where one might enters being ignorant about so many political, historical, and cultural movements, and once we start school we are completely immerse in the reality of our society where one is not longer in the shadows of what is happening. I am beyond grateful to have been a student there because the fight for social justice in the school is real, we become participant of the change that needs to be done in so many social structures and systems, and most importantly we become aware. The school has a great number of interesting academic routes, amazing professors, great facilities, and there is a lot of networking to be done with so many industries that work helping to change the justice system. This has been a well rounded school, with all the necessary assistance and programs for us leaders of the future.

The worst thing for me about this school was I did not get to experience all of this campus had to offer. Thus, due to several factors: one being, one major and four minor surgeries during the attendance of 2012-2014 school years. Another, includes an acknowledgement of uncontrolled diabetes diagnose towards the ending classes of the BA studies. Finally, the last factor is the effect that these two factors above had on my studies GPA and the means for my supportive income, my NY CDL. The best thing about John Jay College is the structure of the classes. This university caters to Police and Firefighters whos schedules fluctuates week to week. This suited my work schedules as there were many days that I had to work a late shift and in essence was able to take the morning class. This school is located in the center of Manhattan's rush hour. Though it delivers almost everything, travel is costly and often times long for the majority of students! The train station is nearby, therefore helpful, however the walk from the station to the college is about ten minutes. I wish I knew I'd need to leave my house two hours before class time!
