Fairmont State is home to me, this college brought me to life and has amazing professors to ensure students get the proper education to the point of graduation. Fairmont State has the most welcoming people you could ever meet as well, I am proud to call it home!

I personally love going to school here. I have joined Greek Life. I am going for a double major with Criminal Justice and National Security and Intelligence. I go to as many football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball games as I can! I have honestly found my home!

I love the school and it has helped me to meet so many individuals that are like-minded, but also fosters conversations where we can share our differing viewpoints in a respectful way. The classes are small enough that your opinion can be heard, but not so small that the room feels empty or the conversations repetitive. The facilities on campus are very nice, I love that there is a pool and a high quality gym. I would have to say the library is my favorite place though, there are endless places to complete homework and get some study sessions in.

Nice little campus. Class sizes of a community college but with the resources of a university. Always able to reach my professors for help. Very friendly and accepting community to where no one will feel isolated. Cafeteria has a lot of different options for food to where you are never eating the same thing each day.

I love Fairmont State University. Fairmont State is a medium size college that has smaller class sizes so the professor knows their students names and faces. This leads to many people being very comfortable going to professors to help. To me this is the biggest upside. Another great upside is that we are not far from Morgantown where many people like to party which allows those who like to party to do so and those who do not to stay in peace on campus.

Overall, Fairmont State University is a great school. It was the only school I toured my junior year of high school and I immediately fell in love with it. The academics are great with smaller class sizes and professors who promote the success of each student. I love that I have the attention and resources that I need to be successful in my future career. The campus also offers many amenities, which allow students to engage in activities that suit their personalities and needs. The campus is small, which creates an atmosphere which seems both safe and like a community. Although there are a few things that concern me about the school, Fairmont State is the right school for people looking for a smaller school with a dedicated staff and great programs of study.

It is a good school. I would've liked to of gone to a different school but FSU is still a good opportunity for me and I'm glad that I was able to get in. I'm excited for my year to start and see what college life is like. I cant wait to meet new people and make new friends. It is going to be a good year for me.

Fairmont State University has an abundance of opportunities and benefits. Unlike other colleges, Fairmont wants to assure every student that there is help for you. The faculty is excellent with feeling all your needs even if it isn’t school related. They want to understand your physical and mental state. The faculty will also want to get to know you and become a great companion. Overall, this is definitely a college I would recommend.

It's always a great place to be. The staff is very nice and helpful. The students live for the football and basketball games. Greek life is fun and amazing. I enjoy getting to know new people and my roommate. The classes are a decent size but the learning environment is easy and calm.

When I visited Fairmont State I knew it was the school for me! I have been accepted and plan on attending in the Fall of 2019. I honestly can't wait to go and become apart of everything! The campus is beautiful and the academics are stellar, they even have a National Security and Intelligence major, which is what I plan on majoring in!

I am from Houston Texas. Fairmont is a HUGE downsize for me but I absolutely love it. The class sizes are small, its easy to meet people and get involved and the professors are very attentive to active and participating students. Its a gorgeous area with a lot of local dining at activity. Its a real college town and the locals are so nice to us!
Sierra
Fairmont State University is a wonderful place. I have spent almost 4 years here and loved every second of it. It's small but not to small and the professors and staff are very personable. I would definitely recommend this University.

Fairmont State University is a great place for students looking for a future job that requires more education/knowledge. All of the students that I know of that have went here have loved their experience staying there. It is a very welcoming and caring environment that helps their students get by.

The people at Fairmont State University are extremely welcoming and caring. The campus is absolutely gorgeous and the dorms are stylish and comfortable. With small class sizes the professors are able to connect with you 1-on-1 and really establish a relationship. I absolutely LOVE Fairmont State University!!
Elizabeth
The campus is nice and pretty. The cafe food is alright and I think the hours could be improved. There could be a better array of classes to choose from and also majors. There are plenty of activities always going on, but overall I love the atmosphere and the classes!

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I have had a successful educational and career experiences and am now currently pursuing my Doctoral of Social Work (DSW) degree. I started as a non-traditional student and as a single parent of a young child. I modeled for my daughter the importance of gaining secondary education in orderto have better opportunities for my career. My daughter has also successfully completed her Master's Degree program and is advancing within her career.
My education has provided me the opportunity to become a critical thinker, a scholar practitioner, and one in turn is a social change agent. My education has provided me with the opportunity to work with terminally ill patients, foster children, combat veterans and service members diagnosed with combat related PTSD, rape victims, and many other vulnerable, disempowered, and disenfranchised populations. This would not have been possible without my Bachelor and Master's Degrees. Now I am currently enrolled fulltime as a doctoral student. For me acquiring and ontaining my education is a life long journey that has now been passed on to my daughter and hopefuuly one day my grandchildren.
Most of my classmates are immature and they don't understand what it is like being in the real world yet, working for a living and supporting themselves.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Unlike many schools I had considered, FSU was close to home. I've always been a homebody, so fairmont helped me to include this within my life. I also was very intrigued by their small class sizes. This was something that really attracted me to their school. Their professors were very kind and really showed an interest in giving the students the best education they could receive.
Fairmont State is an excellent school for students who are self starters that are inquisitive and want to further their education. From Fairmont State I developed a good solid foundation that prepared me for my Master's Degree program. I am now working on my PhD and believe that Fairmont State prepared me for my educational journey and career!
The best thing about the school would have to be the diversity of programs, both academic and extracurricular, that are available. The support system for clubs is currently undergoing some changes, but has not been difficult to use in the past and should not become any more difficult now. It is relatively easy to create a new club if a small number of people want to try something that isn't currently available.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known where the buildings were. I felt lost my first week of classes, and I wish I would have taken the time to look around before classes started.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The one thing I brag about the most of Fairmont State, is that it is such a small campus. Most high school seniors want that party atmosphere and lots of people, but for some the small campuses are ideal. Fairmont is easy to get around and all of my classes are small and personal; so I get the attention from my professors that I need to succeed. It is nice to be able to talk about topics in class and be able to get your opinion in discussion in class, rather than just listening and wish your voice was heard.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about Fairmont State University is the availability of classes. Many classes are only offered in either the fall or the spring semesters which can make it nearly impiossible to schedule classes or graduate on time. Also, the more difficult courses tend to be scheduled together so your schedule can often be bogged down with three difficult courses making the semester a little harder.
To me the best thing about this university is that its small campus with everything you need close by. People are friendly , professors are helpful. But to most of the local people there is a belief that West Virginia University in Morgantown is much better then Fairmont State University because its bigger but I've heard from students who used to go there otherwise. We have a very beautiful campus with every kind of facility you can think of. Students often hang out in the library or cafataria in Falcon center. Also they can go to gym and play whatever game they like. The recent complain that I can think of was from the residence hall. Due to recent modification of the buildings alarm system. Fire alarm often goes off and students have to come out in the open in the middle of the night.
