I have enjoyed my time at lane community college so far, the campus is open making it enjoyable to stroll around and meet with friends, however the location of the main campus is quite remote for most people. Despite that I still enjoy going to school despite the commute, especially with the exemplary professors I have had the pleasure to meet.

Kailey - 11/27/2024

I think the location and members of the school are very helpful and present good and important information when needed help with future goals.

Marcos - 11/14/2024

I believe Lane Community College is an excellent school that offers a wealth of opportunities. The small class sizes foster a more personalized learning experience, allowing for greater one-on-one interaction with instructors, who are always available during office hours. I appreciate the welcoming environment on campus, where everything is easy to find and navigate. The counselors are friendly and always ready to help, making it easy to get the support I need. Additionally, the school does a great job of keeping students informed about any safety concerns or suspicious activity through text notifications, ensuring that we feel secure and aware of what's happening on campus.

Lane Community College is a gift to our community in the Willamette Valley! For over 60 years, this college has been providing affordable and accessible education to all those who seek it. Young, Old, and from all over the country. I believe that we have great inclusion, activities, and academics for those looking to get the college experience before moving on to a bigger university. It is also a good option for learning trades, such as welding and construction! I always love to smile and say hello to professors, friends, and faculty I know. :)

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Lane Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

It's so difficult to pinpoint, or to know, exactly what I could have done differently to make things 'easier' on myself. But I think, if I were to make a list, time management would be at the top of it. There are, understandably, any number of things besides homework that a college student wants to be doing and experiencing. In order for the college experience to be ultimately fulfilling however, one must successfully balance academia with this craving for life experience. There are a plethera of ways an individual might go about scheduling their time wisely, but the most important, for me, is spreading the work out over the entire length of any assignment. This allows me to stay focused on what I'm doing and get the work done on time, while also affording me time to spend doing other things and pursuing other interests.

The kind of person who should not attend Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon is a person who is not interested in thinking critically. They need to not be the type of student who wants to challenge what they think and believe, and is willing to evolve out of their current position. They need to open to the experience of new ideas than of the past, all the while being respectful of what the past can teach us. And if the prospective student cannot live up to this kind of thinking, maybe they should re-think this particular school.

  6. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

A few things that I wish I would have been aware of before I started off my first term are: that you need to get signed off for advance registration for the next term. If you don't do advance registration it is very possible that there may be no classes left for you. I also wish that I would've known more about how to use express lane, because express lane is a very helpful tool for a student but can take some time to get used to.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

When talking to my friends, I brag that I am in school and that it is hard to find an excuse not to be. Earning a degree is likely the single most important thing you can do to gain advantage in a given field or the workforce. When I brag that I am in school, I also brag that I work full-time but still manage to go despite my other responsibilities.

My classmates are people with dreams of a better, easier, and healthier world; a world that is considered the new American Dream: where everyone cares about one another, cares about the planet, and thinks before acting; where the color of skin isn't a segregating concern anymore; where all products are earth friendly; where everyone has insurance and economic security now and in the future.

  11. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I really do not like how the financial aid/ enrollment services is ran. You have to take a number just as if you were in a DMV and you end up waiting for a long time just to ask a simple question. It's hard to go and talk to them because you have to try and make time in your busy schedule which can be really hard.
