Meg
Most people believe Emerson students are "art freaks." Even on some of the Boston tours, the guides will point to Emerson and say, "there's the fruit stand."
Arielle
They're hipsters, they smoke, they think they're avant-garde, they have an east-coast attitude
Angela
All are obsessed with theater, everyone is gay
Katie
Very liberal, artsy students
Large gay and lesbian population
passionate and ambitious students
Alex
Smoke cigarettes and pot a lot. Gay. Not Hot guys. No sports.
Lisa
Emersonians are very full of themselves. They all dye their hair crazy colors and wear tight pants and black eyeliner. (Yes, the guys too).
Jessika
They're all gay or hipsters, or both. Pretentious film/lierature/music snobs.
Megan
Smokers. Homosexuals. Deviants. Potheads. Cellpone overusers. Rich bitches.
Katie
Very artsy, very gay, stoners.
Jerry
Artsy, focused, pretentious, creative.
Maria
artsy, dedicated to our craft, liberal
Blake
They are all the kids who were weird and didn't fit in in high school.
Connie
We're all a bunch of sissy indie rock listening hipster pothead alcoholics.
Abbie
They're artsy, rich, pretentious, smoke cigarettes, and know nothing about sports. They're all gay, dress strangely, and are going to be living in boxes when they graduate. Oh, and they all applied to NYU and came here when they didn't get it.
Kelly
Very artsy and into film, dramatic (small theater program that is very present, but most students are performers of some sort), loads of hipster trash, lots of cigarettes, lots of questioning sexuality(Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Whatever-goes)
Ben
The stereotype of Emerson Students is either that they are flamboyant gay guys, or moody scene kids. There is also the pretentious artist.
Brady
Emerson students are all gay, smokers, creative/artsy
Alex
We are stereotyped into being trust-fund baby hipsters. And film nerds. Very opinionated and shallow in terms of art, and never ironic enough in terms of fashion. Everyone has a major nicotine addiction, evidenced by the solid layer of cigarette butts outside the Little Building. The major one is all the men are gay, which is the only diversity in the school. The advertised racial diversity (though they do it without saying the word racial) is a facade, built to conceal the stereotype that we're all white.
And we all smoke pot.
Alex
The most common stereotypes seems to either be that all Emerson students are hipsters, or all Emerson males are gay. Overall the school does have the general persona of being very artsy, hip, and liberal.
Michelle
The sterotype is that we are all homosexuals, smokers, hipsters, and pretentious artsy-type people.
