The campus is absolutely beautiful. It has an amazing theatre program, which is my major. Everyone here is so nice and fun to talk to. Not only that, but everything is in walking distance. THIS is the school for me. The class sizes are small, but it gives you more of an opportunity to connect with your professors.
Jack
Old school feel on campus.

The school is great, it looks like Hogwarts in America, it's near the beach, super fun, professors are great. I think the minimum number of students in any class is 6 I think the highest is about 20. Professors are great, the view is great, you're right next to historical Saint Augustine, which is a lot of fun with a lot of stuff to do. 10/10

Many of the students are great, I've become friends with a few people now. The class sizes are fairly small (my biggest was around 21 people), and the teachers get back to you quickly. The events hosted by SGA, Residence Life, and others are fun (Harry Potter Week was amazing!). The food isn't the absolute worst, but it isn't good overall. The best thing is honestly their machine-created pancakes, which is saying something. There is a large variety of food, but the options and flavors could use some work.
The campus itself is beautiful, although many of the dorms have a variety of issues. Ponce West (my side of the dorms) has countless issues, and most residents have at least one story of their toilet overflowing and flooding the bathroom. My suitemates and I have at least 3 of those. My dorm ended up with termites, which they have known about for years now. Even with these issues, they send someone over to fix them very quickly! The plumbers and Exterminators are very nice people, too.
Whenever there is an issue that requires the police or the fire department, they arrive very quickly and the school works with them to figure out the issues. Security has shown that they do care about the students and staff, and are available in Ponce at all hours of the day and night when needed.
There are many class options to choose from, and many amazing professors. We also have various activities and things to do, including the pool, the Ringhaver Student Center, Abare marketplace, and the Sebastion POD.
Every college has pros and cons. I would say that the pros outweigh the cons at Flagler College.

It's very small compared to other schools, but it works in its favor. Classes are small and focused, and engaging with professors is easy. Its location is also very quiet compared to another college town, so there is also fewer distractions for students.

I don't really like it here, it's very small. Everyone knows everyone. Word spreads like wildfire. Party scene sucks. The education is very poor, you sorta just pay to pass. The greek life is not very strong. The teachers are chill but that's because no one takes anything seriously here. Overall, you pay to pass.

Flagler is a great school for those who love the beach and have an interest in the liberal arts or coastal environmental science. The social life is fairly strong and the town is great for those who do not own a car. Tuition and housing are expensive, but worth it for those who can afford them.

When I was a kid, I lived in Jacksonville, Florida for three years. My family and I occasionally visited St. Augustine for the shopping, scenery, and history. One day, we toured Flagler College and I instantly fell in love. Unfortunately, my family moved to Lake Orion, Michigan, where I have been living for the past seven years and forgot about Flagler and knew that college was still far away for me. Now that I am a high school senior, I have taken college and tours much more seriously. I remembered that Flagler existed and promptly flew down to Florida for spring break to tour Flagler more thoroughly. I fell even more in love and applied! The location, campus, shopping, history, student size, majors, and overall aesthetic and vibe were all perfect for me. I few weeks later, I received my acceptance letter and even got a prestigious scholarship. Though the cost of attending this school is a bit out of my budget, I am trying to apply to as many scholarships as possible to attend my dream school.

Flagler College is a beautiful historic land mark and school. I will be a freshman coming this fall 2022 and am very much looking forward to the campus life. The student body is small but also diverse. Also with the small student body you are able to get a more intimate educational experience. Plus you are surrounded by a beautiful historic city with many shops and excellent culinary options.

It was definitely a hard adjustment coming to such a small school but I have grown to love the community feel. I love seeing people I know and being able to engage in conversations around campus. The faculty and staff are generally really nice and available for conversation and help. I feel like they genuinely care.

Nothing short of an amazing campus. My tour guide told me how small the class sizes are and that make me even more excited to at end. The housing facilities are spectacular, they respect their students privacy. They have a wide range of majors that piqued my interest. Students are very friendly and I can’t wait to attend!

Flagler College is a wonderful school; there are issues that aren't difficult to find at any college, but the faculty and staff really do care about their students and work to make it a safe and enjoyable college experience for students. The campus is beautiful and safe and the professors are usually warm and encouraging and truly want to help their students not only succeed, but learn. Administrative difficulties are the biggest issue at Flagler, but they are often quickly resolved.

Though Flagler is a pretty small liberal arts school, it shines when it comes to academics, community involvement, and artistic expression. I think going to Flagler would ensure any student a bright future especially with the small class sizes and the availability of the teachers.

I went for a school tour in November 2019. From the second I stepped on the campus, I knew I had to go to this college. The staff that I met was extremely helpful and the campus was beautiful. I've been contacted a few times by the admissions department and they always want to know how I am doing. I'm going to be a proud Saint!!!!

As a current student attending Flagler College, I have been able to engage in activities and events that has allowed me to make new friends. I feel comfortable to show up to planned events without the pressure of others making me feel unwelcome. I like the independence I have been given and I also enjoy the gorgeous dining hall surrounded by tiffany glass, friendly staff, and delicious food. The campus is beautiful during the day and makes me feel safe at night because of the 24/7 security. The education provided from Flagler College is exceptional and has provided me with knowledge from professors who genuinely care about each student they instruct.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Flagler College-St Augustine is 55%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Don't listen to peer pressure because you don't have to do what your new friends are doing to fit in. Take you time when it comes to partying, you have 4 years to have fun.
The atmosphere. The faculty and students here are very layed back and friendly. There are plenty of opportunities to get away from the classroom by engaiging in community and relaxing at the beach.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
someone that wants a lot of things to do around. there isn't much of a social life here you have to make it for yourself. if you don't know what you want to be this probobly isn't the best school. the majors are intense.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Flagler College is an exceptional private institution offering old city charm as well as modern professional studies including the social sciences, art, education, and business; during free time, the beach tempts from nearby with grand waves along with Spanish cobblestone streets in the old downtown district.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
It is a hard school to get in and they only accept a certain amount of applicants. It has the most beautiful campus in the state of Florida and was originally a hotel.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Flagler College is located in the heart of Florida's oldest city, Saint Augustine. Flagler College was built in the 1800s by a man named Henry Flagler. He originally built the building as a hotel called Ponce De Leon. Today, the old hotel serves as the dorm rooms for the girls. Our campus has a unique character as well as history that the majority of other colleges do not have. Flagler College is a private college with classes ranging from 15-25 students per class. Our small class sizes allow a more personal relationship with our professors than major universities.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
No inter-dorm visitation because when it comes time to do projects its hard to meet as a group if there are males. Since boys aren't allowed in girls dorms (vice versa) you have to do all the work during library hours and they aren't always open.
If you like smaller class sizes, you should attend Flagler. Students who enjoy getting to know their professors and who would like to maintain a relationship wtih them after the class is completed would like Flagler. People who enjoy the beach, historical architecture, close-knit atmospheres and an artisitic lifestyle would get a lot out of attending Flagler. Flagler is a good school for anyone who can balance a challenging educational atmosphere with an active social life. Flagler is a college I would recommend to anyone who wants to meet life-long friends and make incredible steps toward their future.
