Georgia Tech is one of the top schools in the country for good reason. When you walk around the campus you are surrounded by some of the most smartest, responsible, and respected people in the country and it makes the environment feel extraordinary. There is no other place I would rather attend in the world as this campus is going to be the reason I have a bright future.

Laura

The campus atmosphere is welcoming, and there are plenty of dining options with good food available. Overall, it's a nice place to study and get your engineering degree. There's a lot of nature, bugs, birds, and chipmunks, so if that's your thing, you'll really like campus.

Layla

It is a school that tries to invest in its students, especially with its career resources. The career fair is huge and there are plenty of opportunities to practice your pitch and get your resume reviewed before them. Beyond that, there are a lot of opportunities, but you have to work a bit to find them, such as fellowships, research, and etc.

Justin

Overall, Georgia Tech is a great school! It provides a top-notch technology based education and adequately prepares students for their careers. It is also relatively affordable for most students, especially in-state students. Located in Atlanta, it also close to many large companies which students often target. Go Jackets! Sting 'em!

Isaiah

The college is a hub for thoughts and ideas to develop into innovative solutions to real-world problems. There is a club and community for anything imaginable, despite the recent funding cut. Housing and food are fair, not great, but not awful and the dining halls have some cool-themed events. Academics and research are top-tier.

Zawadi

The Georgia Institute of Technology-Main Campus, also known as Georgia Tech, is an exceptional institution that offers a world-class education and countless opportunities for personal and professional growth. In my opinion, it is one of the best universities in the United States. Georgia Tech has a strong reputation for its rigorous academic programs. The university consistently ranks among the top engineering schools in the country and is renowned for its STEM fields. The faculty members are experts in their respective fields and provide students with valuable knowledge and guidance. It offers numerous research opportunities for students to engage in groundbreaking projects. The university's emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship fosters a culture of creativity and problem-solving skills. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources that enable them to turn their ideas into reality.

Guru

Georgia Tech offers numerous avenues for honing skills and applying knowledge in various industries through club participation and research opportunities. The professors at Georgia Tech not only prioritize academic success but also exhibit an amiable and cooperative attitude towards their students. The nurturing learning environment at the university facilitates the exploration of multiple majors. Furthermore, the presence of modern and well-maintained infrastructure contributes to enhancing the overall atmosphere.

Lauren

Although you may think Georgia Tech is for nerds/geeks, we still have fun! ...at study group? haha... It is definitely a school for people who are serious about their academics. Students usually study 15+ hours a week. It is hard but worth it. Outside of academics, I think we have great extracurriculars. I am in a cultural organization where we educate other students about Asian American culture and traditions. There are many clubs that you could join! I would not say we are heavy on sports; our football team is not that great. We are located in Atlanta, so there will always be great places to eat and have fun on the weekends. Overall, I love my school and would always encourage anyone who got in to attend.

Shani

Georgia Tech is a rigorous school with a heavy academic workload. It is an excellent school for STEM majors, but not so much for liberal art programs. I graduated from this school in 2012 and I feel that my degree paid off by opening doors for me and presenting me with opportunities. I would recommend this school to anyone willing to put in the work and effort.

Jalen

While Georgia Tech is a very academically rigorous school that fosters bright futures for its students, there is some room for improvement in the food and dorm department. Some have been renovated recently, while others still have the same look from decades ago. As a result, many people only want about two dorms since the dropoff between those and the others is pretty noticable.

William

Georgia Tech pushes you extremely hard, and you either emerge from the flames sad and broken or sad and a helluva lot stronger. While this school may not be the cause of my alcoholism, its definitely a major reason why I drink so much. If you like a challenge, absolutely this school is the one for you. If you are hesitant and not sure if grinding is what you really want to do, this school will break you.

Faith

Georgia Institute of Technology is a very good school where intellectual conversations often occur. While the students heavily focus on academics, we also like to indulge and have parties when time permits it. The on-campus housing and food is good, but some are better than others, it’s a matter of preference. The school is located right in the heart of downtown Atlanta and there is an array of different cuisines and restaurants to try. There are also many nearby apartments, if you preferred off-campus living. Greek life and sports are very prominent on campus and there are numerous clubs to choose from. Georgia Institute of Technology is overall a wonderful school.

Gianna

Pushes you to your farthest intellectual points so the work place and or graduate school comes at an ease. It’s a great place to meet students with similar interests in and out of the classroom. What I love most is the opportunity to make it your own, invention, innovation, and creativity thrive at Georgia Tech.

Jeffrey

They are rated #7 for computer science for a reason! Their online classes are fabulous and the community is awesome. I feel like my voice is heard for some changes that I have suggested. Some of the teachers need to be a bit more involved instead of just their TAs but I understand that they are heavily into their research.

Tate

Georgia Tech is a very welcoming and well-rounded school that is very student-oriented. The students and professors are very friendly and welcoming and always have answers to any question I have. The food is great and the campus is beautiful and has many accommodations for its students. This school is labeled one of the best in American and for good reason. It really is and it's evident why so many want to attend here. The programs they offer are very nurturing and give you exactly what you pay for.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I suppose the best piece of advice I could give myself as a high school senior is not to assume that my grades will remain at the same level I maintained during high school. It is difficult to go from making A's and B's to making B's and C's, but that's the way it goes at this school. My high school may have been academically rigorous, but college is simply a different matter entirely. It is easy to be discouraged when first facing a drop in your grades, but it is important to remember that everyone is in the same boat as you are, and that things will get better as you adapt to your new surroundings.

  9. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

My school has too many things to brag about. In a recent study, it was found that Georgia Tech was the number one school for Return-on-Investment. This means that after all of the hard work at such a competitive university, it does pay off to have a degree from Georgia Tech. I also brag about our football team, greek life, and other student activities that are rare among other schools that succeed to Tech's level of academics.

  10. What are the academics like at your school?

Georgia Tech academics are extremely demanding, but demanding academics are the only way to maintain the value of your diploma/degree. Most core classes are very large therefore the professor seldom know students on a personal basis. Students are continually studying in order to keep up with the fast paced teaching style that is prevalent at Georgia Tech. I myself am an Environmental Engineering major in the College of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

  11. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

For starters it would have helped to know how hard the school was going to be. Coming from a small high school that wasn't geared towards engineering made it tough my first semester. It was a large learning curve. But I can confidently say that I have got it now. I also wish I had known about the classes that are extremely tough such as Physics. Then I would have taken Physics C in HS and exempted that requirement with the AP tests. I also wish I had known some computing language coming in. It would have done wonders.

  15. What is your overall opinion of this school?

Georgia Tech as a whole has a great reputation and a degree from Georgia Tech is highly respected. The greek system at Georgia Tech is another great part of tech. Tech's central location in Atlanta allows students many opportunities to attend major events that take place in the city. The campus is a good size, but walking to classes is still manageable. The only bad thing about Georgia Tech is the fact that the administration seems to be more focused on their research than their students.

  16. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

While the people here are nice, most are introverted; therefore, it is hard sometimes to carry on a conversation with those who are introverted. In addition, I wish that clubs of interest would promote their meetings/events better. While sending emails sort of helps, sometimes a visual cue around campus could jog my memory of when a meeting is better than searching throughout my email for the information.

  17. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

There are many campus organizations. Freshman Council, FAB, and FreshGA are the main freshman groups. The Greek organization is very good, and one of the only ways to have a social life. The athletics are good. Football games are fun. It is free to go to go to sporting events.
