Glendale Community is a solid choice for most students, there are options for food outside of campus. It's in a pretty safe campus, with a good variety of classes for multiple degrees for multiple careers however if they don't have everything (if you're interested in tech theatre, somewhere else might be a better choice). The professors I had were mostly professional and knew what they were teaching and were helpful when students needed help. Though depending on what you are studying your experience will vary.

My opinion of Glendale Community College is it is a great school. I have only had the opportunity to do online courses, however the times I have gone for my books shows how nice the school is. The teachers do their best to assist you at your time of needs.

I absolutly love Glendale Community College. I am only a freshman but my advisor is extremely nice and always available. All of my instructors seem to be extremely understanding and flexible. My favorite part is the classes. Honestly I couldn't have asked for a better college.

If I could give advice to incoming students, check the rating of the professors before taking a class. Double check the classes and the requirements you need to take. Always stay updated with the requirements. If you need help don't be afraid to go check out the tutoring centers or even make a friend or two in class to help each other out if needed.

The 90/30 programs they they offer with some Arizona Universities is amazing. Completing 3 years at a community college and 1 year at a University is far less expensive. The behavioral health program is very progressive, providing information usually saved for a later time in your education.

I have attended Glendale Community College for the first two years of my seven year long college plan. Overall, I think this is a wonderful school and I will advise many future students to consider starting at GCC. The faculty are caring and professors ensure your education is as important to themselves as it is to you. Through GCC, I was directed to scholarships to help pay for my education and was continually encouraged with my degree/career choice by my advisor and all of my professors. GCC holds many memories and I am proud of my choice to attend this school.

Decent clean school. Majority of teachers are pretty invested to their students. It almost feels like the school is holding them back. Arts don't seem to be the focus of the school or atleast dance from my perspective. The room is often not at the right temperature, which can be dangerous if too cold, muscle tears are more likely. Also theirs lack of space where the classes with less students is just put into a fitness room. Sort relaxed attitude, but there is a sense of rushing you out. Instead of helping you find a major they just tell you to pick one

GCC is a great college. It offers a lot of opportunities and help for students both financially and academically. The professors are knowledgeable and willing to help students, the schedules are flexible, and the students are very welcoming and kind.

I am very fond of Glendale community college, an Extremely qualified faculty. Very friendly students, Faculty is always available, even the president of the school. I feel it is very unappreciated and undervalued by the collegiate community. The Faculty at the Glendale community college consists of many experts in their respective fields. More than a few of these experts have written a curriculum for prestigious universities. Some have published papers in individual journals and even published guidelines by which other countries abide by. I feel privileged to be attending this college. I am excited to go, learn, and study. I am continually flexing and exercising my intellectual muscles. One day I thought to myself since I’m going to school here, I should meet the person who is running the show. I called the office of the president of the college, and I said: “I am a student here at Glendale Community College, and I would like to meet the president.” The secretary on the phone asked what is it regarding? I said, “I am attending this school, and I should know who is running the show. The secretary seemed puzzled and surprised. Then she proceeded to schedule the appointment. The following week I went and met with the president of the school. Dr. Theresa Leyba Ruiz. She was a delight, and she took her time to listen attentively to everything I said. She asked questions, and she was genuinely interested in what I had to say. It was a very positive and even encouraging meeting. I will continue to look back on that day with great fondness.

It is a common community college. I believe this college will properly prepare me for the future that I am looking to seek as a future Physician. I have siblings who are currently enrolled with GCC and some who have already graduated and gone to do wonderful things with their education. I am prepared to meet new people, engage in activities, and educate myself to ensure my successful future!

I think Glendale Community college is a fine school. It is not as big as other campuses but it has everything it needs. It is a friendly and safe environment, there is security that patrols the campus and parking lot. The classes are small but I prefer those types of classes because you have more personal conversation with other students and teachers. All the teachers Iv'e had are friendly, clear, and available whenever.

Personally, I am amazed at how easy the enrollment process was to begin classes. As a first time college student, with kids, a husband, and a full time job, I wasn't sure that I had the time or flexibility to pursue my degree. The advisors were so helpful with their expertise as well as the other faculty to ensure everything goes smoothly for its students. The teachers truly care about their students as well as give up their time to help us whenever they can. The sports and extra curriculars are so exciting to see, and there's always something to do.

GCC is a great school. The professors I have had expressed excellent communication and engaging conversations to keep students interested and awake in class. The campus cafe is spacious and has room to meet new people and study. The library is my favorite place because I could spend hours there either studying or reading a large variety of book genres to learn new skills. Glendale Community College is a great school if you are looking to save money and excellent professors.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I were to go back in time to talk to myself as a senior, I would tell my self to get more involved into activites as a student. I would also would have saved a little more money for the experence of going to college. Hopfully to change my perception of what I thought college would be like. To me college is a little more relaxing and left to your own responsibility of your actions, but before my experence I thought college would be exactly like high school. I would also have tried to find an intrest in something to study for the two years of starting in a community college. The discipline is also something that I would have instilled in the way that I think of college. It is a little harder working and going to college all at the same time trying to make a living, and a career at the same time.
Glendale Community College is full of different kinds of people. If I had to choose one type of person it would be someone that is driven to enhance their own skills, dedicated to going to school, and is willing to help others. GCC has many different programs to fit anyone. But all of the programs need people with these traits.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I actually have no problem with anything Glendale Community College has to offer me. My entire experience with the college has been a educational one and enjoyed.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is usually the full computer labs. I would love to be able to purcahse my own lab top whenever I need to finish any homework or studying I didn't have the chance to do at school.
The teachers in my program, because I've never seen teachers who care and love their jobs as much as they do. Just seeing that in them makes me love music even more than I did before. I listen more closely than I ever have in school before because there is not a single piece of bad advise that they give, and I don't want to miss a thing.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before arriving to GCC I wish I would have known that parking spots are like gold and once you have a good one you never want to let it go! On the day my very first semester, I spent over a half an hour circling the parking lot and was late for my first class. Today I am in my fourth semester and I have learned to always leave my house an hour before my class starts to ensure that I find a parking spot, that hopefully still leaves me with at least 15 minutes before class.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The thing I would brag the most about my school is the class sizes and the teachers. The class size is personalized of being small to have a little one on one with the teacher, and not as much rushing to teach forty students at once. The teachers at my school are also understanding of the student due to a lot of them have gone there themselves. They are into new ideas of teaching for the students to learn, but they also make sure the material is exactly what we needed to know for that area plus more.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who is looking for the community that Universities typically provide shouldn't attend this school. Also, someone who is not self motivated. This school, from my experience, is an easy school to get behind in academically due to the mind set that it is only a temporary education school and the grades there do not matter, even though they really are important.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
It's very convenient for anyone to come to this school. They have a very accomodating schedule of classes, which makes it possible for someone with the most erratic personal schedule to still go to school.
There is a wide range of academics offered at GCC, from nursing to music to engineering; much is offered and at fairly flexible times and type classes (in class, hybrid, online).
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I have heard the school and people be described as a slang term, "ghetto", however I find this to be contrary to what I have observed as a student and that a good portion of people that are negatively presumptuous towards the school are people who have not attended the school themselves.
